Ouch, that average rating! I'm not going to lie though, I genuinely had a fun time watching 'Madame Web'... perhaps I should be keeping that fact quiet?
I don't know what to say, I found it to be suitably entertaining. I'm sure there are plot holes aplenty (I noticed a few) and it probably makes zero sense/isn't a good adaptation compared to its source material or whatever but honesty... I don't care, it gave me enough enjoyment that I wasn't questioning anything about what I was watching.
The cast are probably the key factors as to why I did enjoy this. I previously knew of Dakota Johnson but hadn't actually seen her in anything properly, I found her performance to be more than noteworthy and she spearheads the film strongly. The trio of Sydney Sweeney, Isabela Merced and Celeste O'Connor are positives too.
Tahar Rahim's antagonist, meanwhile, is poorly written and portrayed, though I personally thought the actor did a good job. I have no complaints with anyone who appears onscreen to be honest. Away from them, the pacing and score are also standouts.
In my recollection of viewing this, I truthfully haven't got any issues with it. If it wasn't for the slight bad murmurs that I did hear about pre-watch (though not much of it as I avoid as much as I can with movies) and the reaction on sites like this post-watch, I'd not be questioning my thoughts about this whatsoever.
As I always say, to each their own. For me, gimme a sequel (as long as the cast remain, mind). Not even sorry.
Movie isn't as bad as everyone says it is. Treat it like an origin story movie that sets the scene for a larger universe...
Yes, first hour is pretty slow and at times the dialogue is clunky but you can still find enjoyment out of the film.
Wow i didn't see that coming, usually most dramatic movies end up being predictable halfway through but they did a great job with this. Yeah i teared up, am not made of stones
I absolutely loved this episode. I don't usually rate single episodes, or write comments at all, but this was a 10 out of 10 for me. The episode reminded me of Community at its very best until, towards very end, it wasn't Community at all. Wow.
I'm just sitting here now dreaming that one day I could create something as good as this.
He said your face tattoos make you look like someone tried to paint a worn out dildo with a Sharpie bahahaha
I’m a sucker for these small town, Gilmore Girl types of shows... this was a cute series. I’ll be watching season 2
I really have no idea how to rate this...
This was so confusing!!
That time jump was CRAZY!!
They went through almost a YEAR!!
MEREDITH WAS PREGNANT!!
AND THAT FUNERAL WAS LIKE 2 MINUTES THING??
Mer is doing almost the same thing her mother did.
I really... really don't like Dan, they're trying to make look like he's the perfect guy for Callie with the same things she went through with Arizona, like make her the bad person or something??
Why Callie got to spend Christmas with Sofia but NOT Arizona??
So NO MORE CALZONA??? That's it?? You CAN'T TAKE ALL THE COUPLES AWAY FROM US!!
NO MERDER?? NO CALZONA?? JAPRIL SUFER!! This is stressfull!!!
Jackson & April break my heart a little and April scared me a lot. Why Owen leads people to war? Although, thanks to Arizona I could understand why she leaves.
I like the scenes of Ben & Bailey, they're really cute and it's been awhile since we saw them like that.
I love Alex & Maggie friendship. So cute & cool.
Jo was so good in this episode. I missed Steph.
Mama Avery & Webber are TOO CUTE!! Finally they got engaged!! Was about damn time!!!
Amelia was SO GOOD in this episode. That momment when she cries & Owen was with her, was so AMAZING.
I'm not so excited about next episode, I still gonna watch this show, but they need to get those ideas clear so I can understand and follow them.
Cristina should have done a guest star appearance...
This season has been one of the best since the early glory days of Grey's and this episode has been its crown jewel to this point.
GREY'S hasn't been a consistent show for years now, but when they get it right, they really do it. Best episode of an already great season so far.
Mona has been a terrific addition and single-handedly made the B-plot better than the A in this one. (Although Hank fanboying all over Hemingway wasn't bad, either.)
JOHN CONSTANTINE!!. HOLY FUCKING WHAT? I WAS JUMPING. I FUCKING LOVE THIS SHOW
Genuinely funny, with some great movie references hidden within, and a script that is sharper than the usual generic animated fare. More like this please Netflix.
I still don't get it why people have not mentioned it as an absolute garbage!
How good was the last shot?!
Nasim Pedrad and Lamorne Morris back together for this movie; Yes, I have to watch it. Fun movie, some good laughs, solid plot and likable characters. I loved Nasim and Lamorne in New Girl and this movie proved once again that when two actors have good chemistry a movie just works. Truly enjoyable movie for a night in.
This movie was honestly better than expected. It had a strong storyline, believable characters, and some decent suspense thrown in. (Which is a reminder that you don't need gore to have a decent Halloween horror story.)
Pictures hang about on Google like a gypsy fucking curse. There's no cure for the Internet. It would never go away. It'd be glued to your name, a fucking stain on you. I'd hang myself if that was me.
I wanted to binge watch this season as I do with all Netflix shows but these episodes just feel to real and I time in between to digest them.
Hasn't anyone noticed that the Meow Meow Beenz app was used identically for a Black Mirror episode? It's basically the same plot but treated differently
The only thing that bothered me was the fact that when she finally named the girl, she named her Olympia, rather than Cinderella/Ella
Okay action. Terrible dialogue and meh acting
Enjoyed more than i expected..Had some good plot twists 7.5/10
Darcy is so great. Kat Dennings should've had even more screentime in this.
If Tarantino and Edgar Wright had a baby... it would have been born at the El Royale.
It's an amazing movie provided you know what you're going in for. There'll always be moody critics who will find faults.
This movie is exactly what it's trailer states. A light hearted murder mystery with comedy in between.
Jennifer Aniston was lovely as always.
I especially love the ending to it
Spoiler
They end up on the orient express.
I agree with the other comments that the story is pretty flat, and I really would have liked to have seen more of the actual perfect dates, but the characters were charming, the touching moments relatable (if sometimes cheesy), and most importantly, the jokes were hilarious.
It wouldnt be a AHS season without Ryan Murphy screwing everything up at the final scene.
