CAN THEY PLEASE TIE ARTURO UP? FOR CHRIST'S SAKE. God, I'm so angry at this bullshit. Since the first heist he has been trying to get into people's head, planning things, stealing items etc., but they still let him whisper and get away with everything? I'm so fucking tired of him manipulating people around him, dragging them into his mess, messing things up and repeating it over and over again. It annoys me so much that I'm so close to just skipping his scenes because it's not entertaining at all.
The scenes with Nairobi just felt like "torture porn" to me, simply for shock value.
And that whole ending just pissed me off even more tbh. They made her life/death situation a big cliffhanger in the last part, but now she still ends up dying? And they added these weird things about her suddenly wanting to marry Bogota and having the Professor's child which was such cheap and nonsensical death flags.
I'm officially not enjoying this show anymore at all and hope they won't renew for another part. This is not the show I enjoyed during the first heist. It has turned into complete soap opera trash with dumb characters and ridiculous plot armor and no logic.
In my opinion it carries a contradictory massage and broadcasts bad reputation of the black community. Moreover, I have ultimately emphatized with Sal becasue of the ruin of his life's work, but obviously the creator's intention was black people are still in the late 80's (and nowadays as well) being suppressed and are the victims of police brutality.
I loved how the camera work was shown the big fish-little fish dynamic. I mean the camera has shown the ones who are in a dominant position over and the ones who are in the submissive position under.
The movie holds a stong statement that black people can't live freely even in their neighbourhood, becasue the police could raid them down any time like when Radio Raheem got strangled by white policemen.
But why I ultimately could emphatize Sal at the end? Beacuse if we take into consideration who are working in that neighbouthood and how many of them black people I could count only two, Mookie and Senor Love Daddy. All the others just hanging around on the streets and doing nothing useful. Sal is the one who has built a pizzeria and an existence in the middle of a black neighbourhood, because he saw a market gap.
And okay, I understand they are bothered by the absence of black celebrities' pictures on the wall, wich represented to them they do not matter, but it's nonsense to me that it's worthy to start a sort of gang war against an old pizza guy. They are frustated the way they being treated every day for sure but this move is not the solution. I mean the gang war against Sal.
Furthermore, policemen's behaviour was unacceptable how they handled the fight between Sal and Radio Raheem, and how they killed the latter. However, the answer which was given, violence to brutality was not the right thing to do, beacuse the broad audience's opinion remains the same or gets worse if they seeing such demolition which the black people are pulled off.
Without a doubt one of the best films released in my lifetime. I absolutely love A.A. Milne and I believe that if every adult continues to read the Winnie-the-Pooh stories, the world would be a better place. Like millions of other people, these stories were part of my childhood, and as I grew up, I began to research more about the man who created them. I found the life of Alan Milne just as fascinating as the books. His background definitely played a part in how deep these children's stories are. While they may be deep, they're never dark, which is an astonishing achievement from an author who suffered with post traumatic stress.
Every part of this film works wonderfully. The acting is superb by every member of the cast, the camera work and lighting is second to none. The editing is phenomenal. The music helps create the nostalgic atmosphere of the whole film. But the storytelling is what makes it work so well.
It really is an emotional journey through the past, especially for anyone who cares so much about the people who are portrayed in the film. There's references from the original stories throughout the film (which shows what inspired him to put these ideas in.) But I think even for those who are not as familiar with the books, it is still a magnificent film. It will certainly give any viewer a better appreciation of the Milne family and the wonderful world of Winnie-the-Pooh.
The German nihilists, the feminist artist, the porn manager, the crazy phedophile, the crippled fake business tycoon, the Vietnam-war obsessed psycho and off course the Dude: a lazy deadbeat lowlife. The Big Lebowski sure has a lot of colourful personages which in my opinion is one of the reasons this movie is one of the best i have ever seen.
This is one of the many masterpieces from the Coen brothers, i wish i could congratulate them myself because they are geniuses. The music, the script and the cast are beyond fantastic. This is a masterpiece that only comes along in movies a few times in a decade. This is one of those movies that is and always will be a cult classic. I cannot say that this is the best movie that the Coen brothers ever made, but only because they made so many exceptional movies. But its definitely high up the list.
My favorite part is Gutterballs, when the Dude has some kind of hallucination. The music was just perfect together with the show Jeff Bridges and Julianne Moore put on. I can't tell you how often i saw that part, that was just awesome.
Anyone should see this movie at least once in his lifetime. But once you've seen it i can guarantee you that you want to see it again.
