Honestly, what the hell is this?
cassie was just asking to get hereditary’d in the car going 100mph
I'm fuming. JD didn't do that for Elliott. He did it coz he has no life and was bored hanging round the hospital. Also taking the advice of a woman with a man waaaay below her level coz he was there when she needed him? Yeah I had a friend like that. Always looking for his angle to date me. Just like JD does with Elliott. Not good people.
I was really enjoying this movie but I gotta say that I found the final minutes, when Tom starts reading the names and the piano notes start playing and then the orchestral music swells up while the people stand up, to be on the cheesy side, to be honest.
I'm willing to work with this premise for a while. I would much rather they reunite sooner rather than later.
Just like the previous episode, this one wasn't that enjoyable. This season seems to be declining in enjoyment, for me. Don't get your feelings in a twist. As far as being funny, I hardly have considered that to be so. What elevated it for me was that it was enjoyable to watch. That seems to be less so than when the season began. Maybe a factor that plays into that is that it is already to its end. Well, close. The next episode is the finale, not this one. I don't know, maybe this show is the type of show that's best to be taken in when I've been away from it for a while. That seemed to be why I was very entertained at the start of this season, after having watched the first one long enough before that. I'm almost glad that it'll be over in just one more episode.
I was howling with laughter about Colin Robinson boring people to death with talking about motion smoothing in TVs. I. Love. This. Show.
Matt Berry as Lazslo is absolutely side splitting. I laugh so hard at his segments I have to pause and rewind it several times. “There’s a fucking ghost on the front lawn!” after the no sell on the porch and freaking out after was hilarious!
Let's face it - it's just not the same without BENNI :disappointed:
.. a seemingly tepid response to mass murder I thought
Finally, Angelville is over. A decent season but a noticeable step down for me from the first two. Really felt that the show was spinning its wheels for most of the season.
Great ending to the best season of hard sci-fi TV we've had in years. The show is only getting better, I'm sure its new home at Amazon will help make it more visible to wide audiences too.
The humor continues to be almost non-existent, and a pattern that I first noticed in the season premiere just gets more and more pronounced. Specifically, this is a 19-minute outing (if you don't count the credits) and it contains 16 goddammits and three Jesuses and eight shits. (It's easy to let a subtitles file do the counting for you after the fact.) So while the humor content drops, the vulgarity/profanity content goes through the roof. Yes, of course the show has always had it, but not to this degree, and not combined with such a dearth of funny stuff to go along with it. There also used to be a subtlety to some things that just isn't there anymore. In short, this continues to be a disappointing season.
Wow. Did not feel this premiere at all, downright mediocre. These last seasons are really going downhill unfortunately.
Watch as though a child and don't let the more annoying performances, lackluster script, and none-too-subtle social justice statements laced throughout get to you and you'll be fine. I'm not going to lie - this movie has some serious issues, but if you can reign in your expectations and just enjoy it for the visual majesty it is (and on the big screen in 3D), then you got a shot enjoying yourself.
Ok, not the show I started watching, removing from Auto download list.
Haha this movie is so unexpectedly bad, you think it's one kind of movie then it just does a hard 180 into insanity. I wish I didn't have the twist spoiled because I would of loved to have seen this unfold and had the big WTF moment.
A nice ending to an otherwise uneven season. The christmas special can't get here fast enough.
The Good:
1) Bill's agonizing realization of what she's become.
2) The Doctor's confession to Missie & The Master
3) Missie & The Master at the lift
4) "I'm THE doctor..."
The Bad
1) The resolution of Bill's story. Felt like a Dues Ex Machina rather than clever storytelling
2) The out-of-order intro. It's lazy writing IMO.
After three weakest Doctor Who episodes, finally, we got a even weaker one.
The plot was good, actually. David Suchet's performance was excellent, too.
But the storytelling was just terrible!
To call this another Marvel winner would be an understatement.
Volume 2 is the best cinematic experience I've had in a long time. The action is great, the various cameos hilarious, the effects awe-inspiring and the laughs frequent and well-placed (one of the few gripes I had with Doctor Strange). And in the midst of all this, what really drives the story and keeps the audience interested is the character development. The heroes with which we fell in love in Volume 1 become deeper and multilayered, and the new additions add fantastic new dynamics.
While still falling victim to some minor storytelling tropes, GotG2 is the epitome of the spectacle movie.
What Kong: Skull Island may lack in substance, it makes up for with sheer excitement.
Finally, a thrilling adventure movie, like in the olden days, but with the added creative possibilities offered by modern technology. Breathtaking scenery, a straightforward plot and jaw-dropping action sequences make this new Kong iteration a thoroughly entertaining movie, with Vogt-Roberts' dynamic direction not allowing for an instant of dullness. And the colors! In an era in which each movie has to be desaturated to feel epic, Kong really felt as a breath of fresh air.
The movie isn't without its faults though, mainly regarding some underdeveloped characters that are clearly cannon fodder, a bit of over-reliance on the tone contrast between comedic and tragic and some rapidly switching character motivations. It could really have used 15 minutes more.
These faults are, however, dwarfed by the pure experience. An incredible visual treat with no shortage of excitement. Solid 7.5.
The script and direction can be a little rough at times but an excellent cast and great dynamics between a family of characters made The Hollars an enjoyable watch. John Krasinski shows potential as director but he has some room for improvement. Richard Jenkins and Margo Martindale are both excellent.
Not quite as fantastic as I hoped it would be... in fact at times it was downright boring. Sometimes the film falls flat, the actors (or characters) not always connecting in an interesting way. There is scope for the franchise, Newt is an interesting character but Redmayne (who I think is a great actor) played him too low key and that didn't work for me.
However, I will probably watch it again. The story gets more interesting as it progresses but not as magical as I thought it would.
AND... Johnny Depp, I love you, I really do... but gone are the days when a cameo by you in a pivotal role is a surprise, its just tired filmmaking.
I wanted to binge watch this season as I do with all Netflix shows but these episodes just feel to real and I time in between to digest them.
Thumbs up if you said "What the fuck..." to your TV before the opening credits.
This keeps getting worse and worse every week. So many plot holes, bad acting, unnecessary romance and low budget make it harder for me to watch.
That final fight scene was better than all the fight scenes in Arrow.
That ending could have been accomplished in less than 44 minutes.
Finally over!
I donno how I'll be able to go on not knowing how Michael Burnham is feeling every 5 minutes.
