I'm always amazed that the anti woke people don't realise The Boys is making fun of them
I laugh every time is see this show. And I am watching it again for the (I lost the count) time. You become a part of that friends, you are one of them and you feel what they feel, quoting what they're saying. You even wish things went differently every time that something happens between Ross and Rachel. And by all that, every single time I laugh like an idiot at every episode. You got to love this series, forever.
This was a childhood favorite of mine. Still pretty good to rewatch as well. It's kind of like a more tame version of S.A.O.
What really makes this story unique is the style of direction that it takes. The story is written like that of an old western film, a genre of television that is rather iconic in American culture, but is rather difficult to replicate well. Somehow, the Mandalorian does an incredible job of replicating the feelings and action of old western films, all while including the various races and rich lore of the Star Wars universe. Truly a remarkable amount of effort went into producing this series!
I thought the first episode was interesting, if not a little slow. I am now 4 episodes in and I am hooked. Really familiar tropes are turned on it’s head and it’s such a great watch. I wasn’t a fan of umbrella academy as I thought the pacing was terrible, however with ‘the boys’ I feel so far they’ve nailed it. Everything feels relevant and not filler, I can’t wait to see more!
Edit: finished now, a brilliant watch throughout. The quality of this show put into context what has been wrong in other superhero shows for me. A breath of fresh air in a stagnating genre. Great job guys.
This is a masterpiece. Simple as that. Definitely in my top 3-5 animes of all time. This show has everything (comedy, romance, drama and, of course, tons of action). You fall in love with all of the characters and every side story and character really gets developed over 64 brilliant episodes. Don't think. Just watch.
I want to thank the other commenter who said it picks up after 10 episodes, because I was ready to bail after a few episodes, but I'm glad I stuck around because after the 11th episodes it's almost a different show.
Anime is not my main pastime, I'm more of a movies/tv guy, so when this turned out to be slow and a little bit silly (in comparison to the other stuff I watch) I was ready to ditch it, but the show switches to a different tone and gets a little bit dark in the second act of the story, it gets real and deep, and it was apparent then why people love this little anime, it's real good.
So, I'd advise everybody to stick around a little bit with this gem, you will be rewarded for your patience with a great story that will touch you and move you, because behind all that sci-fi and mystery there's real emotions.... goddamnit just watch it already...
First episode rocked. I couldn't be happier about a season based on The Boyz.
Loved the characters and the kids playing them, it's a new generation of actors. Loving the story arch so far. Can't wait for the next episodes.
I stuck around past the 3 episode rule, and I'm happy I did. For those that are bothered by Asta at first, just know that he gets better. The show is worth pushing past the first 10 or so episodes.
Having finally finished my slow burn of this series all I can do is agree with other comments here. This series offers a sense of tranquillity when watching that I have rarely seen anywhere else. You just get absorbed into sometimes dreamlike atmosphere of it all. Each episode is somewhat self-contained and you really never know how it will end. Some end on a happy note, some on a sorrowful one, some are more ambiguous or bitersweet.
The message throughout is very much that Mushi are not malevolent or evil, they are just like forces of nature, and can be harmful or helpful to humans. Each story is more about how people deal with these things, with Ginko travelling around and helping where he can.
With a second season just around the corner all I can really do is repeat other people's recommendations - if you haven't already, watch this series.
Definitely worth watching. Starts out slow and carries on that way for a while, but definitely picks up after around 10 episodes. Has great character and plot development as a result. Really interesting to think about and to watch. Would recommend highly.
I see people complaining this show is too “woke.” I think it is great. I’m liking even more than The Boys.
This is the most emotional anime that I've ever seen in my life. Probably my favorite anime ever so do what ever you can to watch this ASAP.
Absolutely hilarious people griping about "woke themes" - you know The Boys is also extremely woke, right??? It's a nonstop critique of fascism, U.S. imperialism, patriarchy, capitalism, and every other power structure that exists. So...yeah.
Anyway...Gen V fucking rocks and I am so excited to see what's next and where they go with everything. It's everything I would have wanted from a spin-off with a younger cast. I'm obsessed with this universe!
Accidentally stumbled on this and it's insane and sadistic and I love it! Definitely not for kids, not even for most adults. Crosses the line left and right so be warned.
A great Slice of Life romantic-comedy. Initially it is a bit boring but after a few episodes you'll get the hang of it.
It does have too many clichés but if you look past that then this is an amazing show.
Edit: 3rd Season Finished! Among the best romantic-comedy I've watch so far. Fujiwara ROCKS!!!
PS: Anime (Season 3) ends at Volume 14 - Chapter 137 of the manga. Anime has also skipped a lot of chapters in between so it is recommended to read the manga from the start.
This show is top-notch! I never was so touched by an Anime and I'm sure I'll revisit this show a lot of times.
I finished it all in one day! One of the best animes, in my humble opinion. Entered my top 3 — 1: Death Note, 2: Erased, 3: Hentai Ouji To Warawanai Neko
Charlotte started as just a funny show, however it got deeper and deeper with every episode. Totally recommended, action, mystery, comedy and romance. If you liked Heroes (American TV Show) you will like this one. One of the best of the season.
Wow I can't believe a show with so much sex appeal and fan service could actually have a decent story and great action scenes.
Literally one of the best things I've ever experienced. I put off watching it for the longest time because I thought I wouldn't like it but man was I wrong. I felt like something was missing when it ended (after rushing through all the episodes in about 4 days because I couldn't stop), I wanted more. I started reading the manga as soon as I finished the anime and I'm all caught up on it now. Can't wait for season 2!
Also, just a tip for anyone who's planning on watching it - make sure you watch after the credits on the last episode. There's a pretty massive plot scene afterwards that's very important and I almost missed it.
This is so far the best anime i've ever watched when it comes to Drama, Romance.
Fantastic story and beautiful characters.
This anime made me cry and depressive in the second Season, but i don't regret a single second of my life when i was watching this anime from start til the end (including the special episodes)
Abseloutly recommending Clannad to anyone who are looking for a new anime to watch
Season 1 Season 2
9.2 / 10 10 / 10Should i recommend the show?
YES. This anime will kill your heart, You abseloutly have to watch it
An incredibly wholesome Anime about life, loss, and being kind. A worthwhile show.
Edit: The third season started slow but wow was it incredible. It really made for a phenomenal story and a beautifully orchestrated closure.
Steam through the first 11 or so episodes, cause simply put stuff gets real at that point, and somehow gets even more epic And it may be my favourite time travel story ever. Watch the damn show already
There are so many flaws in this series if you look at each episode closely. There are plot-holes, things that don't quite make sense, and things that just seem strange. But then you take a look back at the series and the way it weaves and turns like a crazy ball of string, you realize how masterfully done the story was. It felt like a crazy, disordered story because that's symbolic of the "weebly wobbly, timey wimey stuff". But despite all the timeline shenanigans, I followed the story without issue.
The first 10 episodes start very linearly and get you setup. Then I hope you were paying attention, because things start to get crazy.
Overall, I really enjoyed this one and I'd recommend it to pretty much everyone. This show has like 8 genres and it does a great job with each one of them.
The ultimate playing hard to get anime.
Gets better as it goes on. Live through the first two or three episodes, and it does pick up.
The source material for this must’ve been incredible. The plot, the allegory, the characters, and everything about the story was so perfectly orchestrated. Even when I could predict certain plot twists, it still felt as if the release was good. I started to truly empathize with the characters and the aftershock of each death or character development in the series felt truly important. Gesicht was incredible throughout, and I really loved Epsilon’s character too, although I would’ve loved more development for his character.
The animation and music here just tied the whole package together. There was a lot of slow burn and tension building throughout the series.
Even though this anime has those same old cliches, It was quite interesting. Character anime was good and some of the scenes were very cute. Action part was king of OKAY though.
Worst part was, they didn't adapted the entire Manga or Light Novel, have to read those to complete the story.
