I'm always amazed that the anti woke people don't realise The Boys is making fun of them
Gives me bikefeels. I want that fucking bike and a matching lether jacket. I need to live that biking life bro.
this is just... bad. idk how ya'll wached and liked it, it's just bad in every shape. i'm not even talking about the acting lol
If I'd watch this first in 2000 I'd give it a 8/10.
But it just falls a bit short in keeping my attention. Nonetheless it has my respect for doing it's own thing.
Definitely worth a watch and I can see why others would rate it higher.
when i talk about flcl i'm basically talking about season 1, the other two are reeally extras if i'm being honest, season 1 is a masterpiece if we're separating it from the other two
The episode list is completely messed up here, how do I report it?
This show is straight trash. Horrible writing bad CGI. The only cool thing is master chef's helmet. I could make a better show with your mom heyoooo.
"Perhaps you'd like to see Cats with me."
The most deranged peek into humanity I've encountered. Truly one of a kind, and is Chris Morris's masterpiece. Chris managed to convince Channel 4 to broadcast each episode with zero adverts at the time so there'd be no interruptions and honestly I wanna rewatch this by seeing all six segments uninterrupted, all just vignettes that make you question everything. Inspiring. Harmony Korine meets David Lynch meets Monty Python. You can't really review a thing like this. Unbelievable. I purchased the DVD after only seeing the first segment - I've only ever purchased a DVD before seeing it once before and that was Twin Peaks the Return.
Jam made me laugh until I couldn't breathe at a man jumping off a building to his death. This is the holy grail of sketch comedy. But also the most unsettling thing I've watched.
yeah this got silly in a big and brilliant way. i mean the whole premise is silly, isnt a lot of anime. this was by far one of the best anime in a while. this on the heels of AOT hopefully has breathed some life into the incest entrenched anime. the fanservice in here is of a self-aware kind. this is a great surface level anime but for those that want to go deeper, there's defiantly a lot there.
There's a lot of action. It's very fun to watch.
The plot is weird, and it's mostly fanservice, but still fun.
well...
I'm not really difficult, but the story in itself was quite weak...
The beginning is not that bad, but I really hated the ending : everything is unnatural, messy and poor.
This is not really a spoiler but
spending more than an hour in a burning (wooden) house without even caring is what I would call a terrible realisation...
In the end ? If you like thriller-like stories with a bit to think about (but really not much) and you don't search for something else, you can give it a try, but this was a waste of my time.
(from my old collection of anime reviews circa 2003)
Slice-of-life high school comedy. The hilarious tales of several odd and quirky girls in high-school, as well as their equally odd teachers. Quirky, off-the-wall humour. Ignores the boys in the school.
A brilliant anime with a very different art style and presentation. The story, as it were, is narrated to us by the nameless protagonist, as he agonises over how to pursue his "ideal campus life". Along the way he meets several other unusual characters, including his demonic-looking partner-in-crime Ozu and the mysterious Akashi, both of whom he seems to share a strange link with.
One complaint some people have with the series is that the narration from the protagonist is very fast and it's very difficult to read the subtitles in time. Whilst the dialogue is indeed quick, it is possible to keep up if you concentrate enough. Even if you find yourself needing to pause occasionally to digest a particularly verbose line, I would still absolutely recommend everyone give this series a go. Amongst a myriad of other, more "standard" anime, this one definitely stands out.
It's really disappointing to me that this is another good show that apparently people didn't care for, so it was just canceled. I wish I had taken the time to watch it back then. Honestly I just wanted Adult Swim to stay animated with regular cartoons at the time, so I was a little averse to the idea.
Anyway, this show probably would never survive these days, people get very upset at things, they dont understand things like satire, absurd surrealism, parody... Stuff like that. Tongue in cheek jokes like this entire show is, and how off the wall it is... Dang.
So there's sadly only 2 seasons... But anyway, it's funny. Bizarre. Exactly what I expected from anything related to PFFR especially...
I personally didn't ever like Wondershowzen, but i do like this. The new age satire is hilarious, and the words in the show they come up with are ridiculous :joy:
The first season was kinda cool and crazy. But the other two seasons are very boring and bad.
3/10
this anime doesn't make any sense at all, i can't understand whats happening
You could call this a real cyberpunk anime.
A pretty abstract and philosophical story about identity and who we really are. It leaves the viewer questioning about more than just the series itself.
Juicy detail: It is rumoured to be one of the series that had an influence on The Wachowski brothers for The Matrix story. However I don't know if this is ever confirmed or true, and it probably was a minor one compared to Ghost In The Shell. After all it was aired only 1 year before the release of The first Matrix movie.
It is not for everyone, but if you have an open mind and like more gloomy and philosophical stories, it is definitaly worth it.
grand tour is where its at now.... there's no top gear without Clarkson....
Mixing improbable car review, quality shooting and Clarckson's dubious humour. RIP TopGear
Thanks God, Top Gear Two (I mean The Grand Tour) is on Amazon Prime. :D
Would it be possible to distinguish between Top Gear AS WAS vs the new imposter. I don't want to not have Top Gear on my watchlist but I also don't want to be reminded of "new" episodes.
This was among the best anime(s) of Fall 2022 for me. Bocchi's characters made the show so lively (the irony).
It is one of those "cute girls doing cute things" themed shows that can be enjoyed by everyone regardless if you're into this genre or not. The plot wasn't anything extraordinary but will keep you attached all along.
