I haven't been hooked to a TV show like that since Prison Break.
You might hear that Squid Game is a violent TV show but there's honestly so much more to remember from it.
There's lot of morality about the human race and how far people can go for money.
For me it was definitely the best thing on television this year :100:
Explosions, Sci-Fi and Action. It's enjoyable to watch and doesn't require too much thought. It's well made, and you're never quite sure what's behind everything which continues right up until the end. Don't give it too much thought and you'll enjoy it!
One of the best SCI FI film this 2018 i've enjoyed the mystery the effects the characters and the story .. Yes they took some story elements from FINAL FANTASY SPIRITS WITHIN with the idea of Phantoms just twist it a little bit to become scientific and more realistic but all in all i'm entertained .. I don't ask a lot from movies and don't nit pick too much all i want is a good movie where i can have fun .. Highly recommend and so far i love most of NETFLIX'S original movies not gonna lie ..
I remember around the initial release of this film, the general noise floating around was that it was just a bit rubbish.
Having seen the film, that criticism seems a little heavy-handed and unfair given that the film is perfectly fine. It is an action film with an interesting twist, held together by a loose sci-fi mechanism that tries far too hard to be convincing.
(A pretty basic rule of science-fiction is not to just mix up a bunch of real science terms to pretend and pretend it is something utterly unrelated to those science terms)
But, for all its faults, tropes, and corniness, it was still a fun action movie which didn't overstay its welcome.
Also, no stupid, hamfisted romance that is completely unbelievable. So that is appreciated.
Remarkable good movie.
Jump-scares? Nope. Gruesome scenes? Nope. Childrens crying or screaming? Nope. Rain and thrunder? Nope.
It does NOT have properties of common wannabe horrors but instead focuses on the horror of unknown.
I am not a horror person but I certanily enjoyed Pandorum!
I was positively surprised by this movie. I would not say that it is a great movie but it is definitely worth watching. The movie plays on the classical horror elements with its dark and claustrophobic setting, horrific things that go bump in the dark and some rather psychopathic behavior for added flavor.
I would say that the story is somewhat original. Sure if you take each element of the story individually then most of them have been done before but the way they are tied together and with the additional twists I would say that the story did indeed surprise me somewhat.
I cannot say that the movie kept me on the edge by its horror qualities but then, after having seen enough various horror movies you kind of get too used to them to be scared anymore. It has its share of nasty creatures and some blood splatter to go with them. The monsters, the effects and the dark and gritty scenery works quite well although some of the areas of the ship seemed to be designed more for cinematic effect than having any logical or practical purpose on a spaceship.
It is somewhat difficult to write a review of this movie because much of it qualities and originality lies in the various twists, some predictable and some less so, in the story and a spoiler would definitely ruin this movie.
The acting is on par with the movie. Not great but decent enough. Both Dennis Quaid and Ben Foster performed their roles quite well.
As I wrote above, definitely a movie worth watching, preferably sometime after the sun has set and the younger kids have gone to bed.
