I agree the other doubts, but the many travels of the scientist was because of him getting shot during the travel, there is some mentioning on that. That's why he is the only erratic. What I really wonder is what happens to the 2053 cop in the past

For me, the main idea seems to be a parallel with religions. The cafeteria scene shows how strong a ritual can be in order to encourage people to do brave things while linked to brothers in faith. The whole series kind of play with the start of a religion, with followers, miracles (sight recovery and men coming back to life), fantasy stories mixed with real facts, rituals to reach a higher sphere (be it a Lord's prayer or any other collective ritual), and how this can change people lives, even when they get to be challenged by the reason or science. Very refreshing subject!
I'm biased to enjoy this as I've seen the opera. What I didn't expect is that I would enjoy the movie more. A masterpiece!!
Just good as the story is. Nothing really special or surprising. With this background, story and context you must be too bad to make it wrong.
Very nice film. Even though it's made for children there is a lot of action that entertain older kids like me too.
