Better than I expected especially due to 100% good reviews, which I didn't see coming. It's just no surprise that of course all the white cops are written to be racist. Sadly, though black people pulled over just because they are black happens all the time. The 2 words "fake news" used also makes it feel like realistic current times.
The realistic racism works pretty well to show that the hero has trouble around every corner. Except the show at least shows that there's good white people as well as good but also some bad black people. Black Lightning may have looked silly by the trailers but it's actually more solid than shows like Arrow are these days.
So far it's about as good as Luke Cage but definitely could prove to be better.
Great start to the series! Introduced the characters and setting so well I'm already invested after just one episode. Can't wait to see more.
