This show defined my teenage TV watching years. This was the first show I knew the schedule and didn't miss many episodes on the first run.
Between Trakt and Plex, I'll get some nostalgia going.
Ridley Scott. The king of epic. A must watch for anyone who loves epic battles.
I don't know what to think of Napoleon because I haven't done my research, and this movie seems to be too nice in all parts. I learnt a lot, yet I could have learnt more. It should have included a little information on who each person was the same way little facts popped up on the screen telling us the location, year, or how many died. Heartbreaking how more than 3 million French people danced into their deaths, simply because a man had the power to. What's even more heartbreaking is times haven't really changed.
Besides the writing, the production was phenomenal. Apple TV is becoming one of my favourites. The acting was atrociously good. The score was tense, and Joaquin Phoenix was legendary as per.
I cannot say enough good things about this film.
A brilliant combination of action, thriller, drama and moments of humour.
Ben Affleck is very good portraying a complex character with excellent supporting turns by JK Simmons, Cynthia Addai-Robinson and the always spectacular Jeffrey Tambor in a wonderful role. But the real star here is the plot.
No spoilers.
This film is 10 minutes longer than a standard action film and it uses that 10 minutes to give depth and emotion to the characters. It also raises it to a level of deserved excellence.
Ignore the negative reviews here. They must struggle to follow an actual plot rather than superheroes battling aliens for 2 hours with 5 minutes of dialogue...
I've recommended this film to many people and never left anyone disappointed.
I hope they don't make a sequel as I'm sure the magic is not achievable a second time.
10/10
And I absolutely love the Airstream....!
Brilliant ! As every Affleck movie, oh and Bernthal acting remains so much of The Punisher
This was a great movie. A very interesting story arc. I loved it.
:point_right_tone2: “Sooner or later, different scares people.”
this film was genuinely so nice and the ending was really nice - it’s actually pretty good Autistic representation for once
One of my desert island movies.
I avoided this movie for some years and I regret it! was so good!
After watching this second mainstream movie with Tony Jaa, it's safe to say that the moral of the story is, "Don't steal this guy's stuff! He will find you and break your bones!"
Every time you thought the fight scenes are almost over, there’s still more and it gets crazier! Some people might think low of Keanu Reeves’ acting range, and it shows clearly here, but he seems to fully accept that and enjoys the ride. That’s the least of the problems though, when it comes to doing action scenes, he totally delivered as always. The story is kinda meh and pedictable, but at least the cinematography is neat and lots of beautiful shots to please our eyes. 7.5/10
R.I.P Lance Reddick
Rest in power, Lance Reddick. Hope we get to see lots more of Charon.
Rumor has it that Michael Myers and Jamie Lee will have a dance off. Once and for all.
I think I have watched this movie more than twenty times.. I'm a simple woman. I see Jason Statham, I watch it.
Nice film, for everybody. I laughed a lot with my family.
Laugh out loud funny for me - been finding some gems on Prime to stream!
One of the best solo MCU movies in a while. I went into this not knowing the story at all. I was highly entertained and not lost at all. Definitely worth the $12 at the theater!
These motherfuckers went to space in a car. 10 stars.
Full disclosure, I think Matt Damon is one of the most undervalued actors in the business. Just look at his range of performances - the butt of the joke in OCEANS, a man reduced in DOWNSIZING, a meticulous and idealistic car designer in FORD V FERRARI, an action star in the BOURNE franchise, and now, a redneck American trying to make good for his daughter in a foreign world. Matt Damon is a good actor. This is a good movie. The acting is right on it’s mark. The tone is gritty. The pace is heartfelt but real. I give this film a 7 (good) out of 10.
A seriously refreshing police thriller that cranks up the tension to the max. There's no overblown gunplay or buddy cop crap here, this baby is tight as a drum and will have your nails down to the quick. Superb performances, a tight script and tense direction make this a winner in every department. Pick it up if you can, it's fantastic.
Quite an entertaining watch. Good story & stunts. Thai stunt people really earn their money!
I could go on and on about what makes this movie immortal, but I feel I should let you see what makes it great. Bruce Lee was forever immortalized with this film and it will be cherished and praised forever.
Crazy-good CGI-free stuntwork here. Like getting kicked off the top of a moving semi and bouncing off another moving semi on your way to the ground!
one of the best movies i'v ever seen, maybe the best
Watch this movie for Michelle Yeoh, ended up actually enjoying it. Thank God for '80s Hong Kong action movie
This is probably the best anime, or best show in general, ever made.
It has many detailed characters, a really deep and thoughtful story. But the most important part and what makes this a fantastic SciFi epos is its demand for realism. It gives you that feeling of "Mhmm, that could really be like that." and "Damn, why didn't I think about that.".
It's a real SciFi flick and not just another Fiction piece that gets labeled SCIENCE Fiction.
I agree with @xelra, most proper animer ever made. I really feel like it can appeal to non-anime fans, if I had one to recommend for them it would be this one for sure. (and Monster too)
