That Clay guy is wicked, huh
OH MY GOD IT'S LAURA BENANTI
Oh, my god. I love Niko so much. She, Jenny, and Edwin's gay panics are the best thing in the show.
Joshua Bell complaining about bowling, Emanuel Ax doing Dance Dance Revolution and Bernadette Peters singing with the dress that would later be the "Sondheim's Old Friends" dress. What a great episode.
Dude just got Patti lupOWNED
I love a good semi-obscure reference like that.
I have never wanted a character to die as much as I wanted Javier Bardem's character to FREAKING DIE.
yeah, yeah, good movie and all that. just don't.
please don't.
hell no.
Trent and Eleanor must be together forever. I'll die on this hill.
I remember watching this movie back when it first premiered just because it had Astrid Hadad in it. Back then, as a closeted and impressionable 16-year-old, I didn't like it but I remember being a little traumatized by some scenes mainly Fito being left "vestido y alborotado" as we say in my country .
I rewatched it and I still don't like it, but I value it a little bit more. It's one of the very few Mexican movies that focuses on LGBTQ+ people without making fun of us. Of course, it's full of clichés and tends to try to be "too artsy and too edgy", but it's not that bad.
Sure, all the characters needed therapy real bad, but hey, it's México. It's realistic that no one went to therapy.
Wow. It's been a while since an episode of any series made me feel this much.
Loved it.
Jeez... That was weird.
The first act it's just plain weird and uncomfortable up until Beau escapes from the doctor and his wife , the second act was way better, the play scene was beautiful; the last act was glorious.
I don't intend to watch it ever again for my own mental health, nor would I recommend the movie to anyone. But if you happen to come across with it, I won't advise you to not watch it either, just be aware that when the movie ended, a couple behind me went: "Are you ok?" "No".
I think the right thing to say about this movie is: PATTI LUPONE SUPREMACY. JUST MAKE HER AN EGOT ALREADY.
THE BOILER MAN‽‽‽‽‽
Great acting, stunning visuals. It's just that I can't stand 4 hours of a sociopath with white savior complex manipulating and destroying everything and everyone around him.
Nice movie that I hope I won't ever see again.
Oh God. I just hate Ben. I really hate his existence.
So, it's a whole trip. Not all the songs are good, but most of them are... And they're really catchy too.
Great voices, lovely dancing, and good acting. I mean, it's a musical revue with naked men, what else can we ask for?
I'm not sure if I didn't get it or if the short is just bad. Anyway, I only know that I was robbed of 20 minutes of my life.
But for real I need someone to explain to me what the hell is going on (especially in the first half of this).
I'm not really a Minion guy, I decided to watch it in the cinema just because it's soundtrack (special mention to "Born To Be Alive" by Jackson Wang). I'm really surprised with how much I enjoyed the movie! It's consistently funny and nails a lot of its own marks.
Plot-wise it's sorta weak, but that doesn't really make it a bad movie.
Too pretentious. Not that bad, but just too pretentious. Also, the sound mixing is just awful, I'm not sure if it was intended, but the foleys were just wrong.
Is it a good movie? Well, kinda, yes. Brilliant direction, great acting, marvelous cinematography, and really well-done production design. The only thing here is the script. The first half of the movie is just slow without reason, tbh I only found the last 40 minutes of the movie to be actually compelling and worth my attention. ONLY 40 MINUTES OUT OF 127. The movie does not say a lot during the first hour; there are a lot of scenes that could be cut out of the movie without damaging the plot.
Anyway, would recommend it if you have the time and are aware that you'll be bored beyond belief for the first hour or so.
For what it's worth, I loved it. That being said, there's a lot wrong with the series, starting with all the violence and harassment portrayed during the whole 2 seasons that never gets spoken about nor even punished (TW: rape, physical violence, psychological violence, harassment, kidnapping, etc.).
Storywise is an interesting way to use the homophobic enemies to lovers trope, but too weak at some points. Also, during season 02 the sound mixing is just awful, and prosthetics and FX make-up are a little on the lower side of the standard.
Anyway, would recommend if you're into Thai BLs, you may like this one, just beware of all the previously mentioned trigger warnings.
WHYYYYYY????????
Why do they always have to find the extremely wrong and bad ways to solve problems????? The writing for this show is sometimes remarkable in a good way, but it's sooooooooo problematic lots of harassment all the time.
The best recorded version of Follies that I've ever seen. I'm so happy with it! There are some performances that lack a lot, but those don't undermine the overall enjoyment of seeing the show/film, most of the actors are amazing and do a lot of justice to the book, the songs, and their characters.
Why? WHYYYYY???? It was becoming just the normal amount of weird, but then it turned just to creepy, violent and rapey agaaaiiinnnn, whyyyyyy?????
It's a great mini-season for Blown Away, perfectly themed for the holidays. The only thing I didn't like was Bobby Berk as a host; even Katherine seemed a little annoyed at times.
But overall, a good watch.
It's so weird. I love it.
A great documentary about the life and work of Howard Ashman. Very well documented and with a well-constructed narrative... It would have been better if it weren't a slide of photos and videos. Seeing the people talking might have helped with the delivery of the documentary.
Damn it. It actually is a really good movie.
As everyone said: it starts slow, but became better near the finale.
9/10!
I can't believe that I'm actually writing something about this movie, but for you, that hasn't seen the movie... Well... It's pretty bad. Bad photography, bad acting, extra bad editing, but it's a really great story.
They just didn't know how to make it work with what they had.
Even though I'm from Xalapa, I never got the chance to see "La Virgen Loca" . This documentary gives me the opportunity to see a little bit of what it was and, also, learn about this xalapeño ilustre that was the late Hosmé Israel (who even got a Guinness Award for the play). Loved it!
