I've read the entire comic and this episode had me in tears at many points. This is the best show I've ever seen in my life.
Lol I love Saul. I can see now why he has his own show (and possibly why that show seems to be more popular than Breaking Bad).
My second time watching this show and I've been tearing up nonstop. The proof to me that something is good is when it makes me feel something even when I've already seen it. And these first few seasons of the show are definitely good.
The best episode of the season (so far) and one of the best episodes of the whole show!!! It's a CRIME that us show-onlies have to wait over a month to see what happens next!
Hate using this word, but this show is a masterpiece. I need Season 2 NOW.
Seems I'm in the minority here, the ending gave me chills.
This is the sort of episode most people will hate, but I actually liked it.
Dammit, they put plot in the sex scenes so you can't skip through them!!! XD
The Skyler hate is ridiculous, I didn't even know there were idiots out there that blamed her for everything going wrong. In this exact episode, Skyler literally explains to Ted why it's important that he pays the IRS. If he doesn't, Ted, Skylar, and Walt WILL go to jail. There's literally no reason for Ted not to want to pay them, he just suddenly gains stupid last minute "morals" while he acts like it isn't his bullshit that got them into that mess. But of course, it's easier to blame the woman that's tried her absolute best to keep these two dumbass criminals from being caught and imprisoned.
Goodness what a phenomenal and tense episode, I'm sweating lmao.
All of them squading up at the end got me hype!!!
People will say they feel no sympathy for Jaime getting his hand cut off when moments ago he protected a woman who'd been holding him captive from being raped. He didn't have to save her, he has absolutely no reason to. But he did. Please ask yourselves why a guy who tried to kill a child would then go on to save her. Maybe I'm talking out of my ass here, but this current Jaime seems a little different from the one in the beginning of the show.
And anyway, why do characters need to be squeaky clean goodie-two-shoes to garner sympathy? Why can we not just feel bad for folks cause they're going through some rough shit we wouldn't want done to us or our loved ones? Maybe not so much for a generically evil guy like Dany's brother, made only to be hated and then given a brutally "satisfying" death so viewers can cheer. I mean for people like Jaime and Theon who are obviously more than just one-dimensional villains.
I'm a little ashamed for it as I don't usually like to let my real life emotions affect my viewing experience, but I was very angry at Walt during the final scene...I swear he acts like Jesse's abusive dad every time they talk, always blowing up at him for the smallest mistake. Or when he doesn't do everything he says, exactly how he says it, even if it's impossible (like not poisoning a pot of food both he and his target are going to eat from). Meanwhile Jesse's going through a lot, mentally. Between Jane's death (that Walt caused), Gale's murder (which happened on Walt's orders), almost dying to a sniper, and now having to worry about preventing a huge war, Jesse's been through the ringer lately and Walt is just too - would "self-absorbed" be the right word? - something...to give him a damn break. I think I get it though, Walt's afraid of being killed and he put he last scrap of hope on Jesse poisoning Gus. But still.
The second Ted was introduced, I knew where things were heading. I understand Skylar's perspective but basically saying that you're waiting for your husband to die to spare his son embarrassment (wouldn't be surprised if she really meant her embarrassment) is really messed up. I'm surprised I don't see anyone mentioning that, unless I misread something about the scene.
First she treats him like shit without letting him explain, then when he finally tells her the truth; that he did it to secure the family's entire future...she goes and fucks her boss. She is one of the few understandable characters I don't mind people bashing.
I feel bad for Jesse lol. No matter what he does, Walt always ends up pissed at him.
I'm guessing this is the episode that unfortunately made people start hating Maggie
Best episode so far, but Red John laughing on the phone at the end was cringy and turned him from a threatening, mysterious figure to a stereotypical cartoon villain. I could almost hear him twirling his mustache while he laughed.
We're SO back, guys!!!!!!
Lol, every episode my score decreases. God that night scene at the pool was so fucking terrible and cliché. "Let's randomly try to rape the FL and antagonize the MC because we're the bad guys, can't you tell with how one-dimensional we are?"
I hate this "Beach" arc (I really hope it's just an arc) and what it represents for a show that I already haven't been feeling much positive things for. I'm curious if the manga handled any of this better.
I wish I was Homelander in that last scene; I want Stormfront to give me a superpowered beatdown and then shove me between her legs!!!
Kill a main character and the audience calls it the best episode in the show. Rape a main character, and the audience calls it the worst episode in the show.
Remember when those Night's Watch defectors took over Crastor's Hut? And they raped all the women there? And we saw some of it happening on-screen? No one got mad then. No one even mentioned it. Same when Daenerys got raped by Khal Drogo and that was shown on-screen. No one was mad. But then it happens to Sansa off-screen and suddenly the show is "ruined".
Dammit, only 3 episodes left, until the year-long-at-minimum wait for more? I could binge 3 more whole seasons right now.
Absolutely loved the song at the beginning lol. Wish that could be the intro every time (a shorter TV version, of course).
Beth sacrificed herself for this guy and they kill him off after a few episodes for shock value. Now that both she and Noah are dead, a good chunk of this season feels pointless. Tyreese's death is pointless too, since they only went to that place because of Noah.
Still...this was a very good episode. Showing "This is the beginning" in his notebook afterwards was absolutely perfect. I got chills seeing that.
These episodes just get better and better.
I'll say it cause no one else will, but poor Marcus. He just had a shit hand at every turn. And now his daughter will pay the price.
Damn, guess this is yet another show that'll have me in tears at the end of every episode.
The parkour, the fist fights, Vi and Cait's budding relationship...it's just so peak...
Am I crazy? Did I watch something different than anyone else?
I thought this show was great right up until this episode. Everything was so rushed. Weems cleverly eavesdrops on evil lady's monologue...then immediately dies right after. Enid finally goes wolf and curbstomps evil guy in seconds (I actually didn't mind this, just wanted a longer fight maybe? And maybe using the fight to add to the father/son storyline?) . Dollar Store Voldemort that's been hyped up the whole season gets resurrected...just to do absolutely nothing to no one. He doesn't even get to kill any outcasts, just shows up to the school, lights it on fire and dies very quickly. I actually looked to see how much episode was left when he died and was surprised I was at the end. People kept teleporting between locations whenever the plot demanded they be somewhere.
This needed to be either a longer episode or a two-parter. Overall though, I definitely love the show. I hope the writing for the main storyline in Season 2 will be better.
First few episodes, I wasn't too sure about this show (I even stopped watching for 2 weeks after the second episode), but man it's really good. Morticia and Gomez being obsessed with each other cracks me up :joy: And the relationship that Wednesday has with her family is surprisingly wholesome.
I'm sure many people hate this show but I actually like how dark this gets.
