The production value on this is visablly fucking insane. What a gorgeous show.
And with only 2 episodes out I am already hooked like haven't been by a show in a long time.
EDIT after full first season:
Damn, I'm disappointed right now. It started off so well with the first episode. But with each passing episode it felt more like two different shows. One on Trantor about Empire. Which was fucking amazing science fiction and mesmerizing to watch. But also one on Terminus about the Foundation itself. Which felt like a cheap SyFy spinoff in the same universe. Very bizarre.
Still an entertaining watch throughout but it could have been so much better.
BTW. I haven't read the books.
I liked the first season best. The show's very uneven. Sometimes it's very funny, other times really boring or gross or stupid. Too self-indulgent.
Louis C.K. has redefined comedy for me,and I don't want to go back ever !!!
I'm never gonna watch anything as amazing and as beautiful as this masterpiece and I know it :/ One of the very very few comedy shows that did not rely on the romantic relationships of the main characters to be successful, Tina Fey is an absolute genius to have written a show like this :)
The second best show of all time .. right behind My Name is Earl. Itsa shame both were cancelled!
Larry David is my social justice warrior.
SO BORING. Maybe it gets better? But it's only eight episodes long! Such a short show doesn't have time to get better, it needs to start strong! If you have the patience for bland, atmospheric "comedies" in which the humor is next to nonexistent, then you might like this. But personally I prefer my comedies to be consistently, actually funny...
Overall, I was very impressed with the way all the elements of the production came together and very effectively created an ever-present, brooding tension. Good performances by a very capable cast with the scenes between Julia Roberts and Stephan James being of particular note. Also, I believe Bobby Cannavale is very underappreciated (as was his recent series Vinyl) and his work in this show is solid, as is Shea Whigham's. Sam Esmail, of Mr. Robot fame, does some great things behind the camera – framing, lens choices, and camera movement – and makes some stylistic choices which create additional visual interest without being completely over the top – something he did quite well in the episodes of Mr. Robot he directed. Damned interesting story presented well on all fronts. I highly recommend it, but be forewarned, this is not a show for short attention span viewers. The pace is often slow and deliberate, which for me, just added to the tension and anxiety. As a psychological thriller, it’s supposed to be uncomfortable, and I felt it achieved this very effectively throughout.
Just amazing! Thanks Larry David!
Amazing writers and wonderfull cast.
Phil Dunphy best character ever.
This show is superb. Enjoyed so much, Netflix is really kicking some creative and artistic ass...
My love for this show is embarrassing.
I loved it! Can't wait for the next episodes.
After watching all of the Cornetto movies, I was craving more Pegg/Frost, and stumbled upon this great show. The pop culture references, while a bit dated, are still funny, and the humor is straight out of something like Shaun of the Dead. I wish it was longer, but am grateful that we even got twelve episodes.
Craazy show. Just as crazy as the novels, I had read these books when I was a teenage and loved them I was not expecting much of the tv show as these sort of books rarely translate well to TV but although I have only seen the first episode it really did justice to the spirit of the novels in its own way. While it diverges from the books in plot I think that is a good thing. Looking forward to the next episode. Be prepared for a trip if you watch this.
Wow wow Wow! !! !!!
I can not believe I just started this show and it is out for some years now.
This show is sooooo amazing. I am addicted ! :)
Before it's time. Fantastic show. I think the c#nt episode was the nail in the coffin but far more... hmm, effective(?)/less of a gimmick(?) than the "shocking" use on Sex in the City a few years earlier.
"Louie" is worth the visit if you are a C.K. fan, close to his standup work.
I'm enjoying this series, and its funny without too much tech stuff that the wife even enjoys most episodes
First anime I started to watch and it was a pleasent suprise. I haven't played with the game so I have no background knowledge about the storyline. I enjoyed the characters voice and the overall design. Will watch S2 as well.
I really loved it but 4 episodes ur killing me netflix!!!
A great intro to a series I would definitely watch long-term. Voice acting is top notch, but Trevor Belmont is a bit of a stereotype long-seen in series of this genre. Few words, total badass--on top of that the long-lost son of a demon-fighting family lol. The fight choreography is really great and so is the animation in the scenes. The backgrounds are decent but you can see some areas they flesh out less detail.
Side comment: how many times can someone fall from great heights onto jagged rocks and not die?
The plot is based on this: http://castlevania.wikia.com/wiki/Castlevania_III:_Dracula%27s_Curse
It's good, but they really should have made the first season have more than just four episodes. It's like if you got the first two episodes of Game of Thrones on the same day, but had to wait a year for the rest of the season. Looking forward to next year's season two.
(Too lazy to rewrite this, Season 2 is fucking awesome watch it.)
The best show ever!!!!!!!!! ♥
words cannot describe how much i love this show, it's perfect in every single way, and it had a fantastic ending
Twin Peaks was not only about Laura Palmer, it was about the demons inside us. I have no words. Twin Peaks is one hell of a thrill ride, amazing.
