Well, this took me by surprise.
I didn't know the story of the Count Monte Cristo so it hooked me from the first minute to the last. It's beautifully shot, captivating and the characters are complex.. The revenge trope is brilliantly executed. The cast is also great.. I've been a fan of Sam Claflin for years now, but I think this was one of his best roles, maybe even his life's role. And I hope I'm wrong, but I think because this show isn't distributed by worldwide streamings, unfortunately, it will not receive the recognition it deserves.
PS. I'm also fascinated by how this show happend at first place, being a French-Italian production, with a Danish creator/director and an international (mainly british) cast.. I'm also intrigued by the decision to make this show in English, although it doesn't seem to be really distributed in English-speaking countries. Unfortunately having the show premiere the same year as the Count of Monte Cristo movie didn't do it favors..
aww i already miss that ridiculous show.. that was so much fun
References, cameos, soundtrack and Ryan.. there's never too much of that :heart:
I was sold after 5 minutes of watching it and after entire season my opinion remains the same - one of the most enjoyable series I've seen in months... it has everything: drama, (dark) comedy, fantasy elements and characters that are not black and white. I just love it :purple_heart: and I hope Amazon won't break my heart and order a second season
if a show could be a soulmate, this one would be mine :black_heart::black_heart::black_heart:
I'm not familiar with the comics and when I first heard about it, I wasn't entirely convinced... ghosts solving crimes, really? But when I saw Neil Gaiman's name, I decided I had to try it... and I don't regret anything, I love it with all my heart... characters, plot... and of course references to Sandman. Well, with Neil and people from Supernatural, it just had to work. I really hope we get another season:fingers_crossed:
Just one word: marvelous. And I'm quite surprised by this, because I never considered stand-up as my thing. And stand-up in the 50s? What kind of weird idea is this? But strangely enough, it actually works. Great cast and script. I hope that the next seasons won't change my mind.
I've never considered myself as romantic comedies fan, but I quite enjoyed it. Maybe it's because of the cast, which I liked (the addition of Nick Jonas was quite clever and funny). Or maybe I just needed something like this in my life right now. Either way, I'm really positively surprised by this movie (even if it was a little cringy at times). And who knows, maybe there is still a chance to become a Celine Dion fan? (still.. don't think so )
you know the feeling when you read a summary for something, tv show, movie or book, and then you actually watch it or read it, and it's always better or worse that you expected after reading a summary, but always so different than you expected? Please like me is a definition of that. I had it at my to watch list for years, but I read the summary, and it seems so cheesy and predictable and remind of a sitcom, and I'm not really a sitcom person. I didn't really think it's for me. And now I'm just mad at myself, for wasting so much time without watching this. Because it's a brilliant show. Josh Thomas is genius. It's funny but also sad at times, sometimes it's really weird, but that make this so original, and had all that life wisdom, which hurt sometimes (but in good way). I think I find one of my favourite forever tv shows, and I probably would rewatch it many, many times. Because there's nothing quite like that.
I'm laughing and crying at the same time.. that was great ending, but I would like to watch more. I miss this show already, especially characters, because they were so special. There isn't other tv show that make you feel so positive like Ted Lasso did :blue_heart::heart:
Very good ending of very good tv show, and I'm pretty suprised about not so good reviews because to me it was one of the best shows that I watched this year. Definitely memorable. Tom Holland was brilliant, I hope he'll get some awards for Danny's role. I'm not suprised that he need to break from acting after that.
After that I'm broken, depressed and just a f****** mess, but sincerly - mostly I'm very, very surprised. I don't know what I expect to see, but somehow it wasn't that. I saw so many tv shows and movies about two characters who are best friends and even if fans see between them something 'more', they always stayed just friends... until now aparently. Don't get me wrong, I'm very mad about the ending, but part of me is also happy. Because finally I watched the story, when bromance change in romance, and I practicly lost hope that anyone would be brave enough to do something like that on the screen between two main characters, who weren't defined gay from the start. So for that, thank you Mr Gaiman.
It's been six years and this show still has the best pilot episode I ever seen. I remember it like it was yesterday. And now it has also one of the best endings. Sure, it was less intresting plots, main characters behaviour sometimes irritated me, but still now when I watched it all I would really recommend it. This shows brings so much emotions that sometimes you didn't even know why you were crying, but you did. That was the power of that show.
What can I say? Just give me more.
Well, I didn't expect that at all, but I'm kinda love it. I never really liked Clint that much, but it changed a bit after this. Kate was awesome, I'm really liked Hailee in that role. Still I can't decided what realtionship I love more - Kate/Clint or Kate/Jelena?
Also it was pretty great see Kingpin again.
Oh, and nice surprise (to me because i'm polish) was that one of the tracksuits guys was played by polish actor - it kinda never happens in american productions.
I don't think there is any other tv show similar to Dickinson.
It's funny. It's very, very weird. And I just love it.
Sure, there are less interesting plots and some characters just irritated me sometimes, but still I think this show is something else
- something extraordinary. It's been a great journey and i'm sad that it's coming to an end.
I can't believe they really did that. I just love the multiverse. Now I'm kinda sad that I don't remember earlier Spiderman movies that well, because I probably missed some great references. But it was awesome to see Andrew and Tobey again (and Charlie? I really didn't see that coming). The ending was pretty depressing though
This show has it all - funny moments, sad moments and very, very weird moments. It's so different than rest of teen shows and I love it..
I miss it already
How to not love Lin-Manuel Miranda? It was truly magical. So powerful and meaningful. I love it.
