The Meg.
Alternative title: Everything wrong with contemporary Hollywood in 2 hours.
Alternative title II: This one’s for you, China.
Just shut up, Meg.
2/10
This is one of the biggest letdowns in years. You simply cannot go wrong with Fassbender, until you go voiceover all the way! The story is never thrilling, clever or original… it’s just a B-movie that was reanimated for a Netflix release. It somehow gave me the same disappointment as George Clooney in The American, but think that movie won by a margin… skip this movie and enjoy the better 2023 releases.
Jason Clarke? Really? Please Hollywood, stop hiring this guy... he's awful.
10 for the first story line and 5 for the others.
I hoped a lot from this movie because of The Conjuring and Annabelle but it was not so good. Story was very simple. At most of the scenes i was laughing instead of getting shocked. I was also to blame for getting so hyped up!
I had hope due to the director and some good casting. Then they added John Cena....lol.
Streamed via HBO Max
Story-wise, it's the weakest compared to other MonsterVerse films. This film is more focused about Kong if you're wondering. I couldn't stand that Millie girl, to be fair I wish the human parts would be removed because I only want to see Godzilla & Kong fighting. But it's entertaining to watch.
really good! not expecting the end!
One of the few cases where the sequel is as good, if not better than the original. Now I patiently wait to complete the trilogy with 28 Months Later (come on Danny, hurry up).
Not nearly as good as the first. A little up it's own hindside which moves from suspense to being kind of dull. 5/10
Extremely enjoyable, no ideologies being pushed, and an excellent choice for Father's Day
A strong independent woman it's not happy until she puts the whole world in danger.
To enjoy this film you have to buy into its weirdness. I did and had a good time with it, despite the bonkers plot. Cage is great here bringing his usual brand of cool and he is clearly having a good time in the role.
I liked a couple scenes... glad I didn't go to the theater to see it.
Wow, a nice surprise! I felt some Last of Us vibes.
After Terminator: Dark Fate, you all need to give this movie an apology.
People gave me a hard time for watching every movie in the Sharknado franchise.
That has NOTHING on this movie and just how bad it is.
At least Sharknado knew it was bad and worked off that. This movie feels as though it thinks its actually serious and a good movie.
JFC. I can’t even.
Glad to have a sequel of Sicario. Allthough first part was better, this still is worth watching to skip some time. Build-up was good, but the plot seemed rushed. So it can feel like a dissappointment.
the animation was phenomenal, story was sad and so, so good. definitely going to be in my top 20, if not top 10
This movie is a decent homage to Reservoir Dogs, but ultimately pretty forgettable. It's hard to see the point when Reservoir Dogs has been around so much longer, and is still just significantly better.
It never really felt like the main character of Gannon was ever in any danger, regardless of the secrets he was keeping.
The cast of characters was initially pretty fun, until they all started acting in ways no real person in their situation would act like.
There are worse movies. But that's not much of a recommendation.
I may be biased but... any movie gets 5x better with Nic Cage in it.
Death of the parents is again at the center of a horror movie. With "Relic" (2020), introduces again the feeling of pain turned into terror within a family. Bertino uses these resources to build an atmosphere that is always unsettling. Apart from some imbalances in its execution, we are facing a solid film that again, as in "The strangers" (2008), builds an external threat that is the mirror of an internal flaw.
First part was way better...
