I love mythologies, folklores, & legends. I daresay that the story of Heracles, or Hercules as its been romanized to be, is easily one of my favorites. I did go into this believing it to be a adaptation of the story of the 12 labors, with the poster and the trailers showing off the battle with the Nemean Lion, the first labor. But instead what I watched was quite different. A modern retelling where stories of the legendary Hercules are just that, stories, inflation of reality. It's an interesting take, one that I don't disagree with. Frankly, I enjoyed this movie, but also recognizing it as a film that I'll likely never revisit.

One of the last installments of the 'Disney Renaissance', Hercules is simply a good film. Is it the best the Renaissance had to offer? Not at all. It is however a must see for any Disney fan, if only once, for the music and voice performances of DeVito, Woods, & Egan. Very Enjoyable.

Oh how the mighty have fallen. Now I can't emphasize enough how subjective stand-up comedy is, as with all other forms of entertainment and not every comedian is everyone's cup of tea. That said I like Rodney but his new shtick, if you will, of fat single guy flat out doesn't work. I do applaud him for trying as no comedian should rest solely on what worked before at the risk of tarnishing what came before it. However, if this special cannot cater to a large, single Rodney Carrington fan, then who can it cater to?

This is Rodney Carrington at the height of his stand-up career. As with all comedians not anybody is everybody's cup of tea. Rodney was freakin' hilarious to me as a teenager and coming back to this special a few years later, it does hold up as a well constructed comedy special that does include a musical portion that very few comedians, Rodney included, can pull off. Fun hour of comedy.

The score pretty much says it all. Benchwarmers rides that fine line between good and bad with the sole saving grace that it sits under 90 minutes. Also, it's on par with most other Rob Schneider movies, take that as you may.

If you like the Adam Sandler gimmick performances like Billy Madison, then this one will likely be a fun flick for you. I enjoy Sandman movies myself, recognizing the wealth of mediocrity in his filmography. I consider Waterboy an upper mid-tier Sandler movie that despite a rich cast overacting their collective asses off, is fun enough to enjoy.

Captain America: Civil War

I will admit I am a MCU mark. Now with that being said, this film is in my top 5 MCU movies. It should be 'Avengers 3' rather than 'Captain America 3' and I would've loved to have had a more standalone movie under the Captain America banner, but then again the overall plots of 'Cap' movies have always been grander then simply Steve Rodgers - Super Soldier. Don't get me wrong, that is not me dismissing this movie in the slightest, but merely a bit of food for thought.

For me, if a film exceeds 2½ hours and I don't feel fatigued from it, I don't have to do a deep introspection to know how i felt about it. Even with all the players and everything going on, Civil War manages to tell a fantastic story that has its own conclusion that at the same time acts as a turning point in a much larger story.

It is very hard to deny the adorable, fun feel of this kid flick. It's not a good film and if you're watching it for the first time as an adult, you most likely will ask for your 82 minutes back. But I have a soft spot for movies that are driven by a cast of kids, they often bring a unique quality that can elevate an otherwise lackluster film. Little Rascals does just that for me, in addition to a nostalgic bump, these kids uplifts a bad movie just enough to be on the good half of my scale.

Is this film a Halloween classic or a Christmas one? Maybe a November classic to meet somewhere in the middle. I love the songs, the score, & the animation. For some reason though I find this drags a bit for me at times especially in the second half and I shouldn't feel that way for a movie under 90 minutes. Again, I believe this is a really good movie but the Tim Burton pacing in this one just stops it from topping either of my holiday essentials.

I can understand why this movie is as divisive as it is among different generations of movie fans, it's a retelling of a Christmas classic. For me, I can't help but enjoy it. Is the acting over the top? Yes. Does said acting work from anyone other than Jim? Rarely. But yet, the film doesn't overstay it's welcome, visually it's very whimsical and fantastic, and Carrey's performance is unforgettable. Ron Howard did exactly what I believe this film was meant to do and that is to be an entertaining entry into any Christmas Season watchlist.
