The ending didn't make sense to me.
Why would the kid saying that Vijay gave her the toy implicate him or Kat? As per their police statement, Vijay had met Kat & her kid at the church and then they all drove to Kat's home too. So he can say he had given the toy to the kid during any of that time. How does that make him look guilty?
Also, why would Kat wear the ring Vijay was offering? That would make HER look like an accomplish; that both of them were lovers and did the murder together.
Such an inspiring movie that is a must watch. Even though it might seem cinematic / dramatic at very few instances, the directory and the entire crew has done an excellent job of conveying a simple and worth noting message.
There are two things that are basis of this world. Poverty / Riches and Education
This film is incredibly racist, from the colonizer's perspective, and it doesn't exactly respect women. Unsurprisingly, Rudyard Kipling - who wrote the poem that this film was based upon - was an imperialist.
That being said and acknowledged, I am a Cary Grant fan and the humor & adventure really worked for me. I enjoyed this film while being hyperaware of its faults.
Here's a reddit comment that I appreciated which shares further perspective on the film: https://tinyurl.com/45yp9etk
"Why she wouldn't even hurt a fly."
Dude, Anthony Perkins is so good. So so good. So good in fact it's kinda epic. Also, Janet Leigh has such expressive eyes, which explains why the camera is always focus on her face.
At one point while watching the movie, I was reaching for my drink until a certain scene caught me off guard and froze me in place. That scene is where Marion Crane is waiting at the traffic light and sees her boss crossing the street, both locking eyes. It is more effective if you watch it yourself.
Why do I have a feeling Alfred Hitchcock was a serial killer in a past life.
Both films are fantastic but second definitely scores higher than the first with more action, better camera work and affects were so much better and definitely was more noisier than the first and loved the ending and hoping it doesn’t end there because I’d love a 3rd movie, back story on the aliens would be nice but wouldn’t mind if they still keep it quiet..
Great horror thriller about Jigsaw who chooses "unworthy" people not appreciating their lives (like drug addicts) and gives them 2 choices: die or make a major sacrifice (like cutting of your leg, slicing up the belly of an innocent, etc.). He communicates with his victims via video tapes. Very cool ending and great plot-twists!
This could very well be a prequel to a movie about a serial killer.
This was exactly what I hoped it would be. A great story with a little bit of mystery and a mix of the paranormal and religious.
As others have mentioned, Jonathan Rhys Meyers does a fantastic job with each personality.
The last shot is perfect. Exactly what I expected, but perfect.
Bellatrix, Snape, Peter Pettigrew, Grindelwald, and Jace Wayland all in the same movie!
This film was way ahead of its time. I love how it reels you in, and never lets you go.
☼ a masterpiece ☼
someone: what’s up?
me: thinking about The Korean Gothic Lesbian Revenge Thriller That’s Captivated Cannes
beautiful acting, great directing, astounding writing, i simply love being slapped in the face by plot twists and this was an especially amazing movie because it not only had one twist but two!
i mean i had to take a fukcing step back because that shook me in the best possible way god bless you chan-wook
Short and to the point, no unnecessary stereotypical prison scenes.
I thought I would only see Harry Potter, but he was truly someone else in this movie. Good acting and definitely worth a watch if you're into prison break movies.
Another French 'comedy' where they confuse the words mean and funny.
Also, I'm so effing tired of films about how difficult it is to be white and rich.
idk ig im on another planet bc i literally loved this movie haha it reminds me of the older teen comedies we used to get and i found it hilarious and super charming will def become one of my comfort movies
Childhood is not a state and a time that never returns, but a state and the ability to see the world with a child's heart and everything in front of you becomes pure and bright. We have had all kinds of traumas, but we should be happy today. -- Wang Zengqi
Director has a clear vision on what is expected and how to deliver it. Even though there are some lengthy sequences that feel unnecessary, he has packed the movie as a complete package without disappointing the audience on their expectations.
Definitely watch both the movies as they have defined a new genre of Heroism in Indian Cinema.
More masterpieces can be expected from Prashant Neel.

A beautiful idea but written like crap. The characters have useless and nonsensical dialogue, you can totally see that it's scripted and not dialogue that two normal people would tend to do in such a situation, for example, a child dies "Yoo we should talk about what's going on", or when in the cave there's Chrystal who doesn't want to be seen and there's Trent who keeps lighting the match, despite her throwing rocks at her. Okay Trent. Bad, weird acting from everyone except Thomasin. It's not explained why the island causes these effects, it's not explained why the hotel brings them there, or at least partially, because I understand that they are illegally testing drugs on people like the woman with the seizures, but what about the others? What exactly did they try to treat them? And finally the classic ending "..and they all lived happily ever after" after all that happened, without being the least bit traumatized by what happened. And how will their life go on now that they are 50 years old but not even a penny since until yesterday they were children?
Ok Shyamalan, you made a pretty shitty movie.
4/10
Oh fuck. I need two hours back. Olivia could play a cucumber, but the story has no point. The trailer shows us one thing and we get a whole different movie.
The weird family, the flashbacks, the story is there, but it was so poorly edited/written.
I wanted to love it but I agree with others that the writing and editing/pacing did not work for me. Stellar performances from a powerhouse cast weren't enough to make me give a shit about whatever the story was trying to say. I like slow burns, I like character pieces, I like messy people, but somehow all of these elements never gelled together for me in this film.
Pretty tense edge-of-the-seat thriller, ruined by a few plot holes and the ending
don't waste your time on this nonsense remake instead go and watch the original mulshi pattern which is filled with great actors and emotions this movie does not feel the same. I am guessing Salman has hit rock bottom in south industry to remake from so he turned to other regional languages and taped into "Mulshi Pattern" but couldn't do justice with his and others bland acting
Aside from some anime-inspired(?) over the top silliness is this a quite good movie about the relationship and the hardships of an unexpected "father" and his "daughter".
"Grandma says death doesn't exist, and we die when the others forget us."
I really love this movie. You can feel the Mexican magic every minute. Thank you Pixar for this gorgeous movie!
Come on you guys with the low ratings -- don't be so critical and snobbish. Enjoy the sweet love story and beautiful scenery of New Zealand. The village and the residents were charming. Makes you want to live there. So what if it was somewhat predictable. The lead couple was attractive and made you root for them. The story was simple, entertaining, and satisfying, with a happy ending. As for the film overall, I found it refreshing because there was no swearing and vulgarity.
My Score 6/10.
Why would you cast someone with an Australian accent in a romcom that is has the whole "running away to New Zealand" as a key feature? And then he wears denim jackets and denim shorts?
And then most unrealistic of all - a small NZ town with a volunteer fire brigade with a proper fire engine, and a doctor. And a Series 1 Landrover with a handbrake that works?
The movie itself is pretty standard romcom stuff - life collapses, move to new life, meet new person, have rocky relationship, and then finish the movie.
I am a sucker for the rom-com genre and as predictable as this movie is, I like it, because let's be honest, most movies in this genre are very predicable.
Classic girl meets boy scenario. Hate/love kind of thing that eventually develops in true love destined to happen (speaking in the clichés of a true rom-com).
Small town full of cheery people with the exception of one who by the end of it still manages to capture your heart. Gabriela and Jake are adorable, the chemistry was there. Nice pace to the story and of course the satisfaction of a very very very happy ending.
It's funny how all these romance movies are exactly the same and yet we still keep watching them. The truth is, we all know what is going to happen before we even watch the movie. But we still watch and still somewhat enjoy them even though they're overly cheesy and predictable. My biggest take away: I want to go to New Zealand!
In terms of acting, music, and cinematography this movie is spot on. Excellent acting by Tapsee and Vikrant. Kudos to the music and camera department and actually all except for the story writing part. Like, WHAT!?
That climax should have been in the dustbin. Cz it was so bad. (--_--)
If I were in Rani and Rishu's shoes I would have cut Neel into pieces and then given him to the dogs. And bones? I would have burned them to ashes.╮( ˘ 、 ˘ )╭ Case solved, for the most part, that is. They had to close the case anyway. Also, no body no proof. And we are talking fiction here. At least a little realistic one on my end. This movie has fiction on a different level. (・・ ) ?
It is worth the watch though, just for the acting and the beauty of the movie. Story? It's good, except for the ending. I liked that Rani and Rishu were together in the end.♡ ~('▽^人)
Again, Tapsee and Vikrant are amazing actors. ヽ(♡‿♡)ノ They do such a good job in this movie that their acting redeems the somewhat bad script. (¬‿¬ )
