Are people really upset because they weren't using actual Portuguese? Come on, first, y'all are mad because it's in Japanese and you don't want to read the subtitles? Just focus on watching it, it's one episode a week, what's the harm?

Secondly, what's the point of a show if it's all subtitled? :joy:

Some American viewers are already annoyed because it's in Japanese and they don't want to read subtitles all the time. Now imagine Portuguese with subtitles for the entire series.

You can erase someone from your mind. Getting them out of your heart is another story.

Some people find this movie boring and unnecessarily confusing, but I personally think that this movie is one of the most fascinating and creative movies I have seen. If you enjoyed Christopher Nolan's Inception, I bet you will love Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind. This movie made me GASP and literally go WHAT??

The plot twist is insane and I was mind-blown by the end of the movie. If you are thinking about watching this movie, don't hesitate and play it now, you will not regret. A perfect mind-twisting blending between romance and sci-fi.

Neo-Tokyo is about to E.X.P.L.O.D.E.

This is the best animated ever made. Katsuhiro Otomo is a true visionary. this movie is a wild futuristic ride from start to finish. The animation is the best I've ever seen. The voice acting is superb and the story is spectacular. It's the perfect anime film. You can tell from the start how much time and effort the animators put into each scene. Plus Kaneda's bike is one tricked out ride.

It was so captivating, fast-paced and jam-packed with action that I never realized how quickly 2 hours flew by. It's a mind-blowing cyberpunk action film that has a number of great things which include the simple but fresh story that is absolutely driven by action sequences and the gorgeous animation that encompasses every single bit of it. It's also a gory experience, so I can't recommend it for kids. For adults, it's a full-blown explosive ride!

The First Slam Dunk

The BEST use of 3D I've ever seen in my life.

The CGI in this movie is by far the best I've seen in any anime, it's not distractingly 60fps smooth, but it's not trying to be a choppy 2D anime either, it strikes a perfect balance and actually enhances the experience.

I rarely comment on soundtracks simply because I just never really notice it unless it's crazy good, and this movie forced me to notice it, it was just banger after banger and really helped carry the countless hype moments this movie had.

This movie's absolutely phenomenal, and you do not need to be a basketball fan to enjoy it fully. Even at pure face value, the quality of animation this film flaunts is amazing. You might have genuine issues distinguishing this film from reality. It's just that well animated.

The final sequence is one of best sequence I've ever watched in my entire life. I'm an official Slam Dunk fan now.

Slam Dunk/10

Star Wars: Andor

It was satisfying for me because it’s sort of Star Wars for grown-ups – it’s a more realistic and complicated society that they’re living in and the claustrophobia of the fascist regime is palpable. I think we have a good season ahead of us"

Past Lives

At its core, Past Lives is an exploration of the profound notion of pondering our most significant "what ifs" in life.

Unlike almost any other film I've seen, this movie beautifully captures the yearning and longing that arise when we contemplate the paths we didn't take. It lays bare the raw vulnerability that emerges as we confront the choices we made and the roads left unexplored. Yet, it also highlights the inherent beauty in such contemplation, revealing how we can find solace, inspiration, and personal growth by revisiting the untrodden paths. It delicately portrays the painful yet cathartic nature of this process, compelling even ourselves to confront our deepest desires, regrets, and unfulfilled moments.

I really can’t recommend this film enough. It’s simple, yet extraordinary, in its presentation, guided excellently by great cinematography, remarkable performances, and a gorgeous soundtrack.

Laapataa Ladies

I can't help but share the joy of watching this brilliant satire #LaaPataaLadies, which presents a loud and clear statement on patriarchy and its many manifestations in the lives of 'invisible' women in rural India.

It delves into the lives of marginalized women, exploring resilience, friendship, and empowerment as they navigate societal expectations and stereotypes, shedding light on their struggles and triumphs while emphasizing the strength found in unity and solidarity among women.

The Art of War

Por Thozhil emerges as a Tamil cinematic marvel that seizes your attention right from its initial frame, maintaining its grip until an unforgettable climax. With its masterful narrative, captivating screenplay, and impactful acting, this production rightfully garners the praise it has earned. What truly sets Por Tholil apart is its ability to communicate a profound social message while maintaining a compelling narrative. It challenges the audience to reflect on the grim realities that often go unnoticed or overlooked.

Por Tholil is a thought-provoking film that touches upon issues that need urgent attention. It challenges societal norms and ignites a desire for change. It not only entertains but also educates and inspires. This masterpiece is a shining example of Indian cinema's prowess in storytelling.

It's how you wear the mask that matters.

This is unironically the best thing marvel has ever done, AND THEY DIDN'T EVEN MAKE IT!

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is an absolute triumph that takes everything we loved about the original film and cranks it up to a whole new level. This stunning sequel is a true testament to the power of animation, storytelling, and the enduring legacy of everyone's favorite web-slinger.

This isn’t just any animation this is THE animation.
Truly one of the best films I’ve ever seen. A true masterpiece, a sensory overload in the best possible way.

Scavengers Reign

"Scavengers Reign" is a fantastic sci-fi show that's like a hidden treasure. It's an amazing journey that's different from what you'd expect. Imagine mixing "Alien" with Miyazaki's style - it's both scary and amazing. The show balances between being scary and beautiful, keeping viewers hooked every moment. In a universe of repetitive themes, Scavengers Reign shines as a beacon of originality and brilliance.

Sapta Sagaradaache Ello – Side A

Somewhere Beyond the Seven Seas

"Sapta Sagaradaache Ello - Side A" is a truly well-made film. The characters grow on you, and it's cringe-free with subtle expressions. The music and acting are on point.

I really love this kind of slow, emotional, poetic movie, but the second part tested my patience. However, it's worth it; it's slow but immersive. The realism pleasantly caught me off guard. There are no song and dance sequences, no flashbacks of how they met or how he wooed her—just their present dilemma matters.

The camerawork at the climax is top-notch; every shot feels like a painting. The last 10 minutes' glimpse of Side B left me with shivers.

What is your humanity worth?

Ambani is the villain in this animated sci-fi series

He's the head of an indian telecom empire called 'Alliance'. Makers literally set fire to antilla and cooked him inside his own home.

I literally caught the fact that he is being portrayed as Ambani when I heard 'Alliance'(Reliance?):eyes::innocent:

Aattam

Aattam is undoubtedly important and shouldn't be over looked. Men who abuse, rape, or misbehave are not the only ones at fault, but also those who remain silent or show solidarity with them. Every man should fear this. It is likely to trigger many people & should be that way. A remarkable contribution from Malayalam cinema. Solid politics.

A unique style of narration. It's not easy to create a gripping screenplay for filming because half of the movie involves conversations between team members.

To me "This is Cinema".

2001: A Space Odyssey

"2001: A Space Odyssey" is a sci-fi epic that takes viewers on a mind-bending journey through time and space. It explores humanity's evolution, from our ape-like ancestors to the possibility of transcending our physical limitations. The film is divided into distinct chapters, each marked by the appearance of a mysterious black monolith that acts as a catalyst for change.

The first chapter depicts the dawn of humanity, showing how the monolith empowers early hominids to use tools and weapons. Millions of years later, in the year 2001, another monolith is discovered on the moon, leading to a mission to Jupiter to investigate its origins. Onboard the spacecraft Discovery, a sentient computer named HAL 9000 takes control, posing a threat to the astronauts. The film's climax is a psychedelic and enigmatic sequence that leaves viewers to interpret its meaning.

"2001: A Space Odyssey" is more than just a sci-fi film; it's a philosophical exploration of humanity's place in the universe, the nature of intelligence, and the potential for our future evolution.

A poetic collision of lives-

Does a human connection makes such big difference in lives? Yeah, it does.

The story in which trauma and misery turns into poetry and ends up carving an arc of smile.

This film has my heart, Beautifully crafted and made with love, Give this small little film a chance. Not many times an actor cries while reading a script. And it's also not so common for people to cry when watching an actor perform.

It's an adaption of Malladi Venkatakrishna Murthy's Andhamaina Jeevitham, and directed by the director who made Mallesham.

Everything you love, you'll lose one day, But in the end, love will come back in a different form.

In Black & Chrome, you can truly appreciate the interplay of light and shadow in each frame and the brilliant compositions of every shot. You also become more aware of the rhythmic, musical quality of the editing and how it enhances the film's purely visual storytelling.

"Guna" is not the only movie referenced in "Manjummel Boys." The main theme also connects to another Kamal Haasan film, "Anbe Sivam."

Who is God? Is it the light above? In this film, it was his closest friend who risked his life for their friendship, showing a platonic love we often overlook. Ultimately, "Anbe Sivam" suggests that love is God.

Another thing I liked about the screenplay was how it showed Subash's PTSD after his rescue, highlighting that inner wounds take longer to heal than physical ones. It reminds you how important it is to support people dealing with this with empathy and understanding.

The movie also examines how religion influences people's lives and decisions. It's a story that depicts the complexity of society and the role faith plays in people's lives.

The film intertwines the stories of five characters from diverse backgrounds, exploring societal issues like poverty, prostitution, and terrorism. It delves into the complexities of Indian society, highlighting the struggles and challenges faced by individuals from different walks of life altogether.

Gojira (ゴジラ) himself serves as a metaphor to the nuclear bomb. But it also serves as a reinvention of the Japanese past.

Post-war Japan is at its lowest point when a new crisis emerges in the form of a giant monster, baptized in the horrific power of the atomic bomb.

The movie has everything you'd expect in the MONSTERVERSE: It's a very good blend of action and human drama, exploring themes such as war, peace, guilt, and resilience. It puts disastrously stunning visuals and music on the table.

Just stop whatever you're doing and watch this.

This film is hard to sum up. It's absurd yet has a clear message. It feels like fantasy, but the characters are real. It's about childhood romance yet tackles serious topics. It might seem small, but it deals with big issues. While it may not have a straightforward story, it reflects contemporary history. It takes on an eternal emotion in a new way, making it a must-watch. This satirical comedy highlights the religious and societal differences ingrained in us from birth.
