This is an awesome show. From all the different Star Trek TV shows that have been made so far this one is still my favorite, Star Trek: The Next Generation comes in on a close second :)

Some of the episodes like "Blink of an Eye", "Message in a Bottle", "Living Witness" and "The 37's" are extremely well written. The stories have everything and more to make them among science fiction tv shows and movies exceptional. I can still remember those episodes vividly even though it has been years since i have seen them.

The actors all did an amazing job over the 7 seasons in total. You can really watch them grow and evolve from a separate Starfleet and Maquis crew to a unified crew that can take on any challenge or problem that gets in their way.

I really like the red line story of a lone starship that is far from home and is trying to get back that flows through the entire TV show, and it fits perfectly into everything that Star Trek stands for: the exploration of unknown regions, making contact with new species and off course to boldly go where no man has gone before :)

It is really too bad that the careers of main actors of the show never got over the (ironically) "I Am Not Spock" type casting trope (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/IAmNotSpock). It seems that they are forever stuck (as so many other actors of the other Star Trek TV shows) in the minds of millions worldwide even when they are doing something completely different as members aboard the spaceships from Starfleet....

I love that show.

I am sooooo in love with that show!

Usually on a comedy show like Parks and Recreation, the writers need some episodes to introduce the characters. That can be really boring sometimes. But the writers of Parks and Recreation made it possible to fall in love with every character since the 2nd episode. How do they made that in just ~20 minutes for each episode?

This show is fantastic ! Far much better than The Office or 30 Rock . Every character is sooo different and no one is annoying (well Andy maybe).

I watched 5 seasons in a row because I didn't heard anything about this show and I NEVER get bored during watching an episode.

This show gets 9 out of 10 <3 from me.

And I fell in love with Ron Swanson.

Just "Ted" is a little bit annoying. (Which is strange because he's the main character haha)

I am in the middle of the first season but I gonna say: this show is so good !

Since The Walking Dead is getting more and more boring, Homeland's season is over, and Breaking Bad's final season is starting in July I was looking for a TV Show which is exiting, got a central theme in it. Where you get surprised and the acting is good.
A TV show which is realistic and dangerous.

I found all of it with this show!

Since this TV Show is about the cold war I want to compare it with James Bond, and the second reason is I don't want to put spoilers in it:
I am pretty sure you know the older James Bond movies, where Bond is jumping of a cliff with no parachute, into a plane, gets control over the plane, destroying the enemy's base and got no scratches. Superhero Bond. No problems.
And then you know the newer Bond movies with Daniel Craig. Where Bond has problems. He's a drinker. Getting hurt, Getting scratches, simply more realistic.

If you know what I mean, then you know who the show is like.
Two KGB agents who are in the US for some years. Got two children. Have to live their whole life under disguise, which living a FBI Agent next door.
They like in some way there life as normal people and they do like in some way the people of America. But in their point of view the US government is evil. They what to build a anti-missile defense system (google Star Wars Bush), which would make the nuclear arsenal of Russia worthless. And they have to do something against that.

Lets see how the show develops. 9/10

I wouldn't go as far as to say it's better than Homeland, but that's because I love Homeland and it's character development and intertwined plot lines.

That said, I was shocked at how much I enjoyed this show. I was expecting more nbc drivel.. you know.. good for background noise while you're, say, working on a website (Flashback springs to mind..). I ended up completely focused on the show, so well done.

Orange Is The New Black is really a good show, and much different compared to other shows which are currently high rated.

The writers don't need that long to build up the characters. This is what I don't like at the beginning of many shows, because most of the time this is the boring part - until the whole story starts to develop. In Orange Is The New Black you got kicked in right from the start.

The actors are really good . All of them. And well written; and I got to admit that my favorite character is "Red". Not just because Kate Mulgrew played Captain Kathrin Janeway in Star Trek: Voyager, but because the character is build up so strong, and she's got so many facets.

You also get to know her in more backflashes (that explains how the people got into the prison). Some TV shows are using backflashes as well to explain some things, and usually I find that annoying, because it is a hard cut in the current plot; but the director in Orange Is The New Black is doing that so well, that it doesn't me bother at all - just the opposite: I want to know why the women got in there.

After watching the first three episodes I wrote that the show shouldn't be drama. It should be a comedy show. That is not true, after I watched the other episodes. Yes, there are funny scenes in it, but it defiantly got the strong drama parts as well.

I highly recommend to give this show a try, because you might wanna love it!

Interesting how those experts from the CDC are such freaking amateurs.
There's some mutant in the air conditioning, attacking other people.
"Ah, screw it, I am going in there without any protection and search for that mutant 'cause he's my brother." Also interesting what they call SciFi nowadays. This is merely mystery for now in my not glimmering eyes.

I like the premise but the script is at the incredible low standard of The Blacklist's.
Granted, the execution is much better, there are capable actors, it is kinda entertaining and on Helix the people for doing the props have actually an eye for detail/their work in general in opposite to The Blacklist (i.e. they take a frigging screenshot of a Windows TaskManager, put it on the monitor for a plot that involves evil Asian hackers. A screenshot!) but still, some of the script is so logically flawed..
Ep3, "the test doesn't work", yeah, well go figure that one out when you're about to be cut off of any communication and not as soon as you show symptoms. It's not like you worked with that test before, when you thought you might be infected and were concerned about it. In addition that test isn't really important anyway.. Right, Ms. Expert? Suuure.
Gonna stick around for a bit more but I'll heavily doubt it'll be worth it at the end.

BlockedParent2014-02-12T21:07:47Z— updated 2017-07-10T19:39:10Z

Before I started watching this movie, I had high expectations. Reviews and friends told me to expect a real science fiction movie. I've been longing for a real sci-fi flick since "Close Encounters of the Third Kind", "Contact" and "Sunshine". I know people nowadays are calling fiction and fantasy movies sci-fi, but I rather tend to draw a dinstinctive line and emphasize on the word "science".
That being said, the plot is simple, but at the same time realistic. The movie tells the story of humans trying to survive in an utterly inhabitable place - space. It's a movie that will remind kids (and adults alike), spoiled by the strange education they receive through contemporary media, that not everything can be achieved by wishful thinking. Humans are not made for living in space. Every step off earth is a step defying nature. Is that bad or good? That's a decision everyone has to make for himself.

The visuals are stunning. I watched it in 2D and I plan on watching it again in 3D. The spectator has the feeling to actually be there.
At least as important though is the sound. Many filmmakers make the mistake of having sound in space. Of course that's totally ridiculous. The only sound there is, is the sound that's created inside of your space-suit or space-station by the shockwaves that hit it. Throughout the movie I had the feeling they got it right. And actually it didn't make the movie "empty", but quite the opposite, more tense. It intensified the feeling of "this is not a place where I belong".

There was one scene though, I thought wasn't right. When Bullock holds on to Clooney, Clooney should already have the same trajectory as Bullock or the station or he should bounce back. I just don't get what's still pulling him. I think it is a mistake in the movie and a serious one at that.

Anyway, I can overlook that, since the rest of the movie is very good. On IMDB it has a rating of 8.2 right now. I'd give it more like a 7.8. Maybe even less. I guess the rating is a bit high, because for young viewers it is a new experience to see something realistic on the screen.

Should you watch it? Yes, definitely. Should you rewatch it? Maybe, for the CGI and if you haven't seen it in 3D. Certainly not for the story.

Well, I also liked the story. Great movie.

This show absolutely brilliant. Not only do we get to see the difficult decisions an secretary of state has to make, we can understand and sympathize on an emotional level that not many tv shows have the choices that Elizabeth McCord (played by a phenomenal Téa Leoni) has to make between doing what is the best thing for her country, and what is the right thing to do....

I especially like the fact that this is not just a tv show about the secretary of state, even though Téa Leoni is without a doubt the star that makes this tv show better by a factor of 10. No, its the supporting cast around her that makes this one of the better political drama tv shows i have seen in years. I can definitely see some love chemistry between Téa Leoni and Tim Daly (the husband Henry McCord). And the characters of the staff of from secretary are definitely being more developed over each episode.

This is absolutely one of those shows you need to keep an eye on. It has an intelligent script, an awesome cast, and a subject that is very interesting seeing that there is always something going on in the world, and the USA is always poking its nose where it (more often than not) does not belong....
