Spider-Man: No Way Home

Once you get over the spectacle of the 3 movie Spider-Mans together (which IS really cool)... the movie's not really that good.

The humor still has some of the most obnoxiously repetitive quips and "teehee this guy dum" humor (ESPECIALLY Ned, his "Lola", and now Happy) which alone kills rewatches, especially the first 20-90 minutes.

That said the good moments are still really good, mostly in the last hour of the movie starting from when Peter 1 finds out Green Goblin is the mastermind.

While I like Tobey Peter's movies the most his lines were kinda whatever but the scene when he stops Holland Peter from beating up Green Goblin was great.

If anything Garfield Peter easily stole the show by both being the most wholesome AND having an emotional resolution to a previous movie if you know the context.

And of course (most) of the villains were great. It's sad when ALL the nostalgia villains are way better than basically every MCU villain besides Thanos.

Avengers: Endgame

Endgame does have a few flaws I have like the Fat Thor arc just being really dumb and a few cases of cringe meta social pandering.

However, everything else is so good I don't care. Due to 'half' the cast being away we actually give the characters on screen more time to breathe, interact, and develop based on events from the previous movie.

There's still great action like Infinity War, but it's combined with the Clever "Time Heist" solution, a way to do in-universe nostalgia right while still advancing the plot.

And the last hour is pure amazingness from start to finish in terms of emotion, action, catharsis, and spectacle.

After a rewatch, possibly a top 5 movie of all time for me.

Avengers: Infinity War

I can see why people consider this the best MCU movie, and it does have a lot of great moments, good pacing, lotsa action, and somehow mixes multiple characters while still having soild story ending on a depressing note.

I have a few major issues though:
-The humor, I REALLY hate most of MCU's overuse of quips and "teehee im dumb" humor (especially Drax). This wasnt the worst case of MCU humor but had enough to anger me
-The pacing while good was arguably TOO fast, we don't have enough time to sit with characters since we're constantly changing perspectives without much character development

The Super Mario Bros. Movie

Finally watched since it got on Netflix recently.

It was serviceably entertaining and fast paced (maybe too fast paced?) And all the fan service was nice.

Some of it was a bit too cheesy for my liking (Though I guess it it was made to be a family movie) and some of the liberties for the personalities and backstories was a little off putting

But overall it was a good enough movie adaptation of a video game. I just preferred detective Pikachu and both Sonic movies.

Ant-Man and the Wasp

More of an emphasis on wholesome family stuff and less boring melodrama made the movie better than the original imo. Sadly the villains suck and Luis is still NOT funny.

Black Widow

Carried mostly by Black Widow and her personal story since she's one of the few consistently likable MCU characters.

Sadly Yelena and Alexei's typical "MCU quip humor" did NOT fit the tone of the story, was super unfunny and distracting. Also the main villain was boring as hell and Taskmaster being stoic female was disappointing.

Ant-Man

Cool powers and fights

Not so cool characters and humor (especially Luis)

Wholesome father daughter relationships were nice at least.

The Avengers

The action and certain emotional developments are good, but I don't like how inconsistent the pacing is. Too slow in some ways, too fast in others, and the requirement for half the characters' investment is on movies you may or may not watched if you don't know the MCU timeline. But even then, half the characters aren't exactly at their most likable yet AND Loki/Chiaturi in particular are way too underdeveloped even WITH the context of Thor 1.

Thor

A nice, simple coming of age story that's a breath of fresh air compared to the obnoxious overused cringe unfunny quip comedy in future MCU titles.

Marvel One-Shot: Agent Carter

A little too on the nose with the Anti-White Patriarchy Themes but at least Peggy being a savage was nice.

Jumper

The plot and characters were kind of a clusterfuck, but I will admit it wasn't boring and had potential themes going on instead of just going places real quick.

Sonic Prime

Really fun, much better comedy than Sonic Boom. Nice to have all the Adventure 1-2 main characters so they can have some sub-characters be important. The alt versions of every main character... got a bit much but they at least made the characters different enough. Sonic himself was great, sassy and cocky, but still prioritize his friends just like the games. Obvious minus points for it ending on a cliffhanger. At least S2 is finally announced.

Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi

Mostly worth for the Count Dooku flashbacks, which were great. Ahsokas weren't bad, but we're just a little bit more hit or miss. Honestly, the real flaw of this show is how short each episode is.

Obi-Wan Kenobi

Pretty much worth for the last 2 eps alone, plus a few great moments in ep 1 and ep 3. Sadly everything was hit or miss, mostly way too slow paced/too much filler at times. I actually like the execution of kid Leia it was nice to see how she and Obi-Wan ultimately influenced each other.

Reva... while I don't hate her, and I think her concept as a character was interesting, I just thought she wasn't very well executed. They clearly hyped her up as deuteragonist to Obi-Wan but it honestly felt like she got too much screentime in comparison to Obi-Wan for most of the series.

Outside of that, the fanservice was great. It was nice to see REAL lightsaber fighting again.

The Book of Boba Fett

The best parts of the show barely revolved around Boba himself. The first half was hit or miss.

The great parts clearly were by Mando, Grogu, etc. Them and like Luke, cad bane, etc clearly stole the show. Quite unfortunate.

Spider-Man: No Way Home

I still REALLY don't like MCU's overuse of the "silly quip" humor style, but this was still a very fun movie with a bunch of cool crossovers.
