Honestly this is probably a 5 star movie, I’m only holding it back because it’s a first viewing and I’m a fucking idiot. Within the first ten minutes between the confidence of the filmmaking and the cast you already feel like you’re going to be watching something special. What could have essentially coasted on being a Marvel movie for the A24 crowd rises above to be much more than that.
how could a film that bases an entire storyline around a Ratatouille joke not be absolutely fantastic?
Hey Ray, remember when you lied about a shoulder injury & killed that kid with a grenade, you self-righteous wanker.
Wow. I don't know what it was exactly, but that episode hit me in the feels.
Something about seeing Boba go through the tribe's rite of passage was extremely mesmerising and powerful to me.
While I would like to give this episode a 10/10, the whole present-day stuff still really isn't doing anything for me right now. I'm a lot more invested in his bacta flashbacks with the Tuskens.
I guess that stuff is just kinda uninteresting to me currently in the series. I'm waiting for some serious sh*t to go down.
I'm really liking where this show is going. Looking forward to next week.
Side Note: Tatooine was once a water planet?! No way!!
Funny as shit. And then sad as hell when you realize it's basically just a documentary.
Can’t wait to watch Season 2.
Not because of the Murder mystery but because I want to hang out with Marty & Steve.
This show has such a nice charm to it. Warm and fuzzy and funny and snarky.
Probably the most fun I had watching a show this year after White Lotus.
Marketing really dropped the ball on this one by letting everyone assume it was "Nicolas Cage as John Wick but with a pig." It's a smart, forlorn, reflective character piece about a broken man who deeply cares for something authentic in an empty world. I'd say this is Nicolas Cage's best performance since Adaptation, but honestly, this understated and quiet film blows everything he's done out of the water.
Do NOT go into this one expecting an action flick. This is a slow indie film with a relentless focus on its main character. The most unclassifiable movie I've seen in a long while, and one that stays with you long after the credits roll.
legitimately such a visually stunning and fun entry into the action genre. the number of times bullets run out is one of my favorite aspects of the action sequences, but also there's a scene later on that, combined with mary elizabeth winstead's increasingly horrifying deterioration, puts this on my body horror list. it's not a horror, but it's pretty and there's bodies being horrific, so it works. i'm really digging the recent action films that use just enough stylistic choices borrowed from video games to bump up the immersion.
when i was checking on who the stunt coordinators were i saw some Highly Bitter articles calling this a john wick clone but honestly every action movie follows a formula because the formula works and being poisoned with radiation is a great reason for revenge even if it didn't involve a dog.
also, i don't even fucking care i loved that ridiculous car chase scene
Really entertaining series with lots of great characters. Kaleb definitely needs his own show. That guy's a comedy genius
OH MY GOD !!! They got the "Aliens" History Channel guy !
I was bracing myself for the inevitable tragedy that was about to ruin such a happy and sweet episode, like it usually occurs on this show. But it never happened!
My first Russian speaking movie and I have to say ... very good! It was interesting, very well acted, with neat creature design, clever plot and held my attention right until the end. Special mention goes to the music soundtrack which lifted the movie very nicely indeed! Solid entertainment and will make me choose Russian again soon! 7/10.
Louis CK & Pamela Adlon.. What can go wrong? Pamela's time to shine!
It's amazing how even at its saddest, this show is still really heartwarming, happy and sweet.
However, I gotta say, being a woman in power and having to stroke your male coworker's egos to earn some of their good-will and respect, doesn't seem right. It felt like Zoey was belittling herself to make the dudes accept her. I just don't think that's a good massage to send, you know?
Moonlight is a beautiful song, that reminds me of one of my favorite movies of all time, August Rush. Also, really enjoyed Sucker!
Having Jesus promote cocain must be one of the most South Park things this show has done in a long time.
For a spin off of a derailed reboot, this show might have landed on its feet. It attempts to be edgy and progressive in every way possible in constant small doses. It inserts elements of the current political climate in an ironic way.
Slightly more entertaining than boring.
(edit) Show has been awhile now. I do not recommend. 4/10.
It was really good. Almost perfect, everything about it was great. I give it 9/10. All the actors were incredibly transparent, there was a good amount of humor through the movie to lighten the load of the more depressing parts, and you were able to connect with the characters pretty well with little back story.
Spoiler
The scene where the killer pops up behind the woman in the bushes in the back of the shot was one of the most horrifying scenes in any movie I have ever seen. It made my skin crawl. The shot was done in a way where it wasn't obvious to the audience at all, just a small figure in the grass that made the imagination run wild.
Brilliant show. After MTV Faking It was not renewed, I had to follow my actress. Happy I was loyal. Funny and enlightening.
Great episode. I'm glad that Jessica Russo is a recurring role for Sarah Shahi, I like her and her character so far. I hope she won't get killed off or something stupid like that.
I'm not gonna pretend to understand US politics and the huge debate that is gun control.
But, one of the things I love the most about this show is how open and inclusive it is, and how it always tries to reach that elusive middle ground. It lost a little bit of that this episode with Sutton getting rid of her gun after Jane pushed her.
I get where Jane was coming from, and I'm sure thousands of real life people share her trauma. But Sutton was very open minded and rational about the whole thing and she made valid arguments. I wish the writers would have resolved it differently.
It was refreshing to see the season end on a high note instead of another "OMG WTF" cliffhanger.

What i expected: This show is about a terrorist attack, that wipes out the entire US government. So it will be mainly about hunting the (muslim) terrorists, like in 24. And a President, who does everything to stay in power, like House of Cards.
What it's actually about: How terrorist attacks affect Muslim-Americans, how a right-wing, islamophobic governor tries to establish a police state. About a naive, but lovable president, who takes time for his family, while his wife is kick-ass lawyer. About a president, who tries to find the terrorists, but doesn't want to attack someone without being 100% sure.
It's not a dystopian vision of the USA after a devastating attack. It's an utopia!
I was hoping SyFy could continue their recent trend of awesome shows like 12 Monkeys, The Expanse and others. But this is just bad all around. Terrible writing, acting, pacing and stupid characters.
A Christopher Nolan movie about Albert Einstein's theories of gravity fields, wormholes and several hypotheses :O :O :O
Yaaaahoooooooo - I CAN NOT WAIT!
It's been many years since I first watched this film and I think that back then I really took it for granted.
Comparing it to all that has come since it is a wonder. A beautiful love story with dots of humour and angst... Yet neither of them die and we get a truly happy ending.
It's a shame to say that is a rarity in LGBT media today.
Great film, production, acting and all round message. A true insight into Asian American life and traditions too. Really can't fault it.
This is the worst Game Changer finale. The concept and first part were excellent but once everyone knew who was playing, it became boring. Also, Sam has invited some of the most brilliant and hilarious talents in the history of Game Changer, and he ended up with this Ratfish person. He's the worst part of this show and was a total hack. Katie's deserving but Rekha was robbed because that hack had too much power. Anyway, it was a serviceable season and I'm still looking forward for the next one.
After you have watched the first two episodes stop because nothing happens after that
To the person who said this was Past Lives with robots, that's the most accurate review for this movie. The world had it out for these two.
An art house remake of Big Daddy.
Everything about this movie excelled, from the acting to the cinematography to the directing, but the banality of the story kept me from appreciating any of those things enough.
