"The Rare Earth (2015)" - apparently it was re-released in 2022 as a "director's cut" but, the database (Trakt, TMDB) do not list the 2015 version.
This is not a good movie. It does have some stunning scenes and awesome music provided by "All India Radio" but, it is just a jumble of non-related scenes interconnected with tons of "B" roll. This looks like something that was used to sell a movie (or a movie-maker's ability) to a studio but, an actual movie with a coherent script was never made.
You've got to be kidding me! The one thing I held out hope for was an explanation to why Discovery was put out in deep space for 1,000 years as seen in the Calypso short. All they did was shoehorn in a 10 minute filler piece of actually taking the ship out but, not why!!
A sash and merit badges for a grown-ass adult? smh.
Does anyone know what that blue thing on the tripod is?
It moves around the apartment and is placed as if it is meant to be noticed.
"Pronoun troubles" Amazing how a 70 year-old cartoon is still relevant.
Overly dramatic (bordering on "click-bait") episode that is not worthy of the prestige that is NG. The "pop-ups" are intrusive, unnecessary, and in one case ruins the shot (Pac-Man triangle illusion).
I could tell you how cool this short is, but then I'd have to kill you.
One episode in and I wanted to turn it off. After three episodes I feel the hook starting to set but, it more just curiosity of how it will end and not a legitimate interest in the show.
Why do the "mooners" speak differently than "Earthers"? And why make them sound dumber, like saying "thinks" instead of "thoughts"?
Why put people to sleep for what should be at most, a 3 day trip to the moon? Given that this is 3 generations in the future advances to propulsion would likely have shortened this trip to 1-2 days.
Why is an actual pilot needed? AI is controlling everything (at least on the moon) and 3 generations of advancements in autonomous vehicles would eliminate the need of human pilots. And the stupid rings for controls!?!?
What's with the glowing chests?
This show is just lazy. It could have taken a deep dive into science and really presented a realistic view of a possible future.
(Season 1) Intriguing story that really keeps the tension up in each episode (so far). The acting is decent but the audio is absolutley terrible! It is sometimes impossible to make-out what is being said when viewed on a regular TV. Wearing headphones makes dialogue much easier to understand.
Stopped watching after 2 episodes. Kids in space acting like children.
Dennis' erection was the funniest thing I've ever heard on all the bake-off shows!
