“The Chronicles of Narnia” is based on a series of novels by C. S. Lewis. When four children Lucy, Susan, Edmund, and Peter stumble into an old Wardrobe they find themselves in a magical land called Narnia with talking animals, fauns, hags, the Wicked White Witch, and the great lion Aslan
The Chronicles of Narnia has been adapted several times, complete or in part, for television, radio, the stage, film, in audio books, and as video games.
(1967) ITV created a televised miniseries adaptation of the novel, The Lion, the Witch, & the Wardrobe, now believed to be lost.
(1979) The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe was adapted as an animated television program that was broadcasted in two parts on CBS.
(1988 – 1990) the British BBC produced a made-for-television miniseries based on the first four of the seven books, (1988) The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe; (1989) Prince Caspian & the Voyage of The Dawn Treader & (1990) The Silver Chair
(2005 – 2010) “The Chronicles of Narnia Movie collection” based on the seven novels by C. S. Lewis, three movies were created:
- The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe (2005)
- The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian (2008)
- The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (2010)
(2018) Netflix has acquired the rights to turn CS Lewis's fantasy book series The Chronicles of Narnia into “multiple” film and TV productions.
