Not really review just wondering why every first episode of a new series starts at 10% on the rating. Does someone come and rate every new episode a 10%?
This was about as bland and generic a first episode could be. Very disappointed in this one.
The one downside to this arc is how easy it has seemed for the heroes, the last part with Twice was the best thing I have seen from MHA in a while
about as average as average can be. If it wasn't for the connection to silence of the lambs this would just be another NCIS/CSI clone.
Decent first episode, what I liked most about it was the animation and setting. They were both well realized and added a lot to a conventional story. One thing this show needs to do going forward is to make the main character more likable as she lacks the depth and relatibility that characters such as Ginko (Mushi-Shi) and Kino (Kino's Journey) have which are similar main characters in stories like this. Her arrogance is not charming trait and graits by the time she learns her lesson that really has nothing to do with it and just that she takes to much on which was disappointing.
It's kind of sad how much this show has fallen in my opinion since its very impressive first season. The story has gotten stale, they've become more concern with ticking boxes for the fandom instead of actually progressing the story in any meaningful way. Characters seem to be going in circles especially in regards to Claudia and Viren. The story of a kid king is also frustrating annoying as it simplifies the story removing the depth that could have present in the story as now its just choose peace instead of hate which is not a topic that the writers of this show have proven that they can handle past surface level ideology. What has always been the saving grace of this show even in its worst moments has been Callum and Rayla as their chemistry and story seems to be the strongest aspect of the show and when we have to focus on the kingdom and war story the show suffers for it with a mish mash of cardboard characters and muddled ideals that after three seasons still haven't reached the point of captivating the way its supposed to be which in turn affects the stakes of the overall show. Even removing Ezran from Callum and Rayla has made his character one-note in his choose peace approach. In the end, The Dragon Prince is a netflix show for better or worse with more focus on appeasing fandoms and twitter instead of creating captivating story.
might be one of the more awkward and uneven pilot episodes I've seen. A potentially good story is marked by cringe worthy fan-service and paper thin characters.
A very disappointing first episode. I mainly watched this for Iko Uwais but this convuluted mess of a first episode is going to make it hard to hang on. The story felt like two different shows a fantasy action show and a cop showneither which were that interesting. The episode also had really awkward CGI when it became a fantasy show. The characters felt like types especially Katheryn Winnick's, Christine Gavin, character whose whole purpose was just to put down all the male characters she came across and the drug addict brother played by Lawrence Kao who was the family screw up to the golden child sibling. The only good thing in the episode was the action and if I want to see Iko Uwais in action I'll watch the raid, headshot, or the night comes for us which are all better than this show.
Not a bad first episode, animation, directing, and the music were the best parts sadly the characters that are being focused on seem very cliched with a predictable story to boot but I'll hang in there with it until it gives me a reason not to because I'm a sucker for shows based around music.
