That's grippin' quality stuff on Netflix from Saulnier again in the mood of Reacher. Action is reduced, realistic, well filmed and fits the thriller story. Build up, pace and camera work well done and I like the cast. As "Green Room" was a little bit more tense and innovative I would give this a good 8. Would like to see more from main Actor and Director.
Just back from a secret screening of this and it had no business being so good.
Better and more fun than most of the recent Marvel movies!
How can a movie about butter be so cheesy?
(Thanks, I'll see myself out.)
I'd say this is definitely in the top 9 of all Fast movies
Great take on a classic character, unexpectedly good and with the best song soundtrack in a while
Astonishingly good. Quiet and incisive exploration of grief and loss and relationships. Don’t doubt and watch it!
This movie isn't for everyone. It's an art house indie movie. Very minimalistic. John Wick meets First Cow with a touch of Nomadland, lol. I liked it.
Pig - :heart:x8
I can't quite put my finger on the reason I liked this movie, but like it I did.
This is certainly one of Cage's better performances. The story is different, yet familiar. Think John Wick without all the action and killing. And somehow, it is a really good watch.
How I rate:
1-3  = seriously! don't waste your time
4-6  = you may or may not enjoy this
7-8  = I expect you will like this too
9-10  = movies and TV shows I really love!
i don't think people realize that the movies that netflix gets the rights to are movies that often don't get to the point of premiering. these are things that would end up in development or premiere hell, a lot of times. so yeah, the casts are great and the movies are usually subpar. i think anyone going into watching a movie that netflix bought the rights to needs to go in with the mindset of it being a b movie regardless of the actors that feature in it.
at least that's my personal rule, and as a result this is one of the better netflix exclusives. the acting was great, all things considered. i will say that it dragged on at certain points and the solution to the problem was pretty obvious from the start, but as someone who's had insomnia since she was four years old, i could FEEL the delirious paranoia. if you've never had sleeping issues before, this probably will feel pointless and boring. if you have, you'll feel the dread and stress the actors are putting out, trust me.
I'm not crying. You're crying. runs away sobbing
On a scale of 1 to ridiculous, I'd rate this f**kin bonkers! Even our teenager was calling out some of the stunts as nonsense.
It's as if the Producers said, "We want a cross between Fast and Furious, Highlander, and the Matrix." Sadly, Mark doesn't disappear into the character like Keanu or Christopher did and all I can see is "Marky Mark" performing the same role he always does. He becomes a distraction to the overall story and that's too bad because this had the potential to be what everyone wants these days, a "Franchise".
Oh well, I guess everything really is a remix.
Was funny when Ed said come over and have dinner and meet Annabelle, the next scene she looked devestated lol.
I knew regardless of what this new version was people would hate! I’m so tired of people being so critical lol. Nothing is going to be as great as the classic and any version of this movie would be compared to the original. It wasn’t fantastic but I didn’t care because I loved seeing Eddie and the rest of the cast in this light. I didn’t go into watching this for any other reason except the nostalgia of it all, and you should to!
[Apple TV +] Overwhelming animated film that's full of brilliant ideas, beautiful designs and old-school animation. This story of growth (perhaps also coming out), confronts freedom with oppression, religion with paganism. The dark, squared village faces the colorful, infinite forest. The own identity (the wolf) that must be found and, above all, accepted, is a theme that respects the intelligence of the viewers.
Ignore the reviews. If you're a gamer and you know this movie IS based on the game, you'll enjoy it! The characters are spot on, the weapons, the look and feel of it.
It's a better adaptation that many other game movies.
This movie was necessary to give people a glimpse into the life of Chairman Fred Hampton as well as the Black Panther Party. I liked hearing that Fred Hampton Jr. was on set every day to see this project actually happen.
Hype. Hype. Hype. Hype. Hype.
Spectacularly good. Timberlake is just shining in this and Ryder Allen's performance is nothing short of amazing, one to look out for in the future for sure.
Aside from the horrific editing throughout the majority of this feature, The Little Things is a gripping crime thriller with a sharp human twist. I'm rather shocked by the level of disdain on here for the ending, as I thought it was much better than simply naming the killer. Having Deke save Jim from the guilt that befell him when he killed an innocent man was a nice twist that I didn't see coming. Sure it doesn't answer the main mystery of the crime, but I'd argue that was never the main storyline of the movie in the first place. It was all about Deke finding peace with his past, while helping his replacement not fall into the same hole that he did. Takes a while to get going, but once it does it's a gripping, enjoyable ride to the credits. (Just try and ignore the 293048023948238 edits during scenes as simple as breakfast at Jim's house)
The Eagle has landed! What an inspiring movie based on a true story, It really lifted me, and came with a great cast followed by a great picture. I didn't know wolverine could ski? Taron egerton ( Eddie The Eagle) such a good actor, played his character great, and loved the face reactions.. I'm sure he'll go far in his acting career, and hope to see him in more films in the near future XD
Short and to the point, no unnecessary stereotypical prison scenes.
I thought I would only see Harry Potter, but he was truly someone else in this movie. Good acting and definitely worth a watch if you're into prison break movies.
So far most of the comments I've seen here have been pretty negative. Personally I very much enjoyed the movie taking it as a fun action ride. Yes, there's been plenty of time loop based movies, but the combination of the good fight scenes, little comical points and nods to other movies combined with the time travel aspects made it to me highly enjoyable. Overall I thought the acting was pretty good for this type of movie from the Grillo, Gibson and Watts and on the whole it was an enjoyable watch.
Let's remember, we never watched the old 80s movies with the classic action stars because they were going to win oscars, they were about having a bit of over the top mindless fun. And this for me fit the bill well
Really good movie, acting, story and everything is really good
"Don't Try To Understand It. Feel It."
Clémence Poesy plays scientist Laura, a character who appears in one crucial scene in which the Protagonist goes to see her and gets the concept of time inversion, and the changing of entropies explained to him.
Laura says this quote, and it pretty much sums the whole movie up. Nolan trusts the audience to figure out stuff on their own and go on the journey with him. At the same time, he will always look at film as a medium to be experiential, to be felt, and loved in as big and as beautiful a way as possible. It is also accurate in that nobody understands this movie the first time around; the only hope is to feel it.
This was a pleasantly charming movie.
Forget about Sherlock Holmes. This movie is about his sister Enola and her view
My friend and I watching Time Trap on Netflix Party:
Her: This must be the first movie ever to mix aliens, cavemen, time travel and teenagers.
[Some time later]
Me: I like your description of "the first movie ever with cavemen and aliens".
Her: And teenagers and time travel and cowboys. Missed those zombies tho.
Me. Gotta save something for the sequel.
I still don’t understand why the Indian ex-special-force who is pretty skilled didn’t try to extract the boy on his own. Hiring a third party then piss them off by not paying them is a bit stupid.
Loved the camera work and the numerous fist and gun fight scenes. The slap on the face of the child-soldier was hilarious :joy:.
I didn’t care too much about the ex-wife and the sick then dead boy backstory. Why are these kind of character always half-alcoholic half-suicidal because they lost a member of their family?!?
All in all an entertaining action movie if you don’t pay too much attention to the script and the use of many cliché .
A great movie that's based on a true story that still rings true to this day. African Americans are incarcerated 5x more than whites and are given 3x longer jail sentences than white people that commit the same crimes. It's sad that In 2020, a person skin complexion can still be a factor in society.
Anyway, Michael B. Jordan and Jamie Foxx were phenomenal in this movie.
