Am I the only one wondering how season 5 of Lois & Clark would have done the parents concept so much better?
If you've ever played Uncharted and wondered why the film arrived so late that they couldn't cast Nathan Fillion and was rubbish when it arrived, you've come to the right place.
This is the concept in all but name. The long arc story across the episodes plays like a video game.
'Drake' doesn't have half the charm Nathan Fillion would have brought to the role but 'Chloe' is as seductively brilliant as she should be... Sorry I should have said Danny and Lexi.
Enjoyable enough romp. Great locations and they struck gold in casting Sofia Pernas.
I wouldn't say this was 1) worth watching or 2) well made.
It doesn't strike the right balance of showing Savile to be the monster he was and the plight of the young 'uns he was abusing. I know it is a difficult balance to show the reality of how it would have been and the times/locations/circumstances... But still.
If I were a victim, would i feel this was an adequate representation of what had been done to me...? I can't help feeling, no - resoundingly.
That said, Coogan does a good job in his portrayal which was an elongated impression for most of it.
If the BBC feels they have somehow vindicated themselves here. They have not.
So best show I've watched and anticipated weekly since Tulsa King... And TK was more because Sly is a legend.
This though... Taut. Dense. Paced. Intricate.
Loved every episode and I'll be rewatching all 8 this week coming.
To the gods that control the green lights, this show deserves a second season - minimum! Don't be idiots. Be smart.
TV for adults is hard to come by these days. Foster and nurture it.
Overall this isn't quite worth the effort.
It's a French sci-fi drama. Don't expect Hollywood. It's more of your philosophical take on human nature juxtaposed with a take on today's billionaire space-race.
If it was just seasons 1 and 3, I'd have been a bit happier. Season 2 doesn't hit the desired notes for me at all.

3/5
I've watched only the first episode and I won't be going any further. That's not because I hate the royals or that I want to hate this couple out of some other agenda... I just didn't enjoy it in any way.
It's tiresome to see them rally against public life yet expose so much of themselves. I understand the dilemma of earning income when you've been a royal limits him in many ways.
But the crux of the whole show is that he's a badly damaged man, likely has been from a young age, and he saw her as a way out of his life. And she's a Hollywood actress so there's an absence of normality, intrinsically, on both sides.
To hear them constantly bleat on about themselves, their feelings and the negativity of their lives - they just need a good shake.
Tedious stuff. An hour I'll never get back.
Though the tournament was decent at the end of season 3, I think this has run its course now. If it gets one last season, it is worth wrapping up on a decent storyline. This season was more like an Australian soap... A pale version of the show that captivated us in Season 1.
I've seen some Hawkeye Does Die Hard comments and I think they're off the mark... Something like Hawkeye Has A Daredevil Xmas seems more accurate. (And Daredevil feels like it deserves another season as it was the strongest of the streaming outings by far and could have stepped up to a movie had Marvel been more about story than visuals)
Quite fantastic.
To see the machinations of how these things came together was a real privilege. Especially after 50 years in the can.
It's a largely riveting 7+ hours of watching despite having large sections of time where you'd love to crack a few skulls.... But that's exactly why we're watching isn't it?
You see a fractured band arrive. Upset with each other, out of sync, in various states of hangover - and after a few weeks, they're back to being the boys in Hamburg or The Cavern. Able to read each other's musical minds and play instinctively as a group.
My big takeaways were plentiful...
Paul McCartney is a genius and the backbone of the band. He should be more lauded than he already is for what he brought to the group. Let's face it, pretty much every song here came from him. With a bass or at the piano, he was a creative genius. And he was the driving force to get them to actually do something!
George Harrison was a surly little shit here and he seemed a nightmare to have to put up with. His own worst enemy.
Ringo looked like he had checked out at first but at the end you realise he was just happiest playing for a crowd. He's probably seen the rest of the histrionics non-stop for a decade or so.
The folks around them were a right mixed bag. Patience of saints though. And that young guy smoking big cigars talking about Libya needed a slap! :)
Billy Preston. RIP to you sir. What a cool dude and a master of the keys. His arrival turned a squabbling herd of cats into a professional unit. Without him, this wouldn't have happened. I think they'd have aborted it all amidst an argument.
What a tremendous job in restoring the video and audio. I can't wait for the technology used here to trickle down to the layperson. It was a quite astonishing upgrade and was wholly worth the effort as it really put us in the room with them.
To see the rooftop concert footage and the brilliant multi-camera of the (mostly) appreciative crowd below being interviewed - as well as the knobheads and misery-guts who have to piss on any joy - was a real view of miserable Britain in that period. And I'm British! (I'd hope that 5 years ago, people would've embraced it for as a break from the norm. In 2021 though, I fear now they wouldn't...)
Fabulous. A must watch.
Why not a 10/10?
I feel the song titles and the significance of each peformance was missing some vital info. "Was it the first time that song was played? Was it them noodling? Did that song appear on the album or was it used later as a solo effort?" Just a little more info would have added some much needed colour or even gravity to them.
The moment Paul conjures up Get Back from the ether was magical. His playing Golden Slumbers to Ringo another. And to see how fluid these classic songs were right up until the take we know as the final recording was staggering.
Bravo to all involved! And thanks for the music, lads.
9.5/10
Hilarious and brilliant take on modern family life.
Sticking two fingers up to the silliness of today. Brilliant! Watch it. Series 2 please.
Loved this show. It's been years since it was on but I recall the middle seasons - the Jimmy Smits years - being the best. It kept a high quality till the end though and it was a highlight of the week to watch this.
Some indelible memories from this show.
9/10
I miss this show. And I really wish they had finished it off well - not with a cliffhanger.
Dean Cain and Teri Hatcher were Perfect casting choices. Dean was a great Clark Kent and a very enjoyable Superman. Teri was ballsy, beautiful and bewitching.
The first series is a little formulaic. Once the romantic side of the show really kicks in, ai thought it was class-leading. The most enjoyable iteration of Superman we've ever had.
This level of humour, fun and class hasn't been reached by any of the modern superhero films or shows. The closest is The Flash but even that has some distance to travel to match the greatness of L&C...
8/10 overall.
