This movie is just as good as you would expect a movie titled baby driver would be.
The plot is incredibly foreseeable, the characters aren't that interesting, and the whole backstory as to how the main character baby ended up in this position was incredibly far fetched. But the movie isn't all bad, it has some great action scenes, and the way music is used is down right genius. The plot may be terrible, but i would still recommend watching the movie purely for its soundtrack. The songs were great, and it was such big part of the story, i loved the scenes in which they synced the beats up with the gun shots. Sadly i can't rate it higher than a 5 overall.
"What kind of a man makes a phone call like that?"
Nothing to add here after that.
3 and a half hours of a movie trying to understand THAT. I must say the time just flew by. Now that is a sign of a great movie.
Probably Scorcesse's best movie since The Goodfellas.
❞Carpe Diem. Seize the day, boys.
Make your lives extraordinary.❞
One of the best
Say hello to my little friend!
The recent restoration based on the almost-complete version found in Buenos Aires, with the recording of the original orchestral score that was composed for the movie - that's the one you want. The shorter ones that are on Internet Archive are OK too, but you miss so much. There's still 8 minutes missing from the recent restoration though, but the restored one looks so much better (it even has the original title cards, which are much more ornate than the ones you see on the shorter versions).
The movie is probably the pinnacle of 20s German expressionist cinema, and Brigitte Helm is terrific. It's an absolute classic, despite some overacting, and if you like this then I'd also recommend the 1922 Nosferatu, Cabinet of Dr Caligari and ANYTHING with Lon Chaney (sr) in it.
This is the movie i was born to watch.
This movie could’ve been so great but it had a terrible script & poor execution. Visuals were about the only good thing in this movie. So many things unexplained. Rushed ending. And not enough character development.
If you got 90 mins to waste & nothing better going on in your life, watch it. Otherwise move on, you’re not missing anything great.
"Nosferatu" is a milestone from every possible viewpoint and it's one of those very few movies I think everybody should view at least once.
Kurosawa's Rashomon. Scott's Alien, and Blade Runner. Carpenter's The Thing. A masterclass category inhabited by only film's greatest achievements.
And how many horror films can leave you afraid of their antagonist after the movie's over?
one of the most awesomest movies in the entire film history, really breathtaking, 9,5/10.
Brilliant.
Still as good as when I watched it for the first time. Max Schreck is amazing and scary looking, well more creepy looking and it works. The silence really helps creating such an creepy atmosphere. The shadows, Nosferatu rising up from his grave, the rats, the music, everything works.
This is one of my favorite silent films, time flies watching this Murnau masterpiece. And I truly believe it is an essential watch for any film fan. A film based on Bram Stoker's novel before we got the standard set by Bela.
I just simply can not do this film more justice. You just have to see it. In the dark, with surround sound!
I loved this! Had never seen it before tonight. It's really great. All three segments are awesome and the practical effects are good too. It may not be much of a horror, but it's pretty thrilling. And look, I hate cats. I am not a cat fan. But this lead cat is one helluva actor. Top notch cat acting.
Truly a masterpiece of Argentinian television, and I'd dare to say television in general.
It's definitely an interesting and a very well made movie. Willem Dafoe is great. The movie is a little too long though.
Metropolis is one of the most visually impressive movie I've ever seen. It's creative look on the future of Metropolis is both stunning and unique. I'm still blown away from the visuals in this movie, because with a movie that's been released back in the 1920's and looks more convincing compared to the effect's today is really saying something. What I love about this movie is the imagination and the wonder that Metropolis presents is a treat to the eyes. Metropolis is one of the best silent movies I have ever see. The cinematography is magnificent, the film making itself is jaw dropping and this movie should be seen only on the big screen.
Easily one of the great technical accomplishments in cinematic history
There's no need for words. This movie was really awesome, maybe a little bit long but that witchy music....!
Amazing horror/drama.
Great Narrative, great acting, spetacular writting. ... A Master piece.
Ingmar Bergman: the greatest filmmaker of all time.
A masterpiece for horror and silent films. This movie is definitely creepy and gives a whole new meaning to horror. Max Schreck is created a masterpiece playing Nosferatu...he is scary! A must watch for film buffs.
