The guy in the top comment has absolutely no taste. The movie has several nail biting scenes. it's a psychological thriller, not a space drama.
It presents, very discreetly, many philosophical dilemmas. Us not knowing exactly what Dr. McBride's goals only inticed my curiosity and anxiety. And the resolution felt very satisfying, as it comes down to something very realistic and that had been hinted along.
I feel like it could've leaned a little bit more into the philosophical questions, the dilemmas humanity may have to face, but my guess is they didn't wanna make too obvious, and let the viewer draw their own questions, which is a good direction.
All in all, great movie. Very realistic in every way, very intriguing, nail biting and beautiful. Unlike the other guy, I didn't find it very slow AT ALL, quite on the contrary, I was often checking the run time and thinking "omfg they're not gonna have enough time to finish everything! are they gonna end the movie without X doing Y? Are we not gonna see what happens?" But that was not the case. Everything was answered, everything had more than enough time to go down without it feelings rushed or anything being left out. I'm glad they tackled everything, unlike other movies where they'll intentionally leave something answered to give way to a sequel. This felt complete, it had closure and it was satisfying. Not the best movie of all time, not a must watch by any means, but a good flick, good nail biter that is never in your face, never TEDtalking you. 8.5/10
Sweet, warm, lovely, and long. I teared up on three separate occasions, if I recall correctly. This is the kind of film I might just play in the background for comfort during future holiday seasons.

If i've never seen Industry on HBO then i'd be more into this. Everything this film attempts, Industry does far superior.
Good acting by Ehrenreich and Dynevor
It could be a great movie if they were sane and there was a reason. It isn't a point that he's a pedofile if you puch and puch and throw yourself naked on him looking like a 25yo. A pedofile is interested and turned on by someone looking young. The whole point was wrong which was the most annoying.

If you like films that are subtle and feel like plays (think "Doubt") then this is the film for you. The three main leads are absolutely extraordinary. It was really nice to Nighy play this kind of role.

Like a good book, the film catches your interest with the first chapter and keeps you gripped until the end. This is a wonderfully told story, and while not always a happy one, you will still be glad you watched this one.
A film for people who are not in a hurry. Great story. Tender performances (Emily Mortimer and Bill Nighy are wonderful). A story of stubborn determination, small village power plays and unexpected allies. Great supporting cast (Young Honor Kneafsey is a stand out). Definitely a movie for book lovers. I give this film an 8 (great) out of 10. [Drama]
