The first episode generally gives you a reason to watch; this didn't do that.
We get to watch flashbacks! They should just tell the story in a straight line.
I am so conflicted about this episode because, while I visually enjoyed the stroll in Imogen's mind, it was also such an effing waste of time. Did we seriously need to waste an entire episode chasing after a little girl in her mind?... Couldn't this have been solved in half the time it took? We essentially didn't do anything in this episode. It felt like filler. And I am still confused by the "hack" angle because he is a good detective--100% solve rate before Imogen's case, even if he did embellish details previously-- he kept working on the case after being dismissed, i.e. he left on behest of the family and not because they "stopped paying him" (and fuck all those adults for lying to Imogen all these years to villainize him when they knew the reason he left...), and there was simply no way for him to solve this case with his star witness--AKA the woman calling him a hack--cooperating, which she wouldn't do as a child. Like, how is it that Rufus literally did everything right, she now knows it, and yet she keeps calling him a hack?
The more I watch the show the more I dislike it, but so close.. just going to power through it and try not to hurt my eyes from rolling them so much.
interesting idea but this show is more focused on sex videos then a serial killer
Up until this point, the season was great. But this episode was pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty good.
Honestly? This is one of the best entries in the Saw saga... and that is saying A LOT, considering the mess that the Saw saga has been.
First, it's a story that follows John Kramer's storyline in it's entirety, focused on his devilish game against a group of con artists that truly deserve what happens to them. (And you can't even try to like these a-holes.)
Tobin Bell proves that the notorious Jigsaw killer has more tricks up his sleeve and shows us his most personal game in the franchise. Amanda Young's return and her dialogues with John are a perfect relief to the grotesque imagery that we have come to recognize in the Saw films, but this time, the effects are better and bloodier. With clever twists, a vicious set of new traps, a surprising antagonist in Synnøve Macody Lund's character and the glorious return of the Zepp theme taken into new hights courtesy of Charlie Clouser's score... Saw X may be a prequel to all the messy sequels that followed the original classic, but Is a promising return to form that has given the saga a new chance to keep the game going.
Also, I feel weird by not feeling bad about ANY of the other characters and their fates in the movie, like, they all could choke for trying to mess with good old' John... but to involve a child in their buffoonery? Electric chair, to all of them. PERIOD.
Did this show required home work (watching the animated shows) before watching? I found the first episode uninteresting and boring with bland characters.
I really enjoyed this final episode and the series. Good edge of the seat tension. Well worth a watch :thumbsup_tone1:
Despite not wanting to pull the trigger for a genuine emotional pay-off, this does have the most heart and emotion out of any Marvel movie throughout. I think people will be surprised by how dark and emo this gets, which is established straight from the opening credits. Unfortunately the rest of the movie is a bit of a mess. Adam Warlock and the villain are bland, the plot has a strong ‘we’re making it up as we go along’ feel to it, the tonal shifts and needle drops feel more jarring than cohesive and the action (despite a cool hallway fight) isn’t handled with the same care as the previous 2 (or The Suicide Squad). It’s probably the worst looking Guardians movie, however that incidentally still makes it the third best looking MCU movie. The characters and acting are the two main things that keep it watchable (especially Mantis, Drax and Nebula get a lot of time to shine here), but the entire picture feels unbalanced.
5/10
A very solid start for this thriller. A good cast and what appears to be an interesting story.
So far the plot is still up for grabs, but the first two episodes made wanting for more and having a lot of questions, which for me is what I like on a good thriller. Needless to say having Idris Elba is a +.
If you like thrillers, give this a go and ignore the low rate it was because had more than 18 votes of 1* months before airing.
The lead actor's acting was so painful to watch I had to leave the theater after 1 hour.
As it seems to be the mood all season long, there are sweet moments and a general relaxing, lack of menaces, sitcom style atmosphere.
Which sometimes I just need, so that's a joy.
But the characters' storylines are fragmented, abruptly interrupted for more than 1 ep, then get a sudden turn which was building up 2 eps before. Other times some changes of mind or behaviour are just too quick, compared to how a character had just behaved up until that point. Don't get me wrong, I like seeing Alice rekindling her relationship with her dad or Sean going full speed into his own business idea. But she had been very stubborn and hurt and putting an emotional wall till ep. 8 ending, and now they're almost back to normal? Sean was given 2 minutes of trying office job? Brian's marriage prep and relationship with his own father got 20 seconds?
There's really, really too much stuff going on which isn't given enough space nor exploration or that seemed rushed into the next chapter out of fear of living that storyline too much behind.
I don't know if the 30 minutes format is too tight for all the ideas they had or if they should have just taken it slower and developed things in the following season.. but it feels off.
Cocaine Bear was an amusing idea that wasn't very well executed. The subplots were weak and the story arc was flat. It did have some laughs but wasn't as fun as the title would lead you to believe.
All that hassle for droid to test the atmosphere and then just pressurized his helmet and walked around anyway. Surely could have done that in the first place and had a gadget to test the air. We even have them now.
Meh. Seemed like a filler episode to me. Still much better than Boba Fett.
A classic that never gets old
I love Mel Brooks (except Life Stinks), but so far I'm not impressed. Too many (short) vignettes for a 30 minute show. This episode does seem to focus mainly on the Russian revolution, but the story is interrupted by other segments. The Part I movie had short sections also, but included longer stories. I think it would be better had each episode focused entirely on only one historical event for the full 30 minutes.
sorry for everyone who wasn't able to enjoy watching this piece of .. art? on LSD with a big portion of coke probably. Judge me. I don't care. I really liked it and it was no waste of time. and still a better lovestory than twilight!
A very good reimagination of Sherlock Holmes. A movie I love to watch again and again.
(I wonder if they could pull off "Hound of the Baskervilles" in that style. I'd watch that!)
I know nothing about the game, but this first episode has me very interested in the series.
this is so much better than the US version. the actors are a cut above.
Claudia O'Doherty is a treasure and it was worth waiting for her to be showcased in some small role. The show is certainly better than it was when it started, but not as good as I want it to be.
Wow, I didn't think Harry would ice that chick. It was nice to see some action though considering how slow the show has been lately.
Did she really have to push the dude's car downhill into oncoming traffic ? Like I get you wanna destroy his property ... but why risk murdering innocent people at the same time. That's just some psychotic plot writing.
Now devolved into an unfunny parody of itself. Should have kept it to one season.
First 10 minutes are a little rough, but the rest of the episode is worth it.
It's also nice hearing people speak with their own accents, rather than have them all put on American ones.
So put this on one night was bored as wow !! Watch it …. I actually hate funny stuff , fake laughing and shit but this is done very well!!!
Finally, a better one. Writing in this season is different and not in a good way. But I hope with this episode that the show will get back on track.
