See? Those f*cking flies again!
The fucking janitors?! Hahaha, who wrote this crap!
I've soldiered through all 6 episodes and now can have my informed opinion. I'm so glad this mistake is finally over. Unfortunately, it stains the big title name forever.
This is 'True Detective' in name only. Would have enjoyed it much more if they didn't use the name for blantly marketing purposes only.
lol this episode really drives home the stupid supernatural shit they’re writing into the plot. I wish they’d keep it gritty and realistic like the first season.
Oh wow. I am watching this episode whenever I'm in a slump.
Wow. Just… wow! Incredible episode and a perfect palate cleanser for the ultimate-Christmas-from-hell episode.
Might be my fav episode of the season so far. Full of hope and redemption.
I think watching this episode is going to be a new holiday tradition. Better than most Christmas movies.
This episode, double in length, made me watch it halves. Not because it was long but because it was stressful. I knew what the ending was going to show before we got there. I knew that it was going to be tense. Coming from my psych education, I knew that in a family that is toxic almost all the time, the people with mental illness will look like the crazy ones even though they aren't. And this showed so much insight into how each Bear sibling has the predisposition for depression from their mother and yet Mikey's manifested and festered because of how close he was to his mother. Carm escaped and Natalie married a normal so she escaped too, but Mikey couldn't. The worst part is, some people might look at this episode and feel like it's just like their family...and that's heartbreaking to me because sometimes we don't even realize that our own upbringing is the reason we might feel bad about ourselves or our lives. Apart from that, great performances all around. Not a single beat missed. Jon Bernthal and Bob Odenkirk took this episode and made it theirs.
Umm… jesus motherfucking christ… that was equal parts INTENSE and AMAZING.
will poulter, the man you are
will poulter's character is probably the best mentor marcus could have. he's so calm, patient and open. I'm curious to see the growth that the Copenhagen trip will bring to Marcus (in his culinary skills and in general).
The hesitancy of Jeff while giving his number to Claire got me curious. He was leaving his number to the fridge guy at the beginning of this episode as 773-555-0901. He told Claire as 0902. A sad tiny detail.
this was intense and heartbreaking at the same time. best episode so far
Well, that escalated quickly.
Absolutely phenomenal show. I don't understand the comments saying it has no direction. It's that simple: depression, actions, causes and consequences. Nothing abstract or surreal, just extreme human behavior.
Also, every ending credit song is pulled straight out of my 2005 iPod.
The ending of every episode of this series is a masterpiece of camera work and music. Really stunning, and makes you want to continue watching on one hand, and revel in it on the other.
432 getting eliminated in this manner was kinda underwhelming. Not even due to his own hubris??????
"An algorithm could write movies and TV shows!"
"Not well though...."
Well played, writing team, well played.
The death scene was wild. So well done. I didn't expect the first death to be so crazy. Now, I'm extremely curious to see how the rest of them will be killed.
Likely in the minority here but I wish there was less sexual stuff and weirdness. It doesn't add anything really to the plot. The orgy music was on point though.
Despite a horrible, horrible season, the show concluded on a perfect note. The well deserved ending to the show.
So that was the best episode of the season and good ending to the series. Though the journey was plagued with some BS fillers and drama. Overall a good ending.
Perfect ending even though it's not the perfect show.
Nooooooo.
That cut from the funeral to Mare cackling at her mom in the car was gold though.
It felt rushed. They wrapped things up in 15 minutes and the rest was a flash forward to a Sally play and a spoof movie? No.
It felt like something was missing, I would've loved if they could've added at least two more episodes to explore all these events, the season was full of time skips which I despise in any show and the whole show felt rushed, somewhat sad for a show this great to end this way imo
