I have almost no idea what happened, but I liked it. Might be my favourite James Bond film.
What a great movie! What movies should be like. This needs to be viewed in theaters! Highly recommend.
Wow what a ride. So much to process. Good laughs and also some tears. Will need to watch it again. Thank you James Gunn for the Guardians of the Galaxy
i think of it like this: if youre going to eat a sandwich, you would just enjoy it more if you knew no one had fucked it.
This is definitely not as bad as people make it out to be. Yes, it's not Interstellar. Yes, it's ridiculous. But it's also a lot of fun, and John Bradley delivers the laughs as expected.
God damn, James Gunn out here making grown men cry multiple times! He truly is the ultimate superhero director. Thank you for this awesome guardians journey and not folding to the super hero marvel normalities.
This movie was truly a fresh of breath air and will hopefully knock some sense into these other marvel projects.
Am I the only one who loved this movie?
Sure, it's not perfect. But it shoots for the moon and, in my opinion, mostly succeeds.
So far most of the comments I've seen here have been pretty negative. Personally I very much enjoyed the movie taking it as a fun action ride. Yes, there's been plenty of time loop based movies, but the combination of the good fight scenes, little comical points and nods to other movies combined with the time travel aspects made it to me highly enjoyable. Overall I thought the acting was pretty good for this type of movie from the Grillo, Gibson and Watts and on the whole it was an enjoyable watch.
Let's remember, we never watched the old 80s movies with the classic action stars because they were going to win oscars, they were about having a bit of over the top mindless fun. And this for me fit the bill well
DRINK THE OOZE!
Pros:
- Excellent performances
- Delightfully weird. More goop than your average Marvel movie.
- Some of the most stunning visuals I have ever seen.
- The humor in this movie is so utterly stupid and absurd and I love it.
Cons:
- Dialogue which seems to have been written by a twelve year old
- An unnecessarily confusing plot
Personally, I think this is the best Marvel movie since No Way Home.
How many holes do you have?
I guess I'm the target audience for this movie because I think it was an absolute masterclass in producing an enjoyable action movie. Cinematography was great, the story was paced extremely well, and the casting of ALL roles was absolutely perfect.
Cruise, Pegg and Rhames were awesome as always, Whigham and Davis were great additions, but the power quartet of Ferguson, Atwell, Klementieff and Kirby, really went above and beyond in making this movie perfect. Not to mention the chilling confidence of Morales as Gabriel, who practically oozed tangible danger.
From the pre-opening credits scene to the final act, you will be on the edge of your seat - especially during any fight scene that involves Ferguson or Klementieff - and whilst there are moments that the tempo slows down to advance the story, it is always completely captivating.
The single, solitary, disappointment comes as the credits roll, and you remember you're going to have to wait until next year to see how it ends.
Good, but not quite there, i think it could had a little more thought making this to fit what the viewer wants and expand the choices to not be a dead end and have to go back.

Funny, Emotional and Fullfilling
There is no longer any reason to continue making art. Perfection has been achieved. Best thing since Paddington 2.
In all seriousness, this reminded me a bit of Pig in that Cage isn't remotely as over the top as you'd expect. He has a couple scenes where he leans full into the exaggerated performance we are there to see, but the movie caries itself on a clever, self-aware script that is genuinely fun and with good character arcs. It's not incredibly deep, but I do suspect a lot of this fictional Cage mirrors the experience that the real Cage has lived. That shows, and it was a thrill to watch.
I enjoyed the tragic, heartbreaking fairytale of Ben Solo.
I would have preferred to see the film follow the more interesting thread The Last Jedi was sewing, rather than throwing in all this crash bang flashy flashy Emperor stuff. But I did have fun with all this crash bang flashy flashy Emperor stuff.
EDIT: After much more thought, I'm incredibly disappointed by many aspects of this film, and it's easy to see a million missed opportunities for the conclusion of the trilogy and the saga. But I see some people love this movie, and that inspires me to view it in a charitable light. There should be more kindness and desire for understanding in film discussion.
Watched it earlier today. We all liked it. Was it the greatest sci-fi movie? No. It was entertaining though. Yes. The action scenes were good. The ending was good. A completely different take on where I thought it was going.
Pedro Pascal and Nicolas Cage is a friendship I didn’t know I needed in my life. :sparkles:
Such a fun movie, with lots of comedy and laugh out loud moments.
Really enjoyed this. A fun movie. Yes, it's over the top and a bit ridiculous but I liked it.
Kirk looks like Rob Lowe and Jim Carrey had a baby. Fun ep.
This is what Nic's fans have been waiting for. Doesn't get more Cage than this.
Like lego toilet paper, Old is pretty clunky and rubbed me all the wrong ways.
From the point of view of someone who probably likes M. Night Shyamalan a tad more than most people, I find Old to be one of his weakest efforts.
The predictable script (surprisingly so, for Shyamalan) relies too heavily on the graphic novel (I really, really hope having characters state their names and jobs outright wasn't a device he thought of himself), looks cheap and, tbh, is poorly directed. Shyamalan's stubborn refusal to show us any of the action (try too hard for a PG-13 much?) ends up being more annoying than intriguing.
This combined with some dubious acting in lead roles (not Thomasin McKenzie, Alex Wolff, Abby Lee Kershaw, or Rufus Sewell who all turn in strong performances) make Old weak, fragile, and tired.
"It's SHITE being Scottish! We're the lowest of the low. The scum of the f*cking Earth! The most wretched, miserable, servile, pathetic trash that was ever shat into civilization. Some hate the English. I don't. They're just wankers. We, on the other hand, are COLONIZED by wankers. Can't even find a decent culture to be colonized BY. We're ruled by effete arseholes. It's a SHITE state of affairs to be in, Tommy, and ALL the fresh air in the world won't make any f*cking difference!"
FANTASTIC MOVIE! Choose Trainspotting!!
That was surely one of the Star Trekkiest episodes that ever Star Trekked. I could easily picture this being a TNG story. Hard hitting, tough, highly watchable. Pike's hair continues to impress.
Incredible action sequences. Puts Indiana Jones to shame. Must see in theaters. Maybe twice.
If you're still complaining about the show, just stop watching it! It's kinda annoying to watch the "the earlier seasons" were better after 54651 episodes.
It’s quite clear what this is trying to be: a meta whodunnit comedy like Knives Out mixed with the quirk and visual style of early Wes Anderson. Is it charming? Yes. Is it funny? Yes, though the comedy does miss at times. Is it annoying? Also yes, but only sporadically. Unfortunately it doesn’t have the same panache as Wes Anderson, nor is it as clever and subversive as Knives Out. It kinda does that Matrix Resurrections thing where it points out all of its own cliches and genre trappings in the first act, but then goes on to embrace most of them. It all culminates in a third act that I thought was frankly underwhelming and predictable. What keeps it watchable are the performances, characters, editing, music and direction, but this should’ve been a lot bolder. A decent effort from a first time feature director, but let’s see if he can come up with something where he doesn’t lean on his influences so hard.
5.5/10
Obviously a very flawed film. That being said, it looks gorgeous and kept me interested all the way to the end - more than I can say for some other movies.
Now that that's out of the way, let's talk about all the plot points this movie never bothers to explain:
1. What was the plane crash?
2. Why did Gemma Chan kill Frank at the end?
3. Why did Margaret's child disappear?
4. What was happening when Alice got crushed up against the glass? And when she sees Margaret smash her head into the mirror? And what was with the empty eggs?
5. Can you imagine whatever you want in the world, like in Inception? Does Frank control the world?
6. What were all the earthquakes/rumbles?
7. Why did one guy tell his wife they were making weapons?
8. Olivia Wilde's character is there because she lost her children - that seemed like an interesting story which was not explored at all.
And on and on...
Why the fuck would you rate something which is still not aired 8? Its a stupid thing too but i kinda get the 1 and 10.(haters and big fans) But 8? I mean why?
