There are movies, and there are films. This episode was a film. It was art. It was beautiful colors and images and music that didn’t need to be spoiled by too much dialogue. I recognize that, for many viewers, they could watch an episode like this and think “well, nothing HAPPENED” but I feel like I learned so much from this episode that has helped me appreciate and understand Carmy better.
I think the way the show has handled mental health has been spectacular as well. As someone who also has been shaped by trauma and finds it constantly popping up, often for the worse, I truly appreciate that the show has spent the time to make Carmy so complex and not just brush over the hard things.
