Wow, not even Rebel Wilson could make me rob this flick from a ten! Five minute of screen time is probably the right amount of her never-changing-character-no-matter-the-film I can take before her spirit completely takes over the movie. Bet she's a lovely person but I can't stand her "acting".
Besides that this is right up my valley with it's satire take on a dark and serious topic that's sadly never get old. Great performances of the cast, great choice of music, great photography, great directing and a truly great story. Love it!
This is the movie Spike Lee has been trying to achieve for years while repeatedly failing.
Great acting, love Stanfield since Atlanta, great script and a feast for the eyes but it's a bit long with some parts that get a little boring.
Out of the predicted nominees this is my winner since I doubt they'll let a foreign movie (Minari) win again.
Will Patton is fantastic as the crazy-ligious Korea war veteran. Clear winner of the Oscar for supporting actor this year if it was up to me.
A lovely film I enjoyed from start to end, or almost to the end since I found the ending a little bit to abrupt which bereaves it from the top grade.
Only took Guy Ritchie 12 years to once again do the kind of movie he should be doing, finally!

This one really surprised me. Was expecting something on par with what WWE produce in general, garbage shows for children, but it was so much more.
Clyde and Minnow feels like two characters copied straight from Zoombieland, to bad they didn't make better use of them.
This was an 8 up until the fight scenes begun when it quickly degraded it self to a weak 6.
Feels like the writers came up blank on how to end it all or ran out of time and just scribbled something down that would kind of close it.
A great idea but it fails completely in the last 1/3.

This was so over the top I had to read up about it and sure enough this is more or less fiction from start to end. Great acting but that's about it in my book and very close yo a lower grade.
The Oscar's jury will probably love it though, political messages trumps quality.
The best executed "covid 19 lockdown"-movie I've seen so far with surprisingly good acting. But as a movie story wise it's kind of ordinary, nothing that excite me.
Still looking forward to whatever project Bornebusch is up to next though, like her style both as a writer and even more so as a director.
Just as with The Irishman, a lot of people will give this a high rating just because they are supposed to. Dont take me wrong, it's a good story but the movie is an hour to long.
This is like listening to and old man rambling on about some childhood memory with for the story unnecessary parts and details woven into it so you loose interest before getting to the end.
Got a bit repetitive after a while and made me loose interest. Well made in every other way though.
The Rooney character is completely misplaced and ads nothing but annoyance, would've been a 8 without it since I a bit surprisingly liked this very much.
Should've read up a bit on this so I could've prepared for watching it. Because with little knowledge of the persons that it's about you wont get much out of this exceptc some pretty faces, good acting and a visual feast.
But I rather would've spent the two hours doing something else because this got boring really fast.
Maybe I'll rewatch it when I get the time to rewatch Citizen Kane.
A nicely executed story but it's a story that has been told before and doesn't take long before you know how it will play out.
It's a nice looking movie with solid acting but if this had been an ordinary year I can't for my life imagine this being in the finishing races for an Oscar.
If it wasn't for the familiar faces of McDormand and Strathairn this could just as well been a documentary and I'm not sure if that's good or bad thing. It shows that they've done a wonderful job in the portraying but if seen as a documentary it's not that interesting. Very torn.
Knightley does one of her better performances in this one but it gets a little boring at points and would probably been more enjoyable if had been released and watched closer to the actual events.
If you just endure the first half of constant shouting it becomes watchable but not much more than that.
Better than the previous two in the franchise thanks to Will Smith not being in it.
Surprisingly good. Atleast better than the previously 28 sequels to Oceans 11.
The story is incredibly predictable and kind of boring so I don't see it winning the Oscar for best picture. Instead it should get two Oscars for best cinematography cause wow, just wow. It's a pure pleasure to watch and could as well been a silent movie as far as I care.
If you like the tv series Dag you'll enjoy this.
Lost interest somewhere half way through, never really got the feel of what the whole thing was about, and the time jumps didn't fit in. Great cast and photo but this CGI youth serum thingy was kind of ridiculous and poorly made, or the effect itself was nice but when De Niro moving around as the 80(?) year old he is it doesn't matter if his face looks like 30. Like when he was beating up that shop owner and kicking him to the curb, it looked like he was using a walking chair while doing it :D
This will probably be on of the most overrated movies for a long time, people will up vote it just because they feel they are supposed to like it.
To what purpose for the storyline was the part with Millie Bobby Brown in this movie? Completely pointless.
I'm allergic to time jumps back and forth, back and forth and this movie has a lot of it and it ruins the movie completely, and they really have removed a lot of story. Especially noticeable after having watched the 3h miniseries and the movie from 1994 in the last month.
Liked the opening scene then I got lost in the story line, pointless scenes and weird dialogue. Can't believe this got Oscar nominated.
Alana Haims performane is probably the only thing I'll remember from this in the long run.
I'm so torn about this. Hated it when I read about it, like "WTF? Another classic character turned into anything-goes-as-long-as-it's-not-a white-man-just-because-we-are-so-woke-now for no reason at all than just that?" Turns out that Holmes is still allowed to be a white man, but then I don't get why they had to involve him at all. As a S. Holmes movie it sucks since she's not as him at all, just like 007 died when Daniel Craig arrived, but it's still an OK flick I guess. So the rating is a hard one but landed on rating it as a Sherlock Holmes movie since they try to kidnap the name so a four it is since I can't encourage a behavior like this.
They should have given her a background and character of her own instead. Now they just counteract themself by showing that they once again have to take a piggy back ride on an old male character to feel safe for it to fly. Just like the hideous Ghostbusters remake....
Just create something new instead of fiddling with stuff like this, it's just counterproductive to the cause they are out to support.
Had such a high hope for this one and while Scarlett and Florence deliver the story, directing and editing does not. This is sadly at the very bottom on my list of Marvel movies.
Way to much illogic and plot holes, stuff that just happens, stuff that the lead for no apparent reason or explanation just knows. Another attempt of a time travel movie down the drains.
So for what reason is this nominated for an Oscar except Boseman and its 97% non-white cast? Because this movie is bad even compared with just other movies in the MCU universe. Boring story that goes on for an hour to long.
If this wins, the Oscar's as a measurement for good film making is dead.
