Really really amazing show... I would recommend it to anyone who is a fan of suspense/thrillers. It has a great plot & story-telling to it, while it explores the lives of the main leads of the show(Matt Murdock & Wilson Fisk). It keeps us holding to our seat.
Its not like other shows which are action based. it has well written dialogue to it. what i'm saying is many action shows either use childish approach or very adult one(using more abusive words). shows nowadays also use more R- rated stuff, but this did not need any of it to deliver what was promised/ anticipated. And that's what I like the most about it.
I loved the show ... just one question though ...who as 'stick' talking to when he finished his mission for eliminating 'black sky'?
and does this means we'll be seeing more of daredevil??
Only complaint, upto the 2nd half, was they don't really explain why it has to happen. But a brilliant sci-fi thriller this is!!
This is sort of a review for season 1
All the spy-action dramas have a set blueprint which is used as it is in this one too. Manoj Bajpayee, being the actor he is, I was expecting it to be a little different show.
The show underlines many problems that the govt today never admits to. & as there's a bit lack of voice against the govt, so I'll give some credit to the writers but what I don't like is that they never give any solution, they don't even try to. In the end they just continue with the stereotyping & , hence, imo, give another forward push to that stereotyping.
The ending...is a bit loose. I think they're hoping to get another season & so kept an open ending. I'd've like if the home situation was sorted, at least. & thanks for not giving him a brand new car out of the blue when he comes back home.
A whole season has ended & we still don't get to see what his beliefs are, the principles that he works with. He pokes fun at the larger issues, that's what everyone does, so it does relate to us but a hero is supposed to give us a resolution & hence, it's a big shortcoming of the show along with a half-cooked ending.
well that f*ing sucked, inn't? It was going so well till 4-5th episode. Then the Billy Butcher character suddenly disappears or follows the kid around. I'm glad they developed the kid but was it necessary to fk up Billy? & what the hell did they achieve at the end of it all? What about all the dirty deeds Homelander did? Sure, Becca couldn't leave her kid, but I really don't understand the final scene.
I do not recommend anyone to watch this!
I liked season 1 better than season 2 as we got to see her do some investigating and be in the centre of action most of the time. But this time around we see her off balance most of the time(yes I know she is struggling with some issues but she still doesn't stop shaking even in the last episode.). And she is always one step too late for the investigation. Always chasing him even after knowing who the real criminal is. So I'm a little frustrated with her but still a good season. Worth a watch!!
well that was absurd, extreme, irrational and scary, all at once.
they are constantly being monitored, then why didn't the organizers hear about Rafael's or Joanna's fake registration?
bitchy bitches bitching about bitch problems. the only person who should be infuriated is Maggie but she is holding herself up, holding everyone else together but these two have to be so much impatient, why? everybody's lost their loved ones, and everyone is agreed to fight. they are not finding excuses but trying to increase the no. of people who will survive the attack.
now i understand Carrie's situation & her position but that scene is something when she leaves the President elect standing alone. wait, doesn't she has to lock her house?
still the one-handed man got more investigation done than everybody else.
i get making Dar a villain, its very appealing but still what does Dar thinks the end game is? that everyone will embrace & celebrate him a hero?
& why is that german gf of Peter helping Dar?
The only thing that carried the movie was HARLEY QUINN!!!
& captain boomerang + El diablo were some positive performances.
El Diablo-- what happened to him in the end?
There's just too many things that don't make sense in the movie.
Deadshot-- looks like any other hero of an action movie who is judge as bad by the people.
before he stood on that car roof, Harley was a better shot & I was thinking what's going on? like this there's just too many plotholes in the movie.
Joker-- well Heath Ledger left a mark that no one would be ever able to erase. So, I tried very hard to like this Joker played by Jared Leto but there's just too many personality changes that made me loose it. like previous joker wouldn't threaten he'd just kill(the guy they bring to butcher's) he's laugh fills forced, & some other issues.
the right thing they showed about Joker was how he left Harley in the water & how he didn't die & came to get her in the last scene.
American whatever that was Homeland or whatever.--they give in too easily to Waller.
Waller says 'she's watching everything' then how did they miss A whole squad when there were only two squads to watch
Then, she just kills everyone at that place, her own people & still the other soldiers eg. Flag still follow without a hitch.
Also when the Enchantress dies, Waller comes back like she just got back from an office meeting, without a scratch.
Batman-- he's just too stiff. & the way he captured Harley or Deadshot was just too amatuerish.
Katana-- her crying before the last fight was just very childish thing to do by the writers/director
Killer croc-- why & how was he...they didn't show anything
Enchantress-- to call out her Dr june has to say 'Enchantress', & I'm like 'what?'
Also, if enchantress is dead then why's she in the file given to batman at the end?
is Batman suggesting there'll be a Justice League V Suicide Squad movie??
i don't get it...whats the point of the show? in both series they haven't made a good arrest(each time its just circumstantial). their investigations are still open at the end of each season.
as far as the characters go we haven't seen any good behaviour from those who are investigating the alleged corrupt cops. they are short tempered, gambler, unfaithful(to the investigation as well as to their partners),...etc.I actually think there should be another Anti-corruption agency to investigate AC-12 unit.
only the character of DI Denton played by Keely Hawes looked to be a well written one.
except for villain nobody seems to know abcd of acting and neither does the writers know whereever they are going with that plot.
Unnecessarily made complex. Could've finished in 2hrs.
Everything begins with the older brother & so, has to end with.
loved the story & the cinematography, absolutely brilliant. Emily Blunt exceptional!
waste of all the talent and money. could've been over in 4 episodes comfortably. soap operas are better than this.
disappointment to this whole series as season 3 runs only on one sentence uttered by a cop on morphine. other seasons/movies never ran with conspiracies. that's why Jack would sometimes believe the villains that they didn't have anything to do with the crimes.
& then there's that same old Jack and Linda thing, again. I wouldn't trust them to be faithful to anyone.
& then Jack has a kid, idk why.
only the regulars cam, harry, wilbur & gang are the saving grace
after 2 seasons, this feels like the worst UK detective drama I've ever seen. but it was created in 2011, so maybe it worked well then, case/investigation-wise, but the characters were shitty even then.
season 3, is even worse. they just make others suffer, in personal life & in professional lives. and everyone else gets punished for it but never them. had it been some gangsta stuff or some misguided loyalties, I'd have understood them but this is...i just can't sympathize with them. don't know what the writer thought they were doing with character development, it has made it worse to watch.
season 4, continues with the trend to promote these ladies who aren't really that brilliant compared to others & keeps firing others for little mistakes.
one of the best crime drama there ever is. & the best female lead character created ever!
everyone accusing of racism looks unnatural in this, maybe they are bad actors or maybe the script was lacking. characters, except ps khatri are unlikable or have no depth at all. I've seen shorter dramas with more depth than this, for example The Tower S01 is just 3 episodes which also has Gemma Whelan in similar role to Rachita Ray.
I'm completely with Sarah, here. Adama would definitely like to believe that she's a good police but when she decided to cover up the girl's death after repeatedly breaking her trust, she's but a corrupt cop & she'll the same every time she's in a pinch & then again tell herself that she's a good police. & so I agree with Sarah that Adama belongs in jail for that "mistake" as Steve calls it. when people trusted with saving other people's lives make such "mistakes" it should have consequences, coz that was the job they were given. if they can't handle it, they should be relieved of that. & so should Steve. imagine if the dead girl were a distant relative of Steve or a black kid(coz racism angle), would Steve still sympathies with Adama or would he cry cover-up & shit??
this ending has me angry, really really angry.
I want to watch season 2 but only for Sarah but I see Adama returns too & I absolutely hate her to see her given another chance, that is so unfair to the dead girl.
so angry that I still don't know if I should rate it highly, for making me so, or should I rate it low since the ending is so unsatisfying.
not a great show but good enough if you're into some gangster stories. this definitely is way way different than season 1, where we see a detective obsessed over the psychology of the criminal & so continuously doing his job. season 2,has a different way of bringing the detectives to do the detecting but they do get there eventually, but then it ends up an action movie with very unbalanced power structure & therefore an unsatisfying ending, kinda rushed into it.
a little lacking script but the actors give it all, so that's something.
if his wife has moved on with life, Raymond absolutely has to. he can't remain angry at the world or wallow in his grief forever. hopefully, this episode ending incident will give him another perspective at life.
my main worry after this season is that Saga would become a bad human like det Martin. I wish she'd still keep sticking to rules. otherwise we'll get a lady genius psycho on our hand as a criminal with no one intelligent enough to catch her.
I don't understand what is she still doing being a field detective. this just killed my mood, no sympathy for her now.
This trope where they try to give another layer to a good character by making a good cop, resistant to be corrupt, has to be then become corrupt or be shady, is frustrating & makes me angry about these shows, like it did in Line Of Duty. PC Adama was a complex but good enough character, but then the real cover up at the end just made her unlikable even as detestable as the ones she said she wouldn't want to aspire to be.
You know, she's again going to be get used to catch another colored suspect & then ditch them again like this season. That's all I can think of, that she's not capable of making decisions for herself. Someone's always pushing her/leading her & she does that even if it is wrong. She won't turn out a good cop.
I mean, can you really be a good cop once you start telling the convenient lies? I hope she & the cop who helped her lie either get transferred out of the show or die or get caught doing shady stuff in the next season.
Know who really shines in these action setups, it's the villain(who has everything on line) & the main support casts(who go through smooth transition of their emotions), whereas the main hero becomes dull because there's just too much going on with him in every scene, so there's no real connect with him & the main heroine is just there as a showgirl.
Kinda expected more out of this series seeing that some remakes were made of it. But it's a typical action (-flick) like series, not really that exciting.
Slow burn time travel mix of mystery horror & psychology genres. Good drama, needs an ending though. Actors did ok enough.
a completely likable cast this season, can you believe that!?
& not a bad husband in this, can you believe that!!
they found a more toxic DS than the previous FLO. & her son, by God, he's same as her. WHERE HAVE THE DECENT LEADS GONE?
I was suspicious of the mum's bf/non-bf guy for some reason but he was never in the ambit of the investigation.
