Somehow I still want to know more about Junior. If I had to picture a capo, I would not think of a guy like him. He seems to be a feeble grandpa. I know that isn't true. But the show rarely pictures him as a ruthless criminal. That's why he's such a mysterious character.
This is again a slow episode. I appreciate the slow pace. It again deals with family issue. Still disappointed that we don't learn more about the actual operations and dealings of the mob. Briefly they tell you all branches they are involved in (betting, cocaine and whatnot) but I'm still trying to understand what the construction site has to do with it. What's that all about?

As far as action goes, this is a good episode. It's not a monumental battle though. This show clearly lacks a big budget. In fact, the massive battle between two armies is reduced to a few dozen men fighting mostly 1 vs. 1. It's also not a good season finale. Feels unfinished. What's with the reinforcements by ship? Will they continue the fight? Will the tribes continue to fight? Can the Roman leaders escape? Will Thusnelda become a slave in Rome? Feels like a cliffhanger to force season 3....

@alexlimberg The ships turned around, weirdly, just as they arrived when they were most needed. The bigger question is why Tiberius felt a need to have some barbarian child with him to Rome, it makes literally no earthly sense.

All I could think about was that IF ONLY SOMEONE SEND ME 50000 EUROS TOO.
Then the last 10 minutes came, and I'd never ever imagine things would escalate that much. I'm sorry for Tanya, but as Portia said before, killing her may be considered euthanasia and kind at one point. I still wish she didn't die though.
Dissertations should be written on Cameron and Daphne if they were based on real people. They may be the most dysfunctional delusional toxic couple.
I'm glad sex workers got their happy ending. Lucia was worried about all whores being punished in the end, and it was time for a change.
There wasn't 100% definite answers for loose ends though. It doesn't bother me very much, but like... What really happened between Harper and Cameron, was it just a kiss or more? Did Daphne invited Ethan to Isola Bella so that they can get revenge and have sex? Were gays and Greg really planning to kill Tanya? If so, is Greg the most lucky person in this story? Was Quentin really Jack's uncle? And the most precious and important one among all... IS GREG HAVING AN AFFAIR??

I felt so bad for Eric... Being alone, like that, on his birthday, and then getting punched in the face and spit on for being gay. Homophobia is a disgusting disease. And then that caused a fallout between him and Otis, and those guys were thick as thieves! I really hope they can talk about it and make amends, soon.
We had Violent Femmes and INXS in this episode, this show's soundtrack is truly a delight!
Nice Dead Poets Society moment at the end, after a harsh episode, I feel that scene truly lifted everyone's spirit (the characters' and ours).

@kbogesz You're misunderstanding. He wasn't cleared, the evidence just didn't match him. He didn't have to admit it, he chose to do it to not risk being convicted for it again in a new trial with who-knows-what consequence. He admitted to it and his sentence was the time he already served, that way he doesn't go back into prison (for this crime).

@vwfringe Well, they don't seem to have had the best family relations for a long time. Her parents had never even met their grandchild, stemming from the mom not believing her about the molestation done by her dad's fraternity buddy. And they live quite far from each other. Sadly there are lots of broken families, which is what they're portraying here.

I didn't enjoy the appearance of WW and JP as I thought I would. Maybe because at the beginning it seemed pointless like straight fan service. Although, then it became clear by some superb transitions that Gene is going to make a huge mistake similar to the one he made by chosing to work with Heisenberg, still it wasn't what I was expecting.
Also, Aaron Paul was so different. I mean, I know that almost a decade has passed since BB ended but it seemed like a makeup problem.
Summing up it's a great episode, mostly because of the Gene plot and what the transitions meant.

uh..wtf is this. why is foreman's character now being statisticized? last season it felt like they did everything to avoid him being written as a statistic black man and now, all in one episode, he's got a gang tattoo, has stolen a car and been to juvie in his youth. they even got a shiny new g-funk intro to go with it!
also cameron's character development here regressed? the whole first season established her incompetence with not being able to confront patients with bad news and after all that, now she can't mention or tell one patient they have cancer??

VIP8When I saw the number of episodes, I was wondering how they'd be able to pace everything and expecting for it to be game after game, but they've come up with a lot of clever ideas that both expand the show, and give us just enough perspective on how things work on the inside. Plus, it makes sense that people would do crazy things to find out more about the place.
I also really love how quickly "making allies" is becoming a thing. 218's betrayal was ruthless, he remembered that shit the moment he looked at the symbols.
I'm glad that the show isn't just about the brutal games, and takes its time intelligently. No wonder it's a mega hit.
