Just when I thought this series was finally going somewhere they do the old “Twin Switcheroo” thing. Seriously annoying. Would have been better if they had hidden that from us too but the fact we know will just really get on my nerves.
Shame.
A slight improvement over the last 4 episodes. When I remove the smoke-and-mirrors lightsaber battle from the equation though, I'm lefts asking "is that all that happened?" and "where is the $180million dollars Lebowski?". 8 episodes will be chopped up into a 60 second video of stuff actually happening to save future generations from wasting their precious time.
wow. I'm absolutely loving the lightsaber choreography, brutal takedowns and the rare hand to hand combat!
Poison guy Jason Mendonsa totally gave it way he is smilo ren with all those on nose scene where he acts like "I am definitely not your master under desguise watching you to see if you are gonna follow my crazy orders". And of course Mae has a sudden change of character right in front of him because she read on the script that this was the best moment to generate some "muh sister" thug on the heartstrings drama. And of course he went ahead and murdered the Wookie himself off screen to prevent the show from spending additional one million dollars to make a Wookie fight like a Jedi, frame Mae so she keeps the plot from a dead stop and enters the scene to provide both a cliffhanger and a trailer scene.
Smilo Ren is trying to carry this show using no weapons.
If he killed her I would actually be interested for the next episode, but for some reason he did not...
Disney have yet again slopped out another 30 minutes of nothing much happening, for a budget of $1million per minute.
How does this at all related to the high republic period, we see nothing apart from these witches and stuff, so boring, the chanting part was like some musical, so cringe. Also witches supposed to use magic, not force, this is all wrong.
Good job making Jedi look evil and witches sweet & peaceful, what the actual f? Jedi never took away children without parents consent. Also kids are already too old, why would even Jedi test them, they are not supposed to be eligible at this age, why even bother?
So it was the Jedi who raided the place and burned it to the ground to kidnap the kids hence the guilt is it? What the f? Osha is super traumatized, conflicted, old, and too attached, 10 times worse than Anakin, why go this much effort for those boring twins? ZERO sense
Wookiee Jedi was the only good thing in this whole episode.
This feels like a poor job with a limited budget, the writing feels just off, character lines don’t fit and are delivered poorly, the final edit and transitions they may use some borrowed from star wars but just feel out of place.
The camera shots and direction just don’t feel like the best, more like someone that just finished school. Very amateur.
In all honesty the fight scenes feel more like wire fu meets the force stuck in a poorly choreograph and camera position and cropped too close to actors.
The actress that plays Vernestra Rwoh is a bad fit and poorly delivered lines, timing and her acting feel very amateurish and doesn’t belong is the position she has within this franchise.
It surly does not feel that the showrunners/director/screen writers know the lore/history or really are not fans of this universe as it shows on screen.
not worth finishing the season or series as this shouldn’t be cannon.
Also to note set 100years before where is Yoda? This could have been a great fan fave brought back considering the timeline.
"Tales of the Empire" delivers a solid dive into the Star Wars world, exploring some lesser-known characters. Morgan Elsbeth's journey, though a tad familiar, adds depth to her character. Barriss Offee's arc, on the other hand, really shines with its redemption story.
Visually, it's a treat, introducing new aliens and expanding the lore. Sure, there are some minor hiccups like abrupt endings and unnecessary character changes, but they don't ruin the fun.
Overall, I'd rate it a cool 8/10. It's got good storytelling, interesting character growth, and adds nicely to the Star Wars universe. Definitely leaves you wanting more tales from that galaxy far, far away.
No Carmy not to Claire.
Protect Pete at any cost.
Halfway through the third short I literally said "What the fuck am I doing?" and I turned it off.
The Score in this episode is fantastic. So is the atmospheric sound. One of my favourite episodes this season.
lol the Crosshair episodes are the best in the season by far , ironic considering the batch arent in them at all
I don't think people understand what "filler" means. The one with the giant mech was filler, this is most definitely not.
This episode was better than the entire "Force Awakens" movie!
