They should 'Apology' to us for making a shitty movie.
Don't waste your time on this.
Honestly very wayward I’m sure it thinks it’s very clever but it’s just not entertaining.
Absolutely terrible. There was nothing scary about this, no gore, very boring nudity, the music comes across as goofy. I was really hoping this would be like Moctezuma's Alucarda, but it comes nowhere close. Doesn't even fall into the realm of so bad it's good.
It's Taxi Driver for the Uber/ # generation. Doesn't hold up all the way to the end, but for the most part, it's a well-made and frighteningly realistic look at social media/live streaming obsession. “This is just like Cardiff on a Friday night.”
I cannot believe that the same director of The Descent (one my favourite horror movies) and Doomsday and some of the best episodes of Game of Thrones … wasted his talent and money on this awful mess.
Rubber suits, dodgy effects and unoriginal creatures - it’s all here.
Even the end credits have that cheesy TV movie feel about them.
Predictable, corny and barely worth the time… but it gets 4 for the eye candy and funny one liners.
If Cujo and Jaws had a baby... it would sleep through this crocodile movie that confuses inaction with suspense.
Welcome to hell, because for the next 1 hour and 26 minutes you will wish you were burning in the fiery inferno instead of watching this.
Flat, boring, unengaging. I waited over a year for this and was disappointed. This is another case where a film with a unique concept never managed to grow into something bigger. It's like taking a good short film and stretch it out needlessly. The experience of going through 'spooky' internet videos and playing it constantly evoke a good sense of discomfort, but it can't quite make for a compelling narrative. The story may be relatable to some audience but it's clear I'm not part of those audience.
It was a real 'camp' ride, and I was pleasantly shocked to see Jason Alexander (Seinfeld) with hair, Holly Hunter, Fisher Stevens (everything) and Brian Backer (Fast Times at Ridgemont High). Sadly, I was distracted from all the fun by the opening credits which proclaimed loud and boldly that Harvey Weinstein had both written and produced the film, which made me wonder how the young starlets appearing in the film were treated. Also, the 3 scenes where men forced themselves on said starlets were very awkward, as a result.
“We use to be normal”
- Terry Housman
Yikes, that was a big hot mess.
:ghost: :bed:
Could've been good if it weren't for all the unlucky events and I'm not even mad about the bad CGI but the cocodrile was just wrong, it only looks like one but that's all, a better research could have been great! A 4 just because Ken's acting was ok, I'm still salty about Lucky dying and Koi surviving.
Man, what a let down... They had a great setting to work with but it didn't get above a half baked mythology. The movie dedicates a lot of it's runtime to the groups trip without much out of the ordinary happening (just the occasional jumpscare)... I didn't find the cast to be very interesting for that and once it was judgement day o'clock it didn't get any better. It's not a big budget production resulting in some very medicore creature effects and lots of no-show from the broken Google Glass or the leads impaired eyesight. All the action is set underground in dark places with as generic shit possible.
Yep I had to quit when they were torturing and killing the dog. There should be a warning on this crap when they're torturing animals. Gross.
The "real exorcisms" were so cringy :poop:
When the spin off is better than the original.
Not my favorite Argento. I don't even know why some think it's gory.
This is one of those movies you'd pick out from the video rental-store purely judged by it's cover and premise cause all the good blockbusters weren't available anymore. You'd watch the movie, have a good time, rewind the sucker and put it back in it's box; glaring at it's cover as you put it on the other stack of B-movies you rented with a faint smile on your face.
Imagine someone gives you beluga caviar and premium vodka and you use it to make ice cream.
Amusement has a lot of investment, a lot of potential and a lot of talent, though sadly none of it with the director who gives us an absurd, nonsensical, and ridiculous movie. Tragic, really, as Kathryn Winnick was amazing and would've made an excellent horror franchise center piece.
Apparently only one family lives in this town. Very unrealistic situation. And with the ending, it was a lot of build up to nothing!
Even good actors/actresses star in shit movies
A bad kids version of Saw. Do not lose your time watching, it's not worth it.
Despite being produced by a company called Original Films, there is nothing, absolutely nothing original about this movie. It's ALL be done before and done better than this shit.
I do not understand why this movie is being so universally panned. I loved everything about it, even if it's not the most unique story of all time. I felt like the casting was absolutely perfect. Rebecca Ferguson took my breath away almost every single second she was on screen. Hugh Jackman effectively portrayed an intelligent technologist and expert who betrays his own instincts about the capabilities and consequences of the technology. The music was awesome, especially Rebecca's singing and the way that it is eventually woven into the plot. The noir-like overlay of the narration was awesome. The environment was unique, intriguing, and believable. The slow-rolling unravelling of the mystery seemed to be perfectly paced for me. I was so busy taking in all of the details of each scene that it never really felt slow to me in the way that others are criticizing it for.
I loved this movie.
Clearly destined to be an underrated, under appreciated masterpiece by Lisa Joy, who clearly understands film noir better than most directors working today.
The way the killer's head is blown off by that shotgun is the best death so far this Hooptober! Tom Savini's work here is just him showing off, he truly is one of the best special effect guys ever! Such amazing handy work! It is the sole reason for you to watch this one!
The story however is weak even for a slasher film, the motive the killer has is very weak, the story it self is all over the place and the man behind the mask is way to predictable. In the end I was just waiting for the kills. I'm still wondering though, why did that guy in the wheelchair grab Pam? And why didn't those two lovers in the basement bite the dust?
Anyway, this one is worth watching for the special effects. It is a slasher with more potential than it showed us. And be sure to watch it on Shudder and watch the Last Drive-In version with Joe Bob, that rant about mobile phones is simply amazing!
Ps. Pam's gonna have a huge water bill! That water must have been running for 12 hours straight!
The most unique movie I have seen in years! Deeply unsettling, beguiling, always discomforting, smart and sometimes even hypnotic. Camera, sound and score are amazing. Check this one out if you can, it has the potential to become big.
[Sitges FF] The shadow. Rarely have shadows produced so much chill. The multi-faceted director builds a superb representation of the world of dreams / nightmares. It achieves an atmosphere of constant unease, thanks to a claustrophobic cinematography of grays and blues, in which reality and dreams are progressively confused, and to one of the best scores of the genre this year. We end up immersed in a world of dreams, trapped in a nightmare from which we have no escape.
How could someone go do a shuttle mission without proper tactical rope/cord dispenser; would've been quite handy. You'd think they were trained to know safety first. Also, I'm not quite convinced that an object so small could impact a larger object in space the way it was portrayed here, especially at the angle it was going.
This movie was painfully boring, and didn't contain a single likeable character. It was like watching a whiney CW teen drama. What wasn't boring, was borderline nonsensical.
Don't waste your time with this one, especially if you are a fan of the previous x-men movies.
Good start but then the movie got lost in nonsense ....bad
