So dank. The start of The Battle on Rakuyo arc has begun and it's already epic. I'm glad that they picked up right where they left off with Utsuro just continuing to beast on everyone. I'm liking the new team-ups that will happen and, of course, seeing Kagura's mom for the first time (from the OP/ED hints). Nobume is also looking mighty fine in her new getup, if I may so myself ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
As strictly just an anime-watcher of Gintama, I don't know how long this arc will be but I am ready to be blown away.
Feels like a gamble whenever I vote for something recently but a "Meh" seems "Fair"...
Let me start by saying that technically the show is good. The cold look goes well with the theme, the animation is good and the music (when it's not overdone) too.
Unfortunately this all means nothing when the script doesn't hold up. For a show with "Terror" in the title... this isn't seen here. Yes, buildings get blown up but that's about it. The already short season spends it's time with solving riddles for clues about the next bomb's location instead of anything meaningful. The master plan the 'terrorists' have come up with is really one of the worst ways to go about it and they're supposed to be exceptionally smart.. Lisa, a girl who gets involved with the group, is one of the worst characters I've ever seen. She hardly has a personality and serves no purpose except to bringing trouble for the protagonists. Seriously, just by removing her they would have had already more time for characterization or backstory. Heck, removing the 80% that is spent on riddles would have allowed a much different direction and actually doing something with the premise.
As much as I was looking forward to it I didn't care for most of the episodes and given it's conclusion I wouldn't recommend it.
It is getting harder and harder to chose between Emelia-tan and Rem.
Anyways, I love how this show uses it's airtime. The first episode was a great first hour and in the other episodes you rarely get the OP & ED or they just play the music in the background with the credits. It feels great being able to watch the show without time being taken away for the same intro's and outro's every week.
Oh, didn't catch the Boichi in the intro so that's why the designs looked so looks familiar. Anyhow, was lukewarm after the first episode and this hasn't sold me anything different either. Can't say I like Dr. Stone as a character nor do I get the feeling this will really be about rebuilding society in a post-apocalyptic setting but just rushing past some initial world building to focus on one-dimensional characters somehow fighting it out (which can be expected since it's running in SJ weekly). I'm not the target audience but I tried .
Yuu enters combat mode
She is going to catch her prize.
I really enjoyed the 1st season as the comedy was hilarious and serious towards the end; however, the 2nd season wasn't as good. The comedy was so so, but the romance development felt awkward. IMHO, the 2nd season doesn't live up to the wacky yet comical 1st season, which is unfortunate.
A great series to watch if you have seen some of studio Trigger's previous works. It ties them all together in a hilarious way with great characters, visuals, and a great soundtrack. It is definitely worth watching as it is only an hour and a half worth of shorts.
Yassssss!!! this was the action I was waiting for the whole week. mooooore!!!
THAT CLIFFHANGER. HOW DID I NOT SEE THAT COMING.
Another amazing episode. Really emotional scene when Kakeru was talking about his mother. I still can't believe Naho hasn't figured out that she is the one Kakeru loves :P Also, I fucking hate Ueda. Pisses me off. Ughh
Loved the episode. 10/10
Awesome episode! Looks like it was a good decision to end the first season with original content to get this played out without too many cuts. The connection the regalia have with the gods certainly allows for some complex dynamics. Too bad most shounen neglect that side of their "tools".
Nitpicking: Yukine's new form was kind of an asspull but something I can live with. Why wasn't Bishamon picking up on the fact that Kugaha is slaughtering half her family? And why would Kugaha bother to leave Aiha alive?
If you are a bit of a nerd (and you are if you have a mediacenter running trakt!), you'll probably like this a lot! Since nerd-ism is getting more popular and mainstream, most people will get the jokes, so even mom's, dad's and girlfriends might laugh at this.
If, however, you don't know who Spock and Darth Vader are, aren't at all interested in science and technology and never have socially uncomfortable situations (e.g. with girls), you'll probably miss out on most of the jokes.
One of the few shows that actually make me laugh out loud :)
Damn. Miyabi is such a b*tch. She is as cold and dirty as it gets...
She deserves a painful end.
This really subverted my expectations. What a masterpiece, just like The Last Jedi!
Probably the worst anime I have ever seen.
gonna be the best anime of summer 2016
That uplifting ED after the cliffhanger is almost mean ;). Some solid payoff this episode!
This is one of my go to series for chilling and forgetting the problems of the day. It's a sweet, sometimes wistfull but charming series and one that always puts a smile on my face. This episode in particular has everything this program has to offer. Yes some may say not much happens, but it does, just on a smaller much more human scale.
I really liked the anime adaptation of Flowers of Evil and was kinda holding out for a sequel but this ain't gonna happen anymore. To my big surprise however it seems as this movie version actually adapts the whole story in less runtime? That obviously comes with certain drawbacks, including less ominous atmosphere but despite "normal" movies not necessarily being Noboru Iguchi's wheelhouse he alongside Mari Okada sort of made it work? I say sort of because I was willing to give this a lot of slack and wanted to see the story progress - which it did - it's just that it sometimes has a clumsy feel including some comicy overacting.
Personally I just love the unpredictable dynamic of the trio and how the story touches on their struggles but I'd still be hesitant to say this is the best way to experience the material. I guess I just wanted to say it is OK ...
Omg this episode was cuteness overwhelming:heart_eyes:
Again: Feeling so sad for Yui after this episode :sob:
While I don't think the show is bad so far, it does very little to sell me titular title characters. I know nothing of them except that they must be divine (so we are told) and whip up new songs on a whim... Really hope this changes.
The movie is way too unrealistic. No one plugs in a USB cable on the first try.
"Everyone! Remain calm! The Crypts are perfectly SAFE!!!!! I repeat, the CRYPTS ARE SAFE!!"
The violence, the class, visuals, audio, psychology and Hannibal's mind control. It is so beautiful I want to cry. I wish I could go back in time and see it for the first time again so I could cry from the psychological and eye candy this show brings. In my crazy head this places as #1 and best show I've ever seen even above Breaking Bad.
you can't take the sky from me..
This is the gayest thing I've ever watched and I am beyond happy for it's existence. God has touched us with his etherial light and graced us with his love.
Fun fact: The names Frieren, Himmel, Stark, Fern, Eisen, Heitel, and Flamme are words taken from the Scandi and Germanic languages (Danish, Norwegian, Swedish, and German) which represents their character's traits.
E.g., Fri(eren) is loosely translated as "The Free" or "The Frozen" in German, Himmel is "The Sky", Stark (or Stærk) is "The Strong", Flamme is "The Flame", Eisen is "The Iron", Heitel is "The Cheerful", and Fern can be translated as "The Detached" or Remote.
I vill mess with time! I vill mess with time! >:(
The title can change to "Enjoy Child Molestation After Tensei" now.
Damn. While the teacher was super obvious as the killer, I was hoping that the creators were throwing us off on purpose with a blatant red herring. Other than that flaw, this was a fantastic episode with a "mini-showdown" between Satoru and sensei. With only two more episodes to go, it's f'n game time.
