Love to see all the great actors from reservation dogs - but it's hard to forget their characters rules from there ...
I usually do not watch TV episodes till after the credits roll but there is actually an after credits scene here that noone should miss!
Just found this on netflix and ended up getting through it very fast. I found the way they handled the underlying addiction topic to be fantastic, as they represent it pretty accurately. This was a hidden gem for me, and my only complaint was how season 3 ended in 2020, and it is now 2024 with no update...
Between 1983 and 1997, Jim Varney gave us the Ernest anthology of films. This series was seemingly resurrected by Martin Scorcese, in this unofficially subtitled addition "Ernest Tap Dances On My Last Nerve For 3 Hours".
Come on folks, this is a Scorcese film. The man who gives us endlessly rewatchable films like Goodfellas, Casino, Wolf of Wall Street. Fantastic pieces of work that will last forever.
This is not such a film.
It is bloated. Poorly paced. Starved of any real emotions for much of its duration. And when the end comes to finally put it out of its misery, it lacks any punch. Much to the chagrin of the director who casts himself in an overly-wrought cameo.
It isn't a catastrophe. De Niro puts in a great day's work, Di Caprio is consumed by the role. There are plenty of fine actors around them doing fine work. It's just a mess of edits and lacking focus.
I struggle to see a great film in this even if the fat was taken off it. It just isn't a masterpiece in hiding. And that's sad because the bones of the story itself is well worth telling.
They say every great fighter has one great fight left in him. I wonder if we have seen that already from Scorcese and this is one fight too many...
Spectacular movie, but also very sad since it was Paul Reubens's last movie.
Felt like watching some Space witches show on the syfy channel. Terrible..
Smart, funny and has aged really well over 40 years. Jim Henson's legacy still rings high today.
Unfrosted - :heart:x7
This is simply a fun, silly look at the cereal wars of the 1960s. Bottomline, it put a huge smile on my face - it really is quite silly and fun!!
How I rate:
1-3  = seriously! don't waste your time
4-6  = you may or may not enjoy this
7-8  = I expect you will like this too
9-10  = movies and TV shows I really love!
It’s a ridiculous story…. But funny as hell! The cameos are worth the watch alone.
I do not understand the criticism about this episode, my guess is that it isn't mainstream, plus it is a female lead, she's deaf, yada yada excuse.
I thought the show was a really fun extension to the MCU, as it is not in the cookie cutter mold that has made them so successful. This show is fresh, we see a deep dive into a character who was badass for the short time she appeared, and it was so out of the box per MCU standards, it was something awesome to suddenly have appear.
Can't wait for the next episode!
I enjoyed it a lot! A fun lowkey comedy for sisters & messy gals… for me it struck the exact right blend of formulaic comforting heartwarming and quirky surprising humor. whoever created this part for Sandra Oh is a genius too
Consistently funny; this is a delightful and wonderfully performed comedy.
There is no logical explanation as to why I (secretly) love this movie. It makes me laugh every. single. time. It must be the perfect casting, Steve Zahn especially. This movie and "That Thing You Do" are his two funniest roles, IMO. Neil Diamond's appearance (and actual role in the movie) is the icing on the inexplicably delicious cake.
this was epic! was laughing so much, "like father, like father, like son!"
Funny that the returning word in the episode titles is "Woe", which is the common abbreviation of "Woensdag", the dutch word for "Wednesday".
