Yeah, the girl's really pretty and they have chemistry but the constant making eyes at each other got annoying.
The warm, authentic 70s vibe emanating from this movie really is something. From the film grain, the lofi credits, the static camera with pan and zoom only, it really sells the aesthetic right from the jump and never lets up. On craft alone, The Holdovers is a worthy watch, but that would be a disservice to the melancholic-yet-heartwarming tale being told. While you could argue that the plot is one of trope and predictability, the warm blanket it provides is perfectly fitting, and offers just the right stage to explore these three unusual characters. A lovely story about connection and finding friendship in the unlikeliest people, The Holdovers is a delightful movie that I can't recommend enough, especially with it being the season and all.
just horrible :disappointed:
Echo is such a fantastic character and the actress that plays her does an excellent job. Vincent D'onofrio gives it all jist like he did on the netflix show but people writing and planning the ahow..... i don't know what they were thinking.
basically this show sums up to a Origin show of Echo that we know from the Hawkeye show (the first 3 episodes) and then they decided to reboot and give her a new origin and a new set of power (the remaining 2 episodes).
the crammed up everything on the final 2 episodes that it all looked choppy, rushed and uninteresting.
Marvel is completely lost at the moment and clearly they have no clue what they want to do or where they are going
It started with some promise, but from the 3rd episode on the story direction and characters got progressively more silly and stupid. The finale was massive bore, and the post credits stinger was heavy handed (and wasn't teasing a story I have any interest in seeing). Marvel really needs to think long and hard about what it wants to do TV wise going forward became the last few efforts have been sorely lacking.
[Disney+] With the Marvel Spotlight label that seems to cover up the failure of the MCU, this "independent" story that is connected to "Hawkeye" (2021) and "Daredevil" (2015) tries to find a middle ground between the Marvel style and the Netflix style, but without getting its own personality. Bad action choreographies, introduction of Native American elements without much depth, an uncharismatic protagonist and the most soporific use of sign language that has ever been seen, build a failed series from the very concept.
I don't know what Marvel is doing. If they want me to care about someone, don't write their character as a massive douchebag to everyone who cares for her. I mean +1 for representation, but her character was literally a killer for Fisk. At least try to make her likeable.
If Marvel wants to write about bad people they could have made a series about Fisk instead.

Well, there's another piece of MCU content, I'll never watch again.
Had there been any semblance of quality control at Marvel, they would have realized this movie was unfit for cinematic release.
Constructing a movie that requires hours of Disney+ homework to understand not one, but two main characters who have never been introduced into the cinematic universe before is not conducive to a good viewing experience.
Plot feels flimsy, sloppy and chopped to hell, character arcs are non-existent, and Captain Marvel in particular is written as a completely different character from her first film. Third act is contrived and on auto-pilot.
What a trainwreck of a movie.
Why does this feel like I'm watching one of Kamala's Captain Marvel fanfics
Why does every season finale have to be so boring and meaningless? Was that really necessary to make Captain Carter so powerful? Looks like she is the ultimate soldier who can defeat everyone in the multiverse at once.
Urgh... Sorry, boring, boring, boring. Super women Kahori and Captain Carter (who for no discernible reason got chosen by the Watcher) against Strange Supreme... yawn.
What if... Screenwriter didn't come up with anything and just made a mess out of fighting characters.
Found is a very generous term. She doesn't even use them once, what a bamboozle title...
I liked Kahhori, I liked the native-American inclusion... but I'm not sure I needed the n-th rendition of an unoriginal origin story... because it wasn't new, it was just in a new setting.
what if...? marvel did panderverse
A new Marvel character! And she is great, not a Mary Sue. She does have power, but it's her circumstance and people's suffering that gives her the will to use it.
ANOTHER Peggy Carter episode, with more to come. What If these shows focused on a different character? Infinite stories and we keep focusing on the same handful of people.
This show is atrocious. I feel like 1/10 is being generous! If this is the future for marvel than the MCU is finished.
Absolute Cringe Fest throughout the season.
I really really really hate this show. It’s stupid and boring and the CGI is horrible at best. It the worst thing is the decision to have a forth wall breaking thing. STUPIDEST. IDEA. EVER!!! If possible I would give this a minus rating.
Another "Hit and Miss" for Disney Marvel. Could've been a good show if this stayed in Marvel Netflix instead of Disney Marvel.
The show had potential, but they totally missed the direction of it. If they made her a brutal assassin that is in the ranks of Kingpin or Punisher, the badass that copies her opponents moves, and deals with them in hard hitting gore action it would've been much better show. Instead, they went with some mumbo-jumbo crap, echoing her ancestral spirit, whatever that means. Totally messed up the whole native-american vibe (see Kahhori in "What if" for comparison) and made that part boring as hell.
They put her in a lot of family interactions, where she's supposed to show emotions but instead just stands there being as blank as possible. Almost no character development and dialog weren't much of a problem, since she should've been brooding, silent, don't show emotions protagonist, that lets action speak for her, but they made her neither here nor there. All in all, one of the shows to watch, just to check it of you watchlist and then forget about.
Yea, I don’t know about this one.
I’m puzzled as to what I watched here for several reasons that I don’t think I can put into words at the moment but one thing is for certain, this series was not worth the time spent on it.
like predicted, that was absolute garbage
¯\(ツ)/¯
I really wonder what the whole plan was with this season. It looks like they had some specific story in mind, recorded everything. Probably some scenes were not done yet during the whole writers and actors strikes
And then in post-editing someone totally re-wrote the story.
There are loads of flashbacks or supporting scenes that seem to be more about native americans and their roots and customs as a sort of documentary, which in some ways is better developed than the main story itself.
Frankly I dont like the Maya character. I dont like several of the other characters either. And a lot of what we see just doesnt make sense.
You dont go driving hundred of kilometers/miles with a bullet still stuck in your chest.
Maya her endless frowning / angry face gets old quickly. I found myself fast-forwarding most of episode 2. Then I was wondering why I was even bothering with this.
I found Tony's face a little disturbing for some reason.
Not sure what is up with the first like 4 episodes being so cringy.
Sorry, but the premise is just stupid... does anyone actually think that Jarvis needs defragging? There are no backup systems that could prevent Hammer from taking over... And of course, Tony experiments with Banner's blood. Right.
That was dire. Just fanservice nonsense giving Happy all the benefits of Hulk and none of the downside? And strong enough to take on Hulkbuster. Ridic. I know this show is all in good fun but there is usually a decent core to them and this just had too many gotchas to force the Die Hard homage
