@rapgod13 totally with u, dude. I don't understand so much hate with this tv show, it is so good. And despite what some people said, DD wasn't the only thing good about it. Instead it made a great show even better. I can't understand what this people is complaining about.

I know anime is mostly a advert for the light novels or manga.... I read the translated web novel (before the author switched to LN only, no english publisher yet) and the manga which is based on the light novel... If I had watched this episode before that, I wouldn't have bothered... The core story is vaguely there, but they gutted all the detail and interesting bits from it.
If you like the concept of this, go read the manga anyway... I swear it's not this bad

I just felt that the story was progressing so much faster than it should and when I tried comparing to the mamga, I thought I was making a mistake because the story began at a different point, with him as a child.

@deathnetworks dude, I've watched before reading any of these and trust me. Even without reading them, the anime still feels rushed... I hope it gets a slower pacing after this episode cause it was kinda too fast
I've never found 1941's 'Dumbo' anything extraordinary, in all honesty.
While Dumbo is extremely cute and simply adorable, he's the only great thing that this film has going for it. The animation, even when compared to that of Disney's first two films, isn't that good. It's very cartoony, none of the characters have aged brilliantly in that regard.
The voice talent aren't anything grand, though that's expected given the main character doesn't speak. Edward Brophy's Mouse is amusing, though he's arguably a cut-and-paste of Jiminy Cricket from 'Pinocchio'.
The message of the film is a little blurred, also. It certainly teaches the audience not to judge a book by its cover, but you expect it to stir up questions about circuses and the way the animals are treated, e.g. Dumbo's mother, but it never truly does.
There's also a scene where Dumbo enters a hallucinogenic state which begins funnily, though really does go on for too long. It feels like it's just there to fill the already slacking run time, which adds to my belief that it's a film that was rushed out to make money - that could be me being overly cynical, though.
Reading this review back, it does come across as if I hate the film - I don't, I just think it has a number of flaws to it.

This movie is so overrated, in my opinion... we can debate on social massage, but the movie is just full of plot holes and unanswered questions! 4 out of 10 from me....

To be honest, the animation is nice, there's a huge work made with it and the sounds choices, the technique is good. But the story is boring as fuck and way too long for what it is, ok it's poetic blah blah blah but tooo looong! I don't understand all the critics that says that it is insane and one of the bests, for me all these critics sound so fake. After finishing watching it, I had the feeling of having lost my time. It would have been better in a short film format. Not worth it to watch, I advice just to watch to enjoy the animation but not the story, and no need to watch till the end just to see how the guy lost his hand and tries to seduce the girl --> lost it with a wood engine, work he has started because he was stalking the girl and her uncle is the owner that's it.

@tati_97 I've watched with two other friends, with different tastes in movies. None of us liked. Felt like a waste of time to the three of us.
For those who didn't understand the episode,in the first scene the man killed the woman,the 'same woman' saw the murder and she run away.In the end she was her who killed the man,the 'same man' saw the murder so he became the witness and that take us back to the first scene and the loop goes on.
