Wow, that was the most I've ever laughed while watching a TV episode. Nichijou really doesn't miss, ever.
I was watching this episode constantly thinking "wtf?".
I don't think I've ever laughed that hard at a lamp falling from the ceiling before.
This is the end of an era and what a way for it to go. A truly impactful and breathtaking finale that will go down in TV history as a landmark in how to conclude a series in such an emotional way. Goodbye Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul universe, you’ll be missed but never forgotten.
A modern classic. I don't get the "too slow" comments. If there isn't constant action and talking it's bad? I guess it's too 'European' for squares.
Also the comments about the main character being stoic, yeah, it's called "strong, silent type". It isn't something new. You also must hate Clint Eastwood in the dollars trilogy.
Total awesome. My heart was in my throat continuously watching this. Great visual style, Awesome soundtrack, and one of the best movie openings I've seen in a while. The chemistry between Gosling and Mulligan is palpable. One suggestion when you watch it - turn the lights down and the sound up - it is a movie that requires your undivided attention...
"You're gonna have a good time."
This is technically a crime drama but really it is a story about brotherly love. Robert Patterson is great in this. He really is showing how good an actor he is and trying to put the twilight movies behind him. The cinematography is fantastic too. A lot of extreme close ups make this feel much more personable. The neon colors used made some scenes really pop. The original score is amazing, builds tension really well. Very good movie and I definitely had a good time seeing it.
Those signature Woo Doves is something I'll never get tired off!
Anyway this John Woo flick is still so much damn fun, fueled by his beautifully shot actions scenes, the ridiculous plot and the great performances by John Travolta and Nicolas Cage! HALLELUJAH!
Every re-watch is a joy, the only thing that could've made this one a bit more fun, is it's run time. A bit shorter would've made it a more re-watchable film in my book. But still, it's one of those classic 90's action flicks and a must watch for everyone at letterboxd.
the best worst movie
Excellent follow up. It's a dour, hyper-realistic window into the life of another petty criminal. One from the original, who served as little more than a buffoon caricature there. Here, we're pressed to follow him and see his other dimensions. Which Mikkelsen handles excellently. Great score, and another haunting ending. This is another great crime picture.
“Sonatine” is often mentioned as the quintessential Japanese mob film, but it’s quite the opposite. It’s an incredibly slow-paced, contemplative, weirdly edited film with little action, some old man jokes, and tons of escapist slice-of-life sequences. However, it definitely has its own unique mood that makes it worth watching.
Murakawa (Kitano) and friends are sent on a suicide mission to Okinawa, and spend their days drinking and playing games at their idyllic seaside hideout. We are shown how cold-blooded killers waiting for their inevitable fate to happen are unknowingly embarking on an internal journey to win back their long-lost humanity and innocence. The film lies the ground for psychological, character-centered cinema, but unfortunately, that’s not really the case. The characters are shown doing all kinds of things, but we are rarely taught anything about them. That’s why when they are eventually killed, it’s hard to feel anything at all. Maybe that was the whole point: to get into the same state of apathy as Murakawa?
This episode should've been called Slippin' Kimmy
I can't be the only one who is confused about wtf is going on and who these minor characters are.
I swear I can't stand any more Homelander drinking milk scenes
Nothing less than perfect !
Only regret that it took me a decade to stumble on it, but i am still extremely happy i did eventually.
WOW this is one epic racing movie! I found this movie by accident a few hours ago and i have to say that this is one of the best racing movies i have ever seen!
The animation is beautiful. I can see that those 7(!) years in production have certainly paid off. Its over the top, realistically impossible and i love it! This is a movie that has to be watched at a big screen tv and at 1080P. Anything else will be an insult to this beautiful movie that deserves nothing else.
Considering that this movie was in production for 7 years i feel that the story could have been better. Most likely most of those 7 years were spent on animating the movie. The movie relies very heavily on the animation and not the story. Also there are a few cliché characters in the movie, but they are not that annoying. All in all the animation really is really the one thing that carries this movie forward, which is why i gave it a perfect 10.
A few years back i saw the movie Speed Racer and although there are some similarities with that movie this one is nothing like it. Its easy a hundreds times better. Whoever likes fast cars, explosions and anime should watch this movie. You won't regret it.
Damn, Redline was one epic movie. I can't believe it took me so long to check this out. The animation is out of this world (those 7 years of production did not go to waste) and the whole movie just oozes style. I'm not even a fan of racing but this had me at the edge of my seat the whole time. Also, that OST was just bumpin'. I'm still listening to REDLINE DAY (feat. Rob Laufer) from the credits as we speak (click below). Madhouse can do no wrong.
Poor whale man.... wish there were more episodes. I knew storm front was a bitch but I didn’t expect her to be as evil as homelander, woah.
I just want for everyone who makes Annie suffer to PAY!
