This Episode is basically one big reference to the Movie "Taxi Driver"
This movie was a false representation. They market this as an alien filled psi-fi fest- and it hardly delivers. Not sure if they were trying to put together a think piece- or try and make it seem like language studies are more important than they truly are.
There is hardly any alien, or military visuals in the film. Hardly any screen time with the martians- that isn't completely blurred.
You'll get about half way through this movie and think to yourself, "I know this isn't getting any better- but I'm already half way..."
Awful movie.
This was complete rubbish. I go to see all styles of movie's, comedy, horror, action, thriller, suspense. This wasn't any of them. If you go to see this, take a pillow. You'll get the best 2 hours sleep of your life.
Heavy on the fiction, weak on the science. This makes the human race look incredibly stupid. They are completely guessing at what the aliens are saying. They have no proof at all. Seems to me, beings would be able to decipher our simple symbols before we could make any progress with theirs, duh! They mastered space travel didn't they?
Also, in order to communicate in a first contact situation would be to use symbols that we both have in common, and the only thing that we could have in common would be the elements of the periodic table. Quantum physics would be the only way to communicate initially.
Last point, and this goes along with the first point. They mastered space travel, obviously superior. Wouldn't they have first contact protocols ready, before they actually land. Why come and just sit there looking stupid? Awaiting a primitive species to figure you out. Wouldn't they at least take the lead, not let some dumb college teacher to bumble things up.
I'm sorry but this movie is just plain dumb. At least the science portion of it is.
ten!
How have I only just watched this film? Absolutely breathtaking. The corridor fight scene, all shot in one take, is masterfully choreographed. I haven't seen the remake yet, but something tells me, it won't be a patch on this. Just watch it.
I'm always amazed that the anti woke people don't realise The Boys is making fun of them
I'd say that the biggest problem with this movie is its 1st act. It's too slow and it's also confusing in some parts. It tends to jump some important parts for no reason; like the kidnapping scene. That confused the f*ck out of me. This also happened later in the movie, when "Mr. Vengeance" appeared in Ryu's hideout, when the hideout itself had never been established nor did he look for it. He was just there, waiting.
Perhaps it's not any single person who killed Sohee, but perhaps it's everyone.
Great portrayal of the sad corporate hell we live in.
Gives me bikefeels. I want that fucking bike and a matching lether jacket. I need to live that biking life bro.
The least accessible of the trilogy. It's hard to tell who is who and who is doing what and why after only one viewing. The third act is so straightforward it feels like another movie.
Figured it would be a lot more gory given the comments, but no, it was exactly what I was expecting. It wasn't over the top and didn't show unnecessary violence, in my opinion. Great film.
i can surely understand how many people appreciate the artistic side of the movie, and i like to watch stuff like these where it feels like ur watching real people live their lives and not acting, but still it still was so painfully boring :( i had to use all my self-control to not skip all the useless 3 minute shots of the guy driving. i wanted to like it, but i don't. wouldn't wanna watch again
interesting and well achieved in terms of spaces, but excessively slow (many dialogues and scenes are unnecessarily and inconsequentially long)... Anyway, this is just my point of view, possibly it is "good" and "deep" for other people.
Another ‘masterpiece’ that is basically average.
I mean it’s ok but there’s nothing that stands out here. The idea is ok but isn’t done particularly well. The visuals are basic and basically just pointing the camera at people talking with seemingly no concern for aesthetics.
Pretty sure that if all the people who say this is so good just stumbled across it on TV one afternoon without knowing anything about it, they’d say it was completely bland.
Can’t go above 5/10
this is just... bad. idk how ya'll wached and liked it, it's just bad in every shape. i'm not even talking about the acting lol
This plot is so… lacking. I’m not sure I even want to finish it at this point.
So one girl is pregnant but nobody notices? For nine months? Or 7, or whatever, if it was an early birth.
And then they let one boy try and push a zombie out when it’s almost stronger than himself and everyone else just stands by idly and watches :expressionless: like… come on.
And they keep forgetting things. Bite or scratch marks are one thing. Why don’t you just check the temperature, everyone was cold to the touch before turning. And they all knew this last episode, but suddenly they don’t? :woman_facepalming_tone2:
This one has a far better plot than the original and everything else is also improved slightly. I don't get why everyone was bitching about it when it came out.
Just when I thought I couldn't love Kanamori more, she goes and does the Akira slide on her bike.
This was pretty funny haha
Re-L is so beautiful when she smiles!
The trio were really cute together like a little family :)
Batou and the major are everything in this episode
this episode was really disturbing
If I'd watch this first in 2000 I'd give it a 8/10.
But it just falls a bit short in keeping my attention. Nonetheless it has my respect for doing it's own thing.
Definitely worth a watch and I can see why others would rate it higher.
when i talk about flcl i'm basically talking about season 1, the other two are reeally extras if i'm being honest, season 1 is a masterpiece if we're separating it from the other two
the worst adaption I´ve ever seen.
Light, a stupid teenage student, uses the Death Note to impress Mia, a girl he likes.
They go rampage and kill criminals. L is getting emotional while it all turns into some comedy/love drama, because Light didn´t want to murder his own father.
If they changes ALL the names and maybe the title, the movie wouldn´t be that bad. But if you expect a Death Note movie, you´re only getting dissapointed.
I don´t even mind the "white whasing". I don´t mind, that L is black, Light is called Turner or Mia is just some random classmate of him. There personalities are all completely different and "Kira" is just a boring person.
Wow that was an emotional episode!
Was a terrible idea to walk into the theater with high expectations. Disaster of a movie. 4th was awesome. 6th was fun. This was just plain awful.
