The documentary is very well structured, it's not boring with a lot of explanations or moments that can make you sleep, its fast, concise and show us the reality this men passes through. Basically they are there because a road would be built in korengal and that road woud be very important for the population there, so they could have a easier route up toward the Pech River Valley, and their job was to protect the people there.
But this makes me thinking... i have so much respect for these guys, because these men that lay their life on the line. Its just a simple thing, its a road! Its simple for me and for people like us that lives in civilized countries... and this man can die, and some of them die, because of this...
Another thing that is beautiful and shows the brotherhood is that the name Restrepo comes from one friend of them that died in combat and 2 months after his death they pushed into the valley and established a new outpost, so they name it Restrepo. This outpost was crucial, because it changed the dynamic in the entire valley.
Overall this documentary is a must watch, 10/10! After this one, KORENGAL is the next to watch!
R.I.P: Vimoto - Restrepo - Rougle - and all the other men!
Just wanted to watch the film because of Frank Grillo and definitly worth watching because of him! What an amazing actor!!! The film is not amazing but it's good. Frank Grillo makes the movie worth watching, because in the overall the story is good but the cast don't match the type of story, could be a lot better with different cast.
Frank Grillo & Anthony Mackie are the ones that makes the film good, so i recommend just because of them!
I would say that the movie is a little bit short because they rush some things in the story that they could go more in deep and get more not just from Frank and Anthony but from Christian Cooke for example. The film starts already in a rush because of the crime and everything is fast and you don't know what is happening and who did what to who and who is the bad guy or who are the good guys, is a little messy, they could improve more, but i get it what they tryed to do, i just think they could show more in detail about the characters, for example the past from Mateo (Christian Cooke) and Abe (Frank Grillo).
The film is just 1h and 10 minutes, and more 10 minutes for the credits... If the film was around 2 hours would be enough to go in detail with some characters. I'm not hating, i liked the movie thats why im sayng that, because i would love to see more!
