The best new Star Wars film in three decades and one of the most satisfying films of the year.
a high school romantic comedy thats actually good? and its gay? please make more movies like this. it has a great cast and lots of heart.
Watching this in a totally white audience was an experience. The little titters and nudges when 'make america great again' was mentioned, or about police officers shooting unarmed black people, or even one becoming president; to the we won mentality at the final phone call.
Then the deathly silence with the current footage being shown. I think quite a few people realised it's not just references.
These people still exist today.
They still have their rallies.
They still have their marches.
They still murder in uniform.
And they still hold these abhorrent views.
I think I even heard some people sniff away some tears right at the end once they saw the footage and heard the words of people who were there.
Enjoy the film; enjoy the jokes (it is a funny film) but make no doubt the characters shown still exist.
I read this comment about the movie which said "It felt like reading a good book, which is the highest compliment I can give to a film." and I couldn't be more precise .

John Krasinski has proven to have a decent level of craftsmanship behind the camera but this movie proves that he should be kept away from screenwriting.
I’m really surprised at a lot of the positive reviews because the plotting and beats in this movie are super dumb. There is a small hint at the level we are working at when we are with Krasinski on “Day 1” where we get a small peek at life before the aliens came and they make a choice to drop in an Easter egg reference to the toy spaceship that gets his child killed from the first one. It’s a seemingly innocuous little call back, foreshadow, wink, knudge, whatever, but it is a perfect example of the types of choices made in this movie. I mean not to ruin anything but essentially an alien pilots a boat in this film. Overall it just bugged me.
A Christopher Nolan movie about Albert Einstein's theories of gravity fields, wormholes and several hypotheses :O :O :O
Yaaaahoooooooo - I CAN NOT WAIT!
THIS. IS. SO. GOOD. the kind of movie i can see a thousand times and it will never get bored
The Secret Life of Walter Mitty was good. There's not really much substance to it and the whole thing essentially amounts to "Just Do It", but it's still entertaining and looks incredible. The scenery and colours are just beautiful. It was pretty well acted and paced, the characters were likeable, the script was good and the product placement was blatant.
This movie was very moving to me. There is a lot to learn from this movie about the way you live your life and what is important to you. I felt like I was and have been on a similar journey to the protagonist, and like him, I felt like I was growing from the (over)joyous attitude and comments of this girl. There is a lot of good to this movie, and I would recommend to anyone who is struggling with thoughts of mortality and connecting with others.
There's no doubt that the alternative ending is WAY better than the original one.
Uninspiring and predictable plot, full of the genres cliches. Tom Cruise is quite mediocre, he does not add any particular added value if not his fame. It is a film to watch for the action scenes, enhanced by the Dolby audio, as well as by a good soundtrack.
Way better than any of the recent Right wing conspiracy movies out there. If you want to control the masses, Easily done, just dose the fried chicken.
An emotional rollercoaster of a movie that had me laughing one moment, crying the next, and gasping in amazement throughout. It’s not perfect but its one of the best MCU films thus far and has enough in it to please fans of Spiderman. Do not expect to be disappointed.
Nice story, not a great movie but entertaining.

Beside the genuinely creepy-looking creature design, everything about this film was so awful! Even the title is misleading because they didn't take a shortcut. The plot is simple but it tries too hard to make it twisty and complex. The weak acting doesn't help either. I didn't care for any character in this. It just felt empty. Thank god it's only 80 mins.
After ten years, I watched this movie again. I wanted to see whether my thoughts will change or not, because ten years ago I did not understand why this movie is at the top. Still, I think it should not be even in top 50 movies, because nothing is special. Years are passing just like a moment, I could not feel his pain or hope. In one scene, he wants something than bum it is happening. Again, for one scene his situation is so bad, than guess what happens? After just 30 seconds, he is good. So you never go top or down during this movie. My suggestion is it is better to watch this movie without the number 1 expectations.
