This film would be more aptly titled "Poor Ending." Essentially, it endeavors to present a modern, loosely interpreted version of Frankenstein, yet falls short in execution. The narrative seems directionless, lacking a coherent plot and overall story structure. It's surprising that this film has garnered ratings around 80%, as the storyline did not resonate with me. While I admire Mark Ruffalo's work, his role in this film seems ill-suited. Emma's performance, however, was a standout. Unfortunately, the remainder of the film is marred by an overemphasis on cringe-inducing elements, gratuitous sex scenes, and excessive nudity. It caters to an audience that appreciates abundant profanity and nudity. Departing the cinema, I couldn't help but feel a sense of frustration over the three hours spent watching this film.
Which steering wheel did he buy in the movie? :P
10/10 out of "John Wick" category! No plot, just pure action, and... John Wick in butcher mode. I must say that 4DX effects are so good in this movie (best 4DX since Thor: Ragnarok).
I don't understand why this movie has such an inflated rating. CGI is very weak. Most of the scenes look like they were out of a 2010 movie. In the movie we have another female protagonist who is clumsy, can't even hunt a rabbit for dinner, but she faces an adult Indian hunter and wins scuffles. Plus, she's pretty omniscient for a savage. She knows about thermovision and understands how it works (I know there was a scene where a poacher who took the herbs is lying on the ground and the Predator can't see him, but kills him 3 seconds later, so for someone who lives in the forest, she has a lot of IQ and perceptiveness).
In turn, the Predator is wounded several times by a wolf, bear, savages, poachers, goes into a trap, is shot in the back of the head, but he does not even see a scratch or signs of fatigue. The more that he is not in full armor, but almost naked.
The final fight scene is embarrassing. Previously, the Predator had cut through a thick tree along with the poacher's head using a shield. Now our heroine gets a punch in the face and nothing happens to her (a moment later Predator cuts stones with the shield). In addition, the Predator somehow cuts off his own arm (I don't think they had an idea for a fight).
It's not that I hate women in movies or something, but when Predator movie is made, you have to choose an actor or actress who will be a worthy and, above all, credible opponent to the beast. If there were someone like Sigourney Weaver or Linda Hamilton here, the whole reception would be completely different. Unfortunately, the times are as we have them and you have to show that a small, young girl can also be strong. Good thing Predator wasn't Asian or whatever...
To sum up, it's hard to find anything good here. Probably only that, after all, it's nice to see a movie from the well-liked and old series. My rate 5/10 (+1 because it's Predator movie).
My favourite franchise completely destroyed with tolerance... This series made me cancel my Netflix subscription.
I have come to the cinema without any expectations. I'm not Top Gun fan, I watched the 1st part 3 days ago. This movie was always something that I have missed in the previous era. From the sequel I expected something similar to the archetype (or worse). I was so wrong. This is really solid piece of cinema. I miss movies like this - simple story with some plots, good casting and acting. I can sincerely recommend this one!
There is one sad thing about movie... It really showed what the world has become and how stupid the majority of our population is.
Overall, I hate multiversum idea and I'm not a huge fan of Spider-Man. After this movie I'm gonna change my mind (at least a little bit). I recommend watching all the Spider-Man movies before this one (even with Tobey Maguire and amazing Andrew Garfield). The story is very good, the fights are spectacular and ofc there are lots of funny and touching moments.
I grew up playing RE series over and over. I was also a fan of the previous series with Milla Jovovich (which was bad, but I liked it anyways because any RE movie is better than nothing).
I was hoping for something really good... I will not talk about the appearance of the characters and the visual similarities to the original (btw. casting was better in the previous one IMHO). I know we have times of tolerance and it is really modern to pick some Indian guy to play a guy (which is white in the RE series). Anyways, I expect the actor to behave the same as a character he is playing. I guess the director of this movie didn't play/see any of games.
This movie has couple things that are soo bad:
- acting which is totally different than you expect (knowing the series) - Leon is a pussy, Claire and Jill are clever bitches (they probably wanted to show that women are strong, but c'mon, you don't need to be a badass to be strong - Jill and Claire were strong in their own and cute way, here they destroyed these characters completely)
- I'm a fan, but my wife has never seen any RE game/movie, so she was confused about the virus (what T/G means, what about Umbrella, where is the whole lab, etc.)
- story is going so fast that they missed many things that would make this movie way better
- I would expect at least one, good boss fight (where is Mr X or Nemesis? I feel like this movies should be a series instead)
- they completely ignored important plots, instead they showed up some known places from the game, expecting it will be enough to make fans happy
When movie started I was happy seeing the man in the truck, because I thought "ohhh yeah, I was waiting for that movie"... But after that the stardust rubbed off...
So bad... Poor plot of the film. Instead of something about aliens and invasion we get a dose of personal melodramas. It's low-budget film with retarded aliens who have a technology to invade the other planet, but are so stupid that anyone can trick them and hide 1 meter away... Don't watch this crap, seriously. I don't write many comments on Trakt, only when I feel I have to...
Honestly, I don't understand the boom for this series... I know ppl want to know next games and that's why they are watching this. But I couldn't look at the mistakes. Policeman with cellphone that has immortal battery. He also sends 10 movies and photos to his officer, but doesn't include GPS data xD Also the leader always says "you are all equal, it must be justice in the game" - later he gives totally random game (glass bridge) and turns off the light when there is someone who can recognize which one is right. And the VIPs. I don't know why they introduced these ppl. If they were from the beginning then ok, but they appeared somewhere in the end introducing nothing to the plot of the film. For me 6/10 because they had pretty unique idea for the movie.
This movie was soooo good! Very funny gags. Many references to the previous part and some things from the real world. Political correctness has been set aside and we were able to laugh at all sorts of polite jokes. I'm glad movies like this still come out these days.
I don't understand where this hype goes from? I watched 2 episodes already and it was a pain (20min was like 2 hours of pain). It is sooooo boring. The only thing good about this series are actors and scenery/style. Good job director. But for now I don't know if I'm gonna continue this. I was waiting for that series... I'm so disappointed...
Watching it again after years. Still a good one :)
