Really bad movie with a super rushed narrative. I haven’t read the books so i can’t say anything about it’s fidelity. Half the time it fails by not giving you the information needed, so you don’t understand why things are the way there are. The other half is someone explaining what’s happening so fast he/she doesn’t have time to breathe, let alone allow the words to sink in, therefore it doesn’t create emotion. To me is a 3/10 and only because of the good special effects and originality of the story’s idea.
And to be clear, came to see without watching any trailers or synopsis, and without seen any reviews or critics. Sad, I’ve never seen Disney fail like this.
I can't believe I waited nearly 20 f*cking years for this to be the end result.
Disney absolutely BUTCHERED the books to the point where the characters aren't recognizable AT ALL.
The story makes absolutely NO SENSE whatsoever. Even if you didn't read the books and you know nothing about Artemis and his world, the movie has no discernible plot, no character growth, terrible acting all around, horrible script... I could go on but honestly I'd rather just reread the books and forget I ever watched this.
A disgrace is what this movie is.
They drained the wondrous world of Artemis Fowl of all its charm, wit, and heart. It fell flat on its face, and it never got back up.
“ - Jane Smith: Any last words?
- John Smith: The new curtains are hideous.”
Just a superb rage-action movie. Will remind you of what it means to be a man.
I don't get why Ash/Satoshi gets so much hate. He honestly makes me like the anime way more than the games.
Classic! I love you robin willams.. you live in your films...
Never seen it until today. Still a good Movie even if the SFX are outdated, seems like a timeless Classic.
This man is supposed to be the smartest in the group lol. Ross is so dumb :joy:
Total awesome. My heart was in my throat continuously watching this. Great visual style, Awesome soundtrack, and one of the best movie openings I've seen in a while. The chemistry between Gosling and Mulligan is palpable. One suggestion when you watch it - turn the lights down and the sound up - it is a movie that requires your undivided attention...
Is this gonna be a stand up fight sir...or another bug hunt??
Boy I expected more out of this given its reputation. It's too long. It takes forever to get to the good stuff. It has the older guy who dated Kelly on SBTB. On the plus side it has Ironside and Clancy Brown. I don't know...its a fun movie but didn't live up to its rep.
UPDATE: I'd like to say that I was a real dumdum when I said the above stuff and now have seen the light on Starship Troopers and how it rules. Many thanks to the Action Boyz for helping me realize we got a perfect movie on our hands.
How a gory, cliche filled, fascist dream can be so entertaining is beyond me, but entertaining it is...
This sci-fi romp is HIGHLY underrated. Highly entertaining and actually thought-provoking in its own way, Starship Troopers delivers a couple of hours of entertainment you'll not soon forget.
The script is loosely based on a book by renowned, sometimes controversial, sci-fi author Robert A. Heinlein, but deviates a lot from the book. If you have read it, you might be disappointed, but I doubt it...
Recommended to anyone with even the slightest interest in sci-fi.
Firstly I just want to point out that this rating is purely from my 4 and 7 year olds perspective. The film itself was OK from my point of view, but my kids loved it and they were what matters here. The acting is good from some well known stars, an average storyline and some good comedic elements as well. My7 yr old daughter loves anything with a baby in it so this hit all the right chords with her.
This, to me, is the funniest episode of the entire series and the height of the show's writing, plotting and execution. The "surrogate", the "mole", the suit, the Japanese investors, Gob's plan, Rita's "secret", everything just came together and paid off perfectly. I love this show.
Legend has it that Barney is still on that train.
i think of it like this: if youre going to eat a sandwich, you would just enjoy it more if you knew no one had fucked it.
Now THAT is how you write a final episode!
Stunning episode. The wonderfully unexpected "Get Happy" cover during the episode was absolutely fantastic and beautifully choreographed. Hugh and Lisa both have great singing voices.
I found foreman insufferable here
Beautifully crafted episode. I am falling more and more in love with the show and the characters. I hope they all get to tell their stories.
so funny, DANI ROJAS ... DANI ROJAS ... DANI ROJAS ... DANI ROJAS :D
So damn bad, just don't bother.
So awful I couldn't finish it
This has to be one of the most disjointed films I have seen in a long time. The story has plot holes the size of the grand canyon. Characters that quickly fall out of character. I mean, a crack soldier that starts spouting on about the sanctity of life on a mission, really? Kids that catch up to the soldiers after watching them pass in armoured vehicles down a ring road/motorway. What, they are the fastest runners ever and not to mention their tracking skills must be second to none! One minute they are in a tower block estate, next they are walking around in countryside without their armoured vehicles. The soldiers don't know the basics of working as a group. Usually there can be a bit of humour in this type of film, but nope, none to be had. All this and there's a proper contrived "deus ex machina" moment to act 3. It's really bad, avoid it. Rating 2 only because some work went in to the effects. If not for that, 1 as the execution of the plot is arse.
Epic
Screw you, Michael. I really hate you, you are a very bad person really!! And you can't just justify it because of your son, so fuck you!
