This show seems clinically incapable of disappointing. How much longer can it keep up this quality? I hope a long long time.
[8.1/10] It’s funny the things you notice on rewatch, like a subtle theme in this one of the members of the group looking for affection and fulfillment in other places and coming back to their friendship when they realize it’s what they really want.
That’s most adorable and most obvious in the Troy/Abed story. Their joint efforts to woo the librarian are, as she herself puts it, the cutest thing to ever happen to her, and there’s that combination between sweet and weird in their courtship efforts that’s the foundation of the Troy/Abed relationship. Troy bailing on the librarian when she says Abed’s weird, only to end in a hug with his best friend, is a nice note to close on.
The Britta/Annie story is fun in that regard too. There’s a solid comic setup in Britta and Page both thinking the other’s a lesbian and having the smug pride of being a progressive straight person as the only reason each has befriended the other. But for all the satire of that (and the gleeful schadenfreude of Britta and her ersatz counterpart being secretly judged by Annie and her ersatz counterpart), there’s also heart when Britta realizes that far from the “brave admiration” she thinks she wants for her friendship choices, she’s more touched by Annie’s support, which ends in just as nice of a hug as Troy and Abed.
Then there’s Jeff. His “this is a fight” moment with the group, which somehow gets cross-pollinated with an amusing riff the Barenaked Ladies, is silly but archly so, with that comic tone that Community mastered. His hosting Prof. Duncan, and eventually Chang, and eventually a whole party gets a little loony, especially when it turns into an elaborate scheme from Chang to squat there.
But I like the aftermath, where Jeff is the life of a party, but realizes he misses his friends. The fact that they can get by without him, and the realization that being their friend is a blessing, something he wants, not an obligation, is that extra depth that set this show apart. Naturally, he tries to impart some encouragement to Pierce, who has been chatting with a pain pill-encouraging hallucination of Andy Dick. Okay, this show is weird too. There’s a definite dark goofball quality to Pierce’s psyche convincing himself to keep taking pills, that goes just plain dark when Pierce is laid out on a park bench.
It’s the characteristic glimmer of something sad and serious in the midst of all the heart and frivolity. But that just makes this episode more complex and interesting and rich. Overall, a nice off kilter holiday episode that has a sideways and somewhat fractured but still affecting moral behind it.
I am not sure why I keep watching it
"In conclusion, you're ugly. I make money."
"I'm like a lollipop with a question mark on the wrapper. I don't know what's going on inside."
#OMG I l o v e d that punch! Hahaha'
Liv! Liv! Liv!
Destroy Rita, Gilda, fake b**ch one hahaha !
Good episode!!! I enjoyed itvery much. The fights were awesome and very well coordinated. I enjoyed all of them pretty much. Besides,Laurel and Quentin's runaway in just one shot was amazing. I loved it. I just Wonder wth is Damien doing with the underground corn and why on Earth does his wife have to be mayor. Plus, I don't like Ruve. She is kind of annoying, anyway.
And that ending was like WTH!?!? So now Damien wants his daughter to play dates? Besides, there's something I don't really get. Like come on, do you really believe that William, a boy we have just seen for a few minutes is the moat important person in Oliver's life?I don'tbuy it. I also enjoyed Thea's reaction to discovering Ollie had a son. And Diggle's thingamajig to blow hammers away. It was kind of awesome. And Lyla, who now is running ARGUS, that's why she and Dig will be in the flash episode helping him to defeat King Shark. I'm looking forward to it. Also to see next week's episode of Arrow with Vixen. I can't wait. The minute I watched the end of this episode I looked for next week's promo. I have to confess I like Dahrk's character. Very funny. You should check the promo.
I also Wonder what the hell wants Reiter. It's beginning to Look quite strangr, even though I don't get the point of the flashbacks.
Anyway, good episode with a different way of killing. Now demolitions. I didn't see that coming. Good fight scenes, runaways, good connection Between Quentim/Donna and Ollie/Felicity. And that present. Curtis' present was so lovely. Let's see how it works and Felicity's reaction to knowing that Ollie has a son.
Can't wait to next week!! see you then Boys
So glad Ray found some dwarf star. Three episodes of whaaa! I don't have a suit was too much.
I'm so in love with all of the three Snicket siblings
I do not understand the poor ratings for this season are for.
I mean yeah, TWD is changing its approach to their audience a bit by adding more drama and less action then usual, but if you cannot adapt to the very slight change to the show, then I feel bad for you.
Such an amazing episode!
It just left me speechless.
Now I can tell with no doubt this is the best season of the walking dead so far I hope that they keep this level of awesomeness!
But the part that made me sad about this episode is that it focused on Carol and we all know what's going to happen next in this show unless a miracle happens.
10/10
The end car scene was so incredibly heart breakingly beautiful. To see Liz finally admit she cares for Red was beautiful - even after she's tried to limit their relations to purely work, has tried to flee frm him or not talk to him and at times purely hated him; ultimately she would risk her life for him. And to see Red completely vulnerable, even if it was only for a few seconds, was incredible. GREAT performances
Some people are just very good at deceit. For a moment I thought during the Dentistry scene alliances had altered. Fooled me again Red!!
Between Red's, and Tom's last scenes in the episodes... jesus-fucking-christ.
The only good thing about this episode is JAHA GOT FLOATED! FINALLY! HAHA!
This episode made me catch my husband crying. Good job Bob’s Burgers.
Personally, seeing all the different styles makes this one of my favorite episodes of Bob's Burgers!
I really have no idea how to rate this...
This was so confusing!!
That time jump was CRAZY!!
They went through almost a YEAR!!
MEREDITH WAS PREGNANT!!
AND THAT FUNERAL WAS LIKE 2 MINUTES THING??
Mer is doing almost the same thing her mother did.
I really... really don't like Dan, they're trying to make look like he's the perfect guy for Callie with the same things she went through with Arizona, like make her the bad person or something??
Why Callie got to spend Christmas with Sofia but NOT Arizona??
So NO MORE CALZONA??? That's it?? You CAN'T TAKE ALL THE COUPLES AWAY FROM US!!
NO MERDER?? NO CALZONA?? JAPRIL SUFER!! This is stressfull!!!
Jackson & April break my heart a little and April scared me a lot. Why Owen leads people to war? Although, thanks to Arizona I could understand why she leaves.
I like the scenes of Ben & Bailey, they're really cute and it's been awhile since we saw them like that.
I love Alex & Maggie friendship. So cute & cool.
Jo was so good in this episode. I missed Steph.
Mama Avery & Webber are TOO CUTE!! Finally they got engaged!! Was about damn time!!!
Amelia was SO GOOD in this episode. That momment when she cries & Owen was with her, was so AMAZING.
I'm not so excited about next episode, I still gonna watch this show, but they need to get those ideas clear so I can understand and follow them.
I just want to grab Red by the scruff of the neck and yell, “TELL HER!!”
So glad The Blacklist is finally back. Great episode, great acting.
That ending, phew. I honestly though Aram was gonna get killed, Red scared him to death there haha.
"If it wasn't about the sex, then why did you have sex?" Ha. Like a boss!
That scene where Keen was taken away from Laurel and Peter was so satisfying.
Had to watch few scenes like 3 times to take everything in haha. Great episode. 9/10
I had to check if I was on the right show in the beginning but great episode. One of the bests this season. I know that feeling, Gretchen. I know...
"That disguise wouldn't work even if you smeared grease paint all over yout face"
Maseo foreshadowing The Arrow's first "mask"
Also, Diggle's brother saw Oliver. Could that be trigger that will set in motion the events that will lead to his death?
Lady Gaga was made for this show.
All of this chaos could have been avoided if Thea killed a scumbag every once in a while
I still can't believe that Katie McGrath is real and beautiful and she wore a leather dress and a pantsuit and looking at chessboard like some evil villain master mind. Little Lena and Lex are cute, I can't. And you can't take away the headcanon that Lena was not a Luthor by blood from my hands, thank you very much.
This season has been one of the best since the early glory days of Grey's and this episode has been its crown jewel to this point.
It's a shame they killed off Jerome. With just a few episodes he managed to be the coolest villain on Gotham so far. Nice one, kid. Nice one.
Alfred/Lee scenes were hilarious, the last one with Jim killed me. Jim's facial expresions are pure gold, love him.
Did i understand that correctly? Has Piper accidentally started a White Power KKK gang?!
I haven't laughed too much with this show lately, but when Schmidt finds out Jess made out with his dad I laughed so hard. Missed it.
