I don't like how Bea is putting pressure on Leo because he "has somewhere to be". Grow some adult pairs. People have to be some plac,e some time. And he does have a family... it's like that never occurred to her. Them making it about how he's "a dabbler" or not... ok fine, but then it's really immature to expect he give up his other life and not have responsibilities.
I guess at some point in the future Bea will find out who he really is, and then it'll be a big problem for her, I'm almost sure of it.
Most inaccurate depiction of victorian era London: clean streets
Also... where did the obnoxious techno music go? Suddenly the score changed into something more fitting. So far into the episode anyway.
OMG the writing is so bad, they're not even trying.
this stupid ass season can kiss my ass.
Was the plan just to trust that the spoiled man-baby had never seen a tape recorder before? Really mailing it in now.
One of the better episodes. With this bang of a start, I suspect next one is going to boring filler episode.
Another episode that can be played at 3x speed.
The armored Stormtroopers are incredibly useless. The two at the beginning of the episode getting flanked by walkers while clearing them with machine guns. And at the end the Delta team managed to flip the vehicle driving in a completely flat field and one of them gets killed almost immediately? I'm questioning how have they managed to last this long xD
80% of this episode was exhausting to watch, just the same old same old. BUT... those final minutes and what has been teased for the rest of the season has me excited to keep watching.
Belle... A collection of music videos glued together by a really badly written narrative.
Belle is one of the weakest animated movies i have seen in the past few years, and that makes me really sad, as a fan of the director i went into this expecting an 8 or an 9, but what i got is a 5 at best.
Belle has a interesting idea, with its reworking of the "beauty and the beast" and its child abuse themes... But it fails to build on its characters and to explain basic premises of its own world, making it for a very boring and bland experience.
Most of the things we thought would be relevant were completely ignored and absolutely useless, we asked ourselves watching "did she get some disease and now is unable to sing in the real world and that is why the U is an escape?" No, they never address this, she just fails to sing and vomits once because the movie wanted to i guess? They keep all her "friends" completely irrelevant and underdeveloped until the last quarter of the movie, so i basically don't care about any of them in the end, they never explain the socio economical structure of the U world... How does this work? They say the avatar is made automatically based on people physiognomy, but the avatars are crazy different in form and species, how can that be made from ones physiognomy? How is the invitation system decided? Who is invited and why? Why even have an invitation system instead of selling the app or freely distributing it if that ends up irrelevant to the story? Why show us a very interesting singer character on the start that rivalizes our belle if you are just going to forget her for the whole movie? How to know which avatars are AI controlled and which are actually people? Is it possible do die in U? If not, what is the relevance of all the conflict we see?
Belle raises too many questions and answer very little, it presents us with an beautiful and interesting virtual world but tells us NOTHING about it and how it all works, it presents us with futuristic technology in a world that seems stuck in the 2000s, it gives us many bland and uninteresting characters with only one personality trait each and develops none of them... There are so many problems, so many drawn out scenes... That it all gets boring and tiresome...
And.... That makes me really sad, the music is GREAT, the visuals are BEAUTIFUL, the music scenes are AMAZING... But they are few and far in between and the rest of the movie... Is not interesting, they present us a nice duality of belle and the beast, but their interest in one another is so out of nowhere and forced that it doesnt feel even a little bit real or natural... There is a great scene that develops the characters and emotional connects, but it is only in the last quarter of the movie... When it has already lost all my interest and attention... and the plot of child abuse is ok and very important... But it feels shoved in... The main plot... Feels shoved in... Oh, and how they find the boy... Well, that was just the worst "investigation" bit i have ever seen...
I really wanted to like this movie, but there are just too many unanswered questions, just too little character development, and a plot that is just generic and bland enough to lose my attention... The visuals and music alone are not enough...
At the end, i feel like they made some really great music videos and didnt want to release it as just animated music videos, so they wrote a really bland movie around it and shoved a controversial and important theme(child abuse) to appeal to peoples hearts in an effective but kinda cheap way.
To each their own, but this movie felt like beating a dead horse. The directing and the characters are nice, but the story itself felt a little bit too shallow. I can see where the positive reviewers are coming from, but to me personally it was an O.K. movie, but no more.
Wasted potential. There's nothing exciting about this film and I find it to be very underwhelming. Maybe I set my expectations too high. It feels too drawn out and lengthy. The drama part is interesting enough with some solid performances but the horror part not so much. You have to wait 15 minutes before credits to see the truly terrifying part. The ending is pretty suspenseful to be honest but I already lost interest. Could've been more enjoyable with quicker pacing or maybe as a short film.
Finished watching 1x09 at 1:09. Well, I don't know what I expected from this episode, but I'm glad it's not over.
Much like Parasite, I'll surely be thinking about this show for a long time. Squid Game is easily one of the best made shows ever that really makes you think about the dichotomy between the rich and the poor, how fucked up capitalism really is and most of all, humanity.
Wasn’t thrilled with the ending… but this was a great show
ending totally dropped off in comparison to the rest of the series. but i guess its a segway to another season if they make one so...
Quite enjoyed this series/season but didn't like the ending one bit.
f:asterisk_symbol:ck me this was intense. in the first half of the episode i couldn’t help but feel sorry for the main character who only wanted to make his daughter smile on her birthday, and worked so hard after losing the money to try and do something nice to then see the look on his face when she said she had gone out to a fancy restaurant with her step dad. god that hurt me a little. i just want him to do well you know? then the set up for all the game happened etc etc. THEN THE FIRST FREAKING GAME. OMFG. THE DEATHS AT THE START AND THEN EVERYONE RUNNING AND EVEN MORE DEATHS. IT WAS SO WELL EXECUTED (ha ha) AND SO SO INTENSE I LOVED IT!!! I LOVE THE CONCEPT SO MUCH. thoroughly surprised !!
first episode is a 9/10 for me. ive been waiting since i first found out it was being released and so far i am seriously NOT disappointed.
also that gong yoo cameo >>> WE LOVE TO SEE ITTTTT
I always say in a good movie or series at least 10 deaths shall happen in the first 10 minutes. While this was a little bit longer, but the death count at the end made more then up for it. This is some seriously sick stuff.
The first episode was exciting (after half an hour), this one was slow, a bit boring and predictable (everyone will return). Nice introduction to the characters, but slow. Hope it gets better once they returned to the playground.
HOW DARE THEY END IT LIKE THIS ASDFGHJKL
WHAT A WAY TO END THE EPISODE, AJKDLSL
The beginning of it all, if you have seen the film you must necessarily watch this and vice versa; I watched the film first and because of my fault, maybe I wasn't very focused or something was missing in the plot as they bitterly complicated everything to pretend to be a "special film with a special plot" but I didn't really understand the plot and I didn't really want to see it again, I thought I would understand with this OVA mini series, I understood, not everything yet, but it was equally appreciated.
Very interesting the evolution of Naomi's life, where it all started happily, with his only greatest thought being towards love, now that he is at university he is all confused, and this reflects the life of many people where we do not know how to cross certain obstacles, this second part is very captivating because it involves the viewer much more than the film or the other two parts, because it can seem like everyone's common life, and this is intriguing.
Naomi now works in the laboratory to find her dear beloved Ruri.
I didn't like it... it seemed like an episode made at the last moment just to give an ending to the story and compared to the second part as I wrote before it is much easier to get lost in filler scenes (even if the whole episode is a filler in the end), and of such eventuality, miss other important scenes and therefore lose pieces of the story and not understand everything that the film has to give.
Interesting movie in the beginning but then it becomes a continuous struggle to understand the plot, very charismatic with surreal but engaging scenes, it starts slowly and in the middle of the film it becomes a bit of a mess.
Nothing special, I had better expectations but it turned out to be an anime that could have given more...
That ending really shocked me.
I knew that Kenny was an asshat from back when Shawn mentioned that he spent $300 going to the carnival (I think it was) and paid for Kenny and some girl to go to the theater, then with Kenny breaking into Shawn's apartment, going through Shawn's things to find and steal his $20 and use it to buy Chinese food. Shawn should have Kenny arrested for breaking into his apartment and stealing his TV! That ending was quite the shock! And ironic that a neurosurgeon would suffer a stroke.
That really ending was gut wrenching.
The film is all a satire that "throws a stone into the pond" to annoy other Horror movies, because apparently, Italians (but also viewers in general) don't like anything with this movie genre and we always have something to say about it, and it's true, that's how we are, and on the one hand it's good because we always manage to get closer - but never quite - to perfection thanks to criticism and past horror flops, and moreover I think that the horror genre is the most criticised of all, not because it sucks but because the fanbase of this genre is the most passionate. Some people hated horror and now they're forced to watch it just because it gained so much traction in the last years and with so many subgenres, there's something for everyone so I understand if they start to like it.
However, this movie had great potential, visually and auditorily, it's not bad, I remember some very captivating scenes like the one when they are in the house and all of a sudden this intense red comes out with the sound of the alarm in the background; or the green nocturnal setting of the camper area embraced by the darkness towards the forest, it's scary.. but I still agree with some reviewers that they wrote this plot just to gain more positive feedback.
