Not a patch on the original. I didn't mind the character of Dalton but Conor McGregor is just a big no from me. Looked like an animated popeye and he definitely can't act. This is fairly tongue in cheek throughout and then with McGregor borders on the ridiculous.
Decent enough set of series but I keep going back to my earliest comment having been a big fan of the original books. Ryan is an analyst with limited military experience but in this he is effectively special forces and leads from the front.
Another excellent series of episodes with Clarkson bumbling his way through farming with some great laugh out loud moments as well as the serious side of things. One can only hope that the woke brigade do not prevent more series because of Clarkson's ill thought out comments that have landed him in hot water.
I said it after the last series and I'll say it again - this is a decent action packed series but if you have read all of Clancy's books then you know that Ryan is an analyst yet here he leads the way from the front. He isn't a SEAL. How do you get from the Black Sea to a beach of the coast of Athens in a Dinghy passing through the Dardanelles.
The books are absolutely excellent and the first two episodes have been good.
I've given up after episode 4 as this is easily the most tedious thing I've watched in a fair while. I'm actually finding Hammond quite grating. It's a pity as I do like Hammond along with Clarkson and May on the grand tour.
So I binge watched this last night and my initial impressions are that it wasn't as good as the first series and I found the psychiatrist to be annoying in the extreme. This was just a bit over the top and the pub scene where the psychiatrist was with his cronies was cringeworthy. I will probably watch the series again as there were many really poignant and uplifting scenes. Gervais still does a great job of portraying the loss suffered by his character.
Another excellent series of Narcos and I hope that a follow up is on the cards.
I found this a bit of a slog to be honest but I thought that it was well made. A lot of it didn't make sense to me as I'm British and therefore American history isn't my strong subject. Sharon Tate meant nothing to me and throughout the film I kept wondering why she was so prevalent in the second act.
Having read some of the other posts/comments I get it now so I may well have to watch this one again a some point.
Excellent acting from Hopkins and Price and a very enjoyable film.
Really enjoyed this one with the exception of the British accents that I felt were a bit over the top and grating.
Firstly this has decent action but is completely spoiled for me by the failure to portray Jack Ryan as he is meant to be by the author. Remember he's an analyst but in this series he's an action hero all the way. If your making another series don't call it Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan because it bears no resemblance to that. Too far fetched!
Just a brilliant conclusion to the series. Clarkson being upset really moved me. Such a shame to lose this series but hopefully there will be plenty of specials because these guys are just great.
