What If a superhero was pushed to the edge by a villain, who thought he was a savior, by torturing his/her family.
This episode gets high rating. But when Snyder did the same in a more polite and humane way in Man of Steel, fans praised while Marvel's fans jeered. This episode got praised.
That's what happened with Disney's generation brainwashing for decades. What a pity!
I can understand some of the changes made for the adaptation, but this episode made me worry that it's mostly dumbed down.
Very good start, getting you hooked in the narrative. I don’t think splitting the book character Wang Miao into 5 characters is a big problem. Although I fear that the oxford 5 might stay a little flat as characters.
People praising Avatar like the king of movies and rating Madame Web with 1/2 stars, it's the internet in a nutshell. I'm giving it 1/2 extra star just because of all your hate and will hope for a sequel. Now back to drinking Pepsi and using the web.
It is as if the dumb kid copying the exam of the smart kid and doing it poorly. It lacks everything good the original had.
Avatar: The last airbender
Book 1: Air.. Apparently
Aang didn't bend a single droplet of water despite that being the core of the entire show... Him learning to master elements.
Imagine thinking that combining The Mechanist, Jet, Omashu, and Zuko in the same episode was a good idea :clown::clown::clown:
I liked it, but the dialogues felt quite forced, almost like every line was meant to be a Tumblr quote. The acting may have contributed to this feeling, as there were moments where it felt underwhelming. However, overall, I still got the sense that the script was heavily influenced by the Live Laugh Love people.
Disappointed with the confrontation between Ye Wenjie and the Red Guard. It makes Ye's subsequent action look like personal vendetta. Otherwise it's a great episode.
Why you gotta make Mr. Johnson cry?
The unexpected pairing of Melissa and Jacob was funny though. I'm curious to see where this will go.
Wow, some of the reactions to this film are over the top, anyone scoring it a 1 really needs to chill and take a walk in nature to calm down - is it a work of genius? No, but it's a fairly decent adventure to disengage your brain for and munch some popcorn to on a weekend. I, for one, need this sort of distraction after a week in reality. Just enjoy it.
Two GREAT episodes. The perfect joke in a preachy plot is "Don't say ‘they'" "Oh I thought everybody was THEY now"
The ending (from the article onward) is so wonderfully cathartic. Also "Damn, y'all are wifed up" is good line, even better delivery from Einbinder.
By her character's nature she probably wouldn't appear beyond this ep, but Christina Hendricks' cameo in episode 6 is so, so good. "I was really looking forward to pissing on a caddy" lmao
What an epic Brandi Carlile drop.
Ending on a high note, with the storylines coming together in a great way. A fantastic finale to a great first season. Lucy staying silent for something like 30 minutes this episode, listening to her dad and Moldaver (with scenes in between ofcourse) gave so much weight to the scene. Absolutely loved it. Can't wait for season 2.
Only one episode left and no vertibird has randomly crashed yet, smh 0/10 accuracy
The secrets of Vaults 31-32-33 are so far the most interesting thing going on, which is pretty on par with how exploring vaults in the games is some of the most interesting thing to do.
Yeah, well, the Wasteland's got it's own golden rule: Thou shalt get sidetracked by bullshit every goddamn time.
Welp, the writers certainly understand the core Bethesda RPG experience.
Why is it Netflix always finds the worst new actors? No expressions in their faces—you just don’t believe any of their emotions. Script is just bad. Something that might work in an anime or manga/comic book just cannot be translated that easily onto the screen. They made a really good version of One Piece but managed to really screw the up. And I have only seen episode 1 so far …
A very uneven episode. Some parts were really excellent, whereas other parts really dropped the ball. Big character moments feel hollow because they haven’t been set up well or are just cheesy.
★★★★☆☆☆
Only partially in and I'll add as it goes on.
- He arrived in Northpole and Aang didn't do single moment of Waterbending.. Aka he's magically gonna learn it in the moment of need...
All the acting falls flat.. Almodt every single actor did an aweful job this episode... The only one who remains consistent is Iroh.
Sokka and the princess kissing out of nowhere
Lighting effect got introduced at a terrible moment on top of looking terrible
The longer the show goes on the more it seems to suffer from rushed content. It's slowly falling apart.
God that one move in the end, near the end of the fight, just looked so bad I literally laughed out loud at it.
And honestly at this point I'm sure they should never use any form of gliding/sliding ever again, they absolutely f that up.
What is this?! They arrived at the north pole and Aang still didn’t train a second waterbending
